Chapter 70: Forevermore
Levi's POV
Our girls were born... finally. Raven couldn't hold her excitement when she first laid eyes on her sisters. Even though she was exhausted, Hanji kept telling Raven the fun games they would play when the girls were older.
The girls were not considered identical, as when they were born, they had some differences. The oldest one, we named Iris, and the twin born 8 minutes later was named Kuchel. Iris had a tuft of dark brown hair, while Kuchel had black hair. The one thing they shared was my gray eyes. That seems to be a dominant trait among my daughters... and Hanji says she loves seeing their gray eyes... saying it's beautiful to look at.
Even I was mesmerized by their eyes when they opened. How big their eyes were... how beautiful they were... I never thought my girls could wear them so well.
"What do you think?" Hanji says, interrupting my thoughts as she held Kuchel in her arms. "Levi?"
"What did you say?"
"Jerk..." She chuckles to herself, "Not even paying attention to your lover after she gave birth to your twin girls, huh? Shameful."
"I'm admiring the work you did with these twins. Even though they were a bit small and born slightly early, they're perfect. I can't believe you went through a lot while having them inside of you. Not a thing is out of place... they're perfect little angels... just like their mother."
Hanji blushed a bit before chuckling, "I was saying that you'll help find the perfect mate for them. I asked what would you think about it... warding off these twin girls from potential mates."
"Considering you found someone like me in this world... saving me... even after hurting you on accident."
"Levi, we talked about it. It's not your fault."
"Still, I have nightmares about it... I still blamed myself."
"If you didn't, how else would you have met me?" Hanji smiled, giggling to herself like the grown child she is. "Levi, I forgive you for it a long time ago. You have daughters..."
"Scary to think that."
"Says the man who frightens every pup when he walks into the room."
"No, I don't."
Hanji chuckles again, "They get so scared that they quickly clean their things up. You scare them. If anything, they'll tread carefully around our daughters. Especially the boys. One glare and they'll shrivel up."
I kiss Hanji's lips, nodding my head. "They better not touch her."
"I see you're working hard with the mentoring job, huh?"
I nod my head. "Yeah... they're better than I expected."
"When are you taking them out for their first hunt?"
"Tonight."
"Be careful, Levi..."
"I will." I kiss her again before kissing our daughters' foreheads. "You just need to rest, Hanji. I'll take the girls." I take Iris from her arms, putting her back into their little plastic bin. I thought it was strange when they had to take them away... especially when Raven was born... but I have no control over it.
I left Hanji in the hospital room to get ready for the hunt. Once I left, she was already snoring asleep. Raven was in the daycare with the other werewolves, learning some things before she gets enrolled in school. Not just any school- the public school. I hated that place, but if Raven can control her werewolf side, she'll be a force to be reckoned with. She'll rule the place with an iron fist.
Before I had to get ready, I had to say goodbye to Raven. She throws tantrums when I don't tell her when I'm leaving. When I approached the daycare, I saw Raven chatting with another werewolf girl around her age. Once she saw me, she jumped into a wolf form and ran for me.
"Daddy! Is Mommy okay?"
"She is," I assured her, "I'm going to get ready to leave, okay? I wanted to tell you that I love you, for you to take care of your mom and your new sisters, and to tell you goodbye."
"Fighting the bad guys, Daddy?"
I nod my head, "Of course."
"Kick their butts!"
"I will. Now, go back and play. Don't forget to take care of Mommy."
"Okay!"
* * *
A small group of beginning werewolf hunters was ready with their gear. As we were about to depart, I saw a mischievous boy hiding among them. "Eren," I say, "what are you doing here?"
"I wanna join."
"You're too young."
"Please?!"
"Do I have to tell your mother? In a few more years, then you can join us. You're too young." I know I was a bit cruel, but it's the truth. No child should be a werewolf hunter. He walks away in defeat, but he was still nearby to watch us leave.
Hanji... I wish you were by my side... but you're taking care of our daughters now. Raven's nearly grown-up. All because I hit you with my car. How could I possibly fall in love with a werewolf like you?...?
