Chapter 62: Captured

Hanji's POV

"Mommy!"

The sound of my daughter's cries woke me up. But once I woke up, the cries were gone. I look around my surroundings, seeing myself on a white bed. The walls were solid white- except for one side. That side seemed... open... but I assume it's glass. Why would someone go through the trouble of kidnapping my daughter and me... just to leave me in a room that I can easily escape from?

I got up from the bed, holding my stomach to look through the glass. I couldn't see anything else... but if I had to guess, the way this room was positioned was as if I was in a zoo... held in a small cage as if I was a rare creature. A nice compliment, but terrible execution.

My eyes tried to look around the window, seeing I could find a glimpse of where my daughter was... but she was gone. My daughter... Raven...

"You're awake," I turn around, not noticing a few people in white walk into the room from a hidden door. One of the people stepped forward, and I knew he had to be in charge. Something about him seemed different. "I have not seen you transform yet... why is that so?"

"Maybe you got the wrong one." I scowled.

The man chuckles, "I'm sure I didn't, Hanji." I could feel the blood draining from my body when he said my name. "Your daughter is such a talkative girl-."

"Where is she?!" I scowled, running towards her but was stopped by the guards. They held silver batons with some sort of antenna at the end. The first thought that came to mind was that they would hurt me... and might injure the pup inside of me. I backed down. "Where's my daughter?!"

"She's safe..."

"I can't trust that- I need to see her!"

"Why aren't you transforming?" The man questioned, "I've seen werewolves before, the ones I had encountered before always turned into a wolf. Silver does hurt you... so you are a werewolf. Your daughter's not in your grasp... so why aren't you transforming?" I growled to myself as he spoke. "I wonder... are you pregnant? That explains why you backed down so quickly... can you not transform when you're carrying a child?"

"Give my daughter back!"

The man chuckled, turning around and walking out. The guards remained fixed to me until the man was safe and secure before exiting. That's when I ran to the door, but I was too late. The door slammed shut once I get there, and I screamed for Raven's name. My throat grew sore after shouting for her name...

Over the intercom, I heard the man's voice. "If you're a good little wolf, we'll let you have a certain amount of time with your daughter. The same goes for your daughter. Listen to the rules and you'll see your daughter soon." The message ends as I fall to the ground.

My hands quickly went to my stomach, sighing softly. I need to see my daughter... my mind is racing, swirling in a hurricane if I don't see her. I know that Levi isn't here... he's not here... but I know he'll do whatever he can to find his way to me and our daughter. I need to concentrate on getting Raven back... only then is when I can feel a bit safer. I can't stress too much before I lose the pup inside of me... I can't let this little one be born here... but I can't lose them either.

"Raven... I hope you're safe..." I whisper, wishing I could stay by her side as she slept. I hope she knows that I'm with her... even if it's not in person... I'm here with her. "Raven... Daddy's coming soon... I promise... he'll be here."

The door opened and I perked up to see Dr. Zaccken enter the room. I shifted back into my human form, "What do you want?"

"That werewolf you told me to find... I found her alright. She and her little girl."

"The hunter's child?"

"Looks like it. The girl doesn't possess Hanji's looks. Black hair and gray eyes. She's a fighter. Did you know she scratched a few of my colleagues badly? They had to return home with stitches. Too bad, we didn't find them until later."

"Can't train the girl then?"

"No, not really. But for the unborn baby, we can."

I raised an eyebrow, "She has another one? She's pregnant?"

"Early stages, I assume. I thought she would have a bit more... considering werewolves usually have more than 3."

"That's our kind of werewolves. These tend to have 1 or 2. Are you still upholding our deal, Dr. Zaccken?"

"As long as I have a werewolf to test and experiment on, you can have the children."

I chuckle to myself, "Keep Hanji. If you can, capture the hunter. Werewolves only have one mate. Capture him, and come up with a good plan to keep them breeding. A hunter with his strength and a werewolf with her intelligence... imagine all those in a community that you have control over."

Dr. Zaccken chuckles, "I never thought of you to be like that, Dirk."

"If I can't have Hanji... then I'll take the next best thing... and her little unborn child would be perfect. Of course, I'm upset we couldn't take Raven when she was younger. She would've been a perfect specimen..."

"Of course, Dirk. But of course... we need to keep her calm just to ensure she'll give birth to the baby safely. That way you can have the new infant to care for. And we'll start introducing you to Raven... of course, that's not until Raven calms down and becomes a good wolf."

I clasped my hands together, "Good."
