Dangerous Training
Leyland Adventures Chapter Ten: Part Two
Aradressa soon came out with a collection of cards, a variety of creatures were painted on the covers.
"These are Bakugan Cards, you summon creatures by pronouncing their names on the front and using their abilities on the back."
She then proceeded to hand him a random card before starting the game. "Summon Archen!" A black eagle with red marks on its feathers suddenly appeared. Its metallic beak and piercing talons made it an impressive opponent.
"Summon Licktong!" A dwarf lime green frog with yellow cheeks appeared, its agility and range was its key offensive and defense strategy.
"Since this is your first experience with the game, I shall allow you to make the first action."
Tysashi flipped his card around to review his moves. "Use Tongue Whip!"
Licktong launched its extensive tongue towards Archen.
"Metal Crunch!"
Archen opened its beak to brutally crunch down on Licktong's tongue. The creature retracted in pain, the card began to flash red as the total number of health points decreased from one hundred and forty to one hundred, a critical hit.
"Certain Bakugan creatures have their own set of weaknesses with certain attacks. In addition, certain elemental moves will either have tremendous or weak effects depending on the moves used to counter them."
"Cool, I think there was a game back on Earth like this."
"I am not familiar with that location."
"It's a planet with- never mind. Heh, I guess I forget that this planet multiple galaxies away from mine."
As Licktong awaited his next command, Tysashi searched for his next attempt at dealing damage, an electric attack maybe?
"Alright, use Shock!" Electricity formed on its cheeks, targeting Archen at high speeds but here's a fun fact about metal, it conducts electricity.
"Absorb!" Archen consumed the attack within its beak, which was now crawling with electricity.
"Electric Takedown!" Archen rushed at Licktong, sending him above the clouds before coming down wrapped in electricity. Sparks flew through the air as the debris cleared, stars orbited Licktong, indicating it was knocked out before returning to the card.
In order to clear his confusion, she relayed a piece of information.
"Some moves are only available when certain events occur. Archen possesses a metal beak which can absorb electricity and use it against others."
"I see, this was fun. Let's go again."
Aradressa smiled before returning Archen to his card and giving Tysashi a random card.
"Summon Boulderdash!" A creature completely formed of jagged rocks appeared, its bronze eyes poked through the slight opening in the middle. The multiple rocks worked as an offensive and defensive strategy.
"Summon Aquasnail!" A snail composed of water with an emerald shell appeared. Its liquid body allowed for swift movement and impressive speed.
"Use Rollout!" Boulderdash began to rotate its body in place before launching itself towards its opponent.
Aradressa commanded her creature to dodge before responding with Water Gun. Tysashi's card flashed red again, the max hp of one hundred and seventy had dropped to one hundred and ten. A few of the rocks that made the creature's body had become brittle. Seeing this, Aradressa took the opportunity to completely devastate the poor creature.
"Tidal Wave!" Aquasnail summoned a great wave of liquids, obliterating Boulderdash and forcing him to return to his card. "Water beats rock, erosion." She told him.
He only chuckled, "I know. We should do this again sometime."
She agreed with the day before a dark thought plagued her mind. Her smile vanished and was replaced with a look of discarded hope. Tysashi couldn't help but ask her what was troubling her, he could just taste her gloom.
She had to force herself to speak. "I still wonder how capable we are in defeating Flora."
"We? Aradressa, you're on a different level of power compared to me, what do you have to worry about?"
"I haven't fought any of them but I know that they are just, if not, stronger than I am. My mind won't remove the thought of our lives being cancelled early due to a Gemstone Holder. As I have told you, death is a possibility when accepting the quest and there is no mercy."
"I know, but I have a ring and two necklaces to utilize. I've always worried about when I'll take my final breath but I can't let that take control of my life. Besides, we can always schedule another day to do this."
A rush of confidence flowed through her powerful blood, her negativity wouldn't hold her back any longer. Her eyes glistened with a spark of positivity. "It must be done tonight, my doubts shall have no pleasure in consuming me!"
"Yeah!," He encouraged. "But I'll need some practice, I didn't get any during the arena and I nearly died so it'll be a good idea."
"Who would you like to battle? We have a large variety of guards, all arranged by type."
"You, of course!" He ended his statement with a smile.
The princess stepped back, as if she was drowning in fear. "F- fight me?"
"I'm sure we'll be a great matchup for each other, we share similar abilities and have tons of experience so it'll be fine."
Multiple thoughts penetrated her mind as blushes infested her face, her cheeks were boiling. Another thought let itself in, one that would calm her and eradicate anything that wasn't considered healthy for her. Air was invited and kicked out her lungs.
"Ok, but we shall use Alfred as a warmup round."
"Alright."
"I already heard you, my princess." Alfred stood by her, his smooth pale skin combined with a glossy gray mustache and hair made his face memorable to all. Wrap that up with his golden eyes and you have yourself an interesting butler.
"Training before a fight, you have learned something." His brow rose ever so slightly.
