Your Life Was Taken For Another

Leyland Adventures Chapter Eleven: Part Two

Lennon threw himself on the maroon couch just in front of the thirty-two-inch TV with his eyes partially open.

"There's no way I'm telling Nya or Kustina anything...they'll kill me and the professor but I can't keep it a secret forever. I could try figuring this out beforehand or maybe come clean. Even then, they'll be pissed. Damn it, even decisions are difficult to make without him!" He swore, slamming himself into a pillow.

"Bro...please take care of yourself wherever you are...everything sucks without you."

The doorbell rang unexpectedly. He dragged himself off the couch and towards the door. Upon opening it, Nya's distracting azure eyes met with his own. At this point, he couldn't be bothered to feel the chills of fear.

"Hey Nya, this isn't the best time to visit, come back later."

Just as he was closing the door, she stopped that action from occurring, opening the door back up.

"Where's Tysashi?" With her elegant gaze and arms crossed, she awaited an answer.

"You saw him yesterday, relax."

"Is he with Kustina? Or Revi, Ashley, Beaza, Demos?"

He sighed with mild annoyance. "Look, Tysashi isn't home at the moment, but he'll be back. He just went for a walk, looking back at what happened on the island."

"Is he ok?"

"Yeah yeah, he's fine. He just needs some time to process everything."

"I see, I shall come back later then, please alert me if he does return."

With a nod, Lennon closed the door as Nya left his range of sight.

"She's gonna kill me once she find out..."

Aradressa held her knees as she crouched down to witness the Driplit emerge from the ground and circle around the Tropical Miku Berry. With conformation of safety, the gray orb of liquid swallowed the fruit whole, causing the creature to become plumb and sluggish. She watched as the berry gradually broke into pieces before those pieces were divided into atoms. Following that, the creature laid there with a smile and its black eyes staring at Aradressa. It rolled towards her, attempting to cuddle with her leg, despite its lack of arms. She cupped the Driplit within her hands above the jar she placed, it circled around while high-pitched shouts of joy entered her ears. She stole one last stare at the happiness of the organism before obscuring its blissful face with a leaf.

"I'm sorry." In a heartbeat, the walls closed in and squished the biotic liquid, its screeches echoed in her mind as she moved the walls closer.

Repeated apologies came about as she shielded her eyes from the horror. Soon after, it was silent. Forcing her eyes open, a majority of the Dislow Liquid was contained in the jar. Some remains of the Driplit painted her palms, just like blood.

"I wish you didn't have to parish in such a way...but no other option was presented."

Just shortly after that statement, her eyes erupted with tears of regret and guilt. The tears fell in coordination with the dripping Dislow Liquid, generating murderous feelings. It was clear this quest would be more emotionally complex than she had envisioned. The liquid evaporated thanks to her pyrokinesis as the tears were dealt with. The journey to the next location, Kiyoshi Woods, began.

Upon entering the area, sunlight penetrated the trees and illuminated the land. Smaller organisms roamed the ground in search for food while others stood silently and waited patiently for their prey. Taspisnakes usually hide in areas containing tall grass; allowing them to quickly jump directly at their victim and inject them with venom. She directed herself to a quiet area populated by fragrant flowers and edged stones. The tall, vibrant grass crowded the path ahead. Calming herself, she entered her body into the field. Like a giant, her legs bullied the grass as she was able to walk through it with no complications.

The sounds of rustling immediately came from the silence, halting her. The blades of grass were shoved forcefully; a creature scurried through the field. Multiple legs ran along the side of her hairless legs. A harmless, red millipede came into view as she pinched the edge of her dress upward. She invited the multi-legged animal to crawl around her finger, which it accepted. Her eyes could only focus on its carefree movements, spiraling around like an energetic child.

Though the millipede couldn't tell, Aradressa was joyous to see a simple creature living it's simple life in a complex environment. Somewhat making up for the innocent life she snatched away for her own needs.

Sacrifices had to be made and there was no way around it.

Another brief sound emerged from the grass, unnoticed by her. With its sharp fangs ajar, a skinny, yellow-skinned creature with a body painted with purple dots which could easily be mistaken for eyes launched itself towards her. Aradressa caught the middle segment of the creature as it squirmed violently. With her spare arm, she removed the lid underneath the Taspisnake. A river of venom sprayed into the jar as her thumb placed heavy pressure against the head. The jar was sealed. She brought the reptile outside the woods and sent the tip of her blade burrowing through the skin. Though a gathering of tears descended, she reminded herself that the Taspisnake struck first. The gathering was cut short while blood spread across the glistening grass.

"Oh mighty Ampros, please lend me your godly assistance and give your blessings to this injured creature."

That specific sentence would, on most occasions, summon the powerful and majestic Healing Unibird. The creature orbits Leyland in search for injured creatures and fairies to willingly drop one of its curing feathers. Although her feathers are necessary for her own survival, no matter how serious or tame the situation is, Ampros donates her powers. In a matter of seconds, the enormous pink swan came to her need. However, she arrived with an unusual appearance. Her former glory was stripped away, abandoning an atrocious figure. To the powerful princess, it was crystal clear as to what ruined its beauty.
