In a small tea and cake shop small tables were spread around with 2 to 8 chairs around them. There were a few diners sat at the tables drinking tea, eating cake and laughing. The floor was checkered black and white and the walls were a pleasant cream colour.
There was a large aroma of brews and sweet deserts. Anyone who entered the shop couldn't leave without ordering one of the chefs delicately made sweet treats.
The building had a joyful presence as people came here to bind and enjoy treats. Teens were laughing and giggling while older couples were sipping their drinks. Meanwhile, all on their own was a girl. She was waiting for a blind date her friend had set up for her. She had long, curly, black hair and a darkened skin tone. Her bright hazel eyes searched the room, excitedly waiting for her date.
Curiously, her eyes then turned to the window as the rain poured down. It splashed against the pavement and rolled into the sewer drains.
Suddenly, the shop door flew open, someone ran in and slammed it shit behind them. The figure pulled their hood off of their head to reveal practically perfect short brown hair. They gently shook their head to reveal a complete rainbow hidden beneath the brown. They then looked around the room, searching for someone, then began walking towards the lonely girl.
"Are you Abby?" They asked
"Yeah... are you Grace?" The other pondered
They nodded and took a seat opposite to her. Abby began looking at her date, she had light blue eyes and dark freckles covering her flustered face.
"You know... I've never been on a blind date before" Grace nervously laughed taking off her jacket
"Me either, I'm quite excited for it though" Abby replied
"Yeah. I'm shocked I haven't seen you around though" Grace looked Abby up and down "you're really pretty you know..."
Abby began playing with her hair. The two continued to chat, making general conversation and asking about each other. As the two began to learn more about each other their hands slid closer and closer together across the table until they were touching. They then sat hand in hand talking and laughing.
As time passed people began exiting the shop. But the two continued to talk. After two hours of talking the shop owner told the two they would have to leave as they were closing. With a sigh they got on their coats and headed for the door.
They stood in the rain for a while, hand in hand, staring into each other's eyes but saying nothing. The rain continued to pour as their outfits began to get wet.
"I guess this is goodbye?" Abby said
"Until next time. That is... if you want another date?" Grace questioned
"Only if you do"
Grace then gently placed her hand on Abby's face and pressed her lips lightly against the others. They then laughed slightly and kissed again. After a shower of kisses the two departed.
They agreed to meet again the next day. And repeat everything all over again.
