Chapter 8: Killing Time
Of course all evidence pointed against Levi... and he was convicted guilty of everything. The murders... my attack... I knew it was wrong. I knew that everything was wrong... but they still made me watch Levi get taken away to prison. I hated everything...
Erwin kept fussing about me over the "solved" case when I knew Levi was innocent. I tried so hard to figure out who overheard me... and I grew panicky over everything. I only explained about Levi's last name when I was at the station- so I suspected the killer there. I couldn't trust anyone but Nanaba about my secret.
"You know you're killing yourself over this, Hanji." Erwin chuckled as he sat next to me, looking depressed as he saw my growing baby bump. "Besides... the case is solved..." His hand rubbed on my thigh and I whacked it off. "Hanji-"
"Don't 'Hanji' me, Erwin. You sent the innocent man in jail. How can it be solved?" I groaned with a bit of pain, holding my hand on my bump. "S-Shit..."
Erwin walked closer to me, holding his hands close to me. "Hanji? A-Are you okay? Take some time off. You're killing yourself and your baby."
I pushed him away and knew his advances again. I lied about me being in a relationship and me breaking it off with a boyfriend when I got pregnant. Erwin felt disappointed when I said I was in a secret relationship... but when I said he broke it off, Erwin still went on to make his advances on me. More like parenting way and I knew why he took advantage of my baby.
"Hanji..."
"No, no more, Erwin. I don't need to have you use my own baby for your own relationship. Got it?" I growled at him, continuing to groan more. "Please... I need to solve this case... I really do-"
Erwin carefully puts his hands on my shoulders, "Hanji. I'll take you down to my apartment- or yours- and I'll take care of you. Got it?" His eyes shown bright sapphires, almost making me forget Levi...
But I shook my head and pushed his shoulders off. "No. Nanaba got me taken care of. Now, go do your paperwork. I'm gonna check on Levi, just to make sure it's right."
"Right?" He tilts his head. "What do you mean by that, Hanji? Are you just gonna try again to solve a case that's already completed? You're doing extra work by doing that... don't. Okay? You know I love you... and I want the best for you kid. I want to raise it."
"It's my baby and I determine who gets to help raise my baby. Got it?" I moved myself off the table and groaned once more. I then grabbed my phone, looking at the time. "Alright. I'll be at the prison then. I'll clock out once I'm done."
He nods, "Fine... would you like me to go and aid you-"
"Erwin Smith! Listen to what the hell I have to say!" My voice raised with anger, scaring him and the whole station. "Just because I am pregnant doesn't mean that you have to treat me as a weakling!" I groaned and walked away towards the police cars, ignoring every stare on my body.

"I'm here to see Levi Ackerman." The security guard nods and begins to type on the computer. My hands grew sweaty as well.
"He's in solitary as of this moment. If you want to see him, we have to have you in that same room as him. Are you sure in your conditio-" His eyes gazed down to my baby bump and I sighed with disappointment. If only they knew about my true relationship with him... they wouldn't give a damn.
"Yes, I'm sure, sir. Just let me see this guy." He nods and tells me to do the procedure to enter the compound- no weapons.

After all that, I was led through the compound -the main one- and I saw every possible baddie out there. They all stared at me like I was their prey and they were the predators. Their eyes located me and smirked with their dirty minds affecting them.
I shook my head back to reality and followed the guard to the solitary rooms. He leads me to an iron door, takes his keys out, and opens the door. I nodded to thank the guard and he whispers. "20 minutes."
Once more, I nodded and walked into the room, hearing the door creak as it closed and locked behind me. 20 minutes began to tick away. I walked close to him, looking around for cameras- finding nothing. I then rubbed my bump again and smiled.
Levi turned around from facing the wall, smiling more. "Hanji... there you are..." I rushed towards him, wanting to cry tears of happiness.
I laughed nervously, crying into him. "Levi... I missed you so much..."
His hand went up to my bump, rubbing it slowly. I heard him chuckle as he rubbed it. "I hope it's a boy... to grow big and strong... but, I do want a girl. Just for you. How a baby girl would look like you..." He chuckles more, kissing my neck.
"Yeah... but, I need you out there to take care of my baby. I just... need more time. And information. With more information, I can... I can prove you're innocent, Levi. I know it, okay? I really... really hope so..."
Levi nods, chuckling softly. "Maybe, Hanji... maybe. But I mean it... I want my kid's pictures-"
"You'll see your kid when you're out of jail." I chuckled out, kissing him. "I promise that... but first things first. Please..."
"What?" He chuckles as he held my hand when his other was rubbing my bump. His lips were still on my neck. "Come on... I can't enjoy having you here for... what? 15 minutes now?"
"I need more information about the person who attacked us. Close your eyes, Levi..." I say, gently putting my fingers over his eyelids and forcing him to close them. "Breathe in slowly."
He nods, "Alright... what's next?"
"Go back when you we were together on that morning. What happened? What did you see?"
Levi stays silent, but still has his eyes closed. "I was... talking to someone... Kyle. I was asking for privacy... and I walked back inside my room. When I walked in, I saw... you, bleeding. I got... angry. That's when I grabbed him off of you and told you to run."
"What else do you notice?"
"He... called me filth... wanted me to suffer... he knew... my relationship with you. He saw... how protective I was of you."
I nodded, memorizing every detail. Why would the man call him filth? Was it because he lived on the streets? But... from what I saw- he was fair and, not even cruel. "What did you do in response to that?"
Levi sighed heavily, "W-Well... I first had the gun, but I put it away for a knife fight. He was a really good fighter. A combat person... trained, obviously. But everything... he ran off when I was distracted."
"Distracted? How so? What distracted you?"
He opened his eyes and looked solemnly into me. "You... I wanted to kill him, but I thought of you and I didn't want to kill him. And I looked away before he attacked me again and ran off. I wounded him a bit..." His stormy eyes looked away from he, sighing. "I'm sorry... I should've done something to stop him from escaping my grasp."
My hands went to his and I looked up to him. "Levi, it's okay. I promise. It's not your fault. Besides, I got what I wanted, thanks to you."
"What did you get from that?"
"Well... he was wounded, was he not? And trained. I know that this guy was in the police station on that day when I did research on you. I narrowed my search down." I kissed him and smiled. "Thank you, Levi..."
He stood up to his feet, smiling and kissing me before I walked towards the door. "When will you come back?"
"When do you want me to visit you?"
"3 months from now? And in 6 months, I want to see if it's a boy or a girl. Please... and we'll figure out names from there."
"Alright then... goodbye, Levi..." I say, looking back as I heard the door unlocked and opened.
Before the door closed, I watched him sitting on the cot, looking depressed as he stared at me. His stormy eyes was hopeful- yet his facial expression was depressed. I watched the iron door close and his face was burned into my mind. He was locked there like an innocent animal... and I want to help him out of there. Don't worry... I'll get you out of there... I got my clues- now to find out who heard me.