"Heh...yeah. You ready?"
"You should ask yourself that," He straightened his tie before preparing for battle. Marissa locked her eyes on Aerosmith, something inside him was...alluring."

"Commence!" Just as those escaped her mouth, Tysashi led in with a flaming fist towards Alfred and just as the flames could infect his suit, he snapped his fingers and with that he was gone.
Unexpectedly, a rollercoaster of chills rode through his body and those same chills were replaced with pain. Tysashi stood down just as Alfred appeared behind him. Standing back from the blow, Tysashi arose to block the incoming attack before blowing fire.
"How did you do that?"
"I'm a ghost/psychic type."
"Ghost..like possession and stuff?"
"Yes. Now then, shall we?" A ball of energy formed within his hands.
Tysashi mimicked the same action as flames crawled around his body. They simultaneously released their attacks and from emerged the overwhelming smoke and ash was Tysashi furiously swinging his fist. He managed to land one excellent punch, followed up with a burst of flames.
Just as the smoke cleared, his opponent disappeared from his line of vision. Clones of him appeared, sluggishly orbiting Tysashi. His eyes scanned the copies, they appeared the same, so what was the trick?
Aradressa knew Alfred's Spirit Clone technique...the clones were only a distraction as Alfred came crashing down engulfed in his own aura, Tysashi held him back with a single hand as he used the other to attack the clones.
"I may have misjudged you, you are stronger than I thought."
"Thanks, you're not too bad yourself." He said, serving up with a smile.
"However, there is a reason I was hired." Alfred pushed his wings harder, the ground beneath him began to move as Tysashi was losing his stand.
"Our wings are one of the greatest strengths a fairy possesses. Without them, options for attacks become limited."
As more words escaped his mouth, Tysashi was pushed back more ferociously. The invisible clouds of determination caused sweat to rain down upon him. It was time to fight back, Tysashi exerted more upon him. It felt as if a bone was near snapping if more force was needed.
The princess only watched the two clash, smiles gone and eyes tightened. Is this what will happen when she is forced to fight her lover?
Just then, Alfred grew tired of games and used his speed limit, pushing his opponent far away.
Tysashi arose from immediately receiving a heavy punch to the face followed by a blast of energy. Standing himself back up, he followed with the stand strategy as Alfred stood on the defensive before pausing time to return to the offensive.
Blows were launched like bullets, as the fist collided it felt like an earthquake, almost if they were at a similar level.
Alfred swifty dodged an incoming punch to grab Tysashi and take him to the skies. A familiar memory occurred in his mind, an iconic attack from the arena but that's where the similarities ceased as there were no choices. Alfred secured Tysashi as he began a brutal descent.
Having a moment of genius, Tysashi threw a fireball downwards but because of the extreme downward force of the wind, it returned to Alfred. A violent explosion occurred, his grip on the Lenovo hero was loose.
He swallowed himself in flames before blitzing towards Alfred, who was blinded by the flames. With a direct hit, Tysashi was prepared to give him a taste of his own medicine. Within seconds of being ensnared with Tysashi's power, Alfred used his ability to disappear and reappear on the ground, releasing a blast of energy towards the airborne fighter only to be fought against fire.
The two were right back where they started. No signs of holding back.
Aradressa could only imagine how much energy he must be exerting...and the sad part...it's not even close to the amount required to endure a battle with her.
Alfred continued to release more energy as his attack chewed through Tysashi's. His entire body was shaking, muscles tightening and blood rushing.
"Enough playing around! I'll show you exactly what I'm made of!" Flames flew around him as he took the form of a humongous bird crafted out of flames.
"Fire Phoenix: Volcano Blast!" A burst of fire was unleashed, tearing through Alfred's attack and himself. Another violent explosion scared the clouds away as the smoke and ashes bid farewell.
He returned to the ground, unable to stand the burning tuxedo worn by the butler. He soon arose from his state of inactivity, congratulating Tysashi on his victory. He smiled, thanking Alfred for the battle.
He nodded silently, returning to the castle for a change of clothes.
Now alone, he turned to Aradressa. "So, you ready?"
"That bird...was that you?" Her voice shook a bit.
"Yeah, I didn't wanna spoil the surprise but Alfred was pretty strong, stronger than the people I fight."
"I see...in that case I am prepared for any tricks." She drew the Shandolyn Sword and her shield.
"Are you going to use your necklaces?"
"Oh yeah, I'll use the Diamond Eye one. I'll be right back."
His return was rushed, the thought of battling someone as strong as Aradressa excited him. With the necklace now equipped, all feelings of love and happiness were discarded at the moment.
"No holding back?"
She stared at her reflection on her blade, it shined. Holding her weapon close, she gave a dangerous reply. "No holding back."
There were few people who dared to battle Aradressa, why did one of them have to so important to her? No turning back now, what has been said was already said. With the calming wind blowing and the swift movement of hair, an extraordinary battle would occur. The battle of familiar feelings and shared bonds.
