Chapter 58: Quiet Nights

Levi's POV

After we explained what happened during those two weeks, Hanji and Petra both told me that they needed to tell me something in private. At first, I thought I did something wrong again, but it seemed that it was completely different.

I listened to Petra's confession about her feelings, then said that she was leaving. I know I don't love her as I used to... but the fact that she was leaving again... so quickly... I wonder if she would contact me again to remain as friends... or just leave things the way it was earlier. She didn't tell Klaus yet... so she would talk with him tonight. Instead of leaving the next morning, they'll leave in a week.

We then grabbed our kids to go eat dinner together, and I began to wonder what I should do now...

"Daddy!" I see Raven quickly shifting into her wolf form before running towards me. As she jumped, she transformed back into her human form. She's getting good at transforming... when she goes to elementary school, we need to teach her to restrain herself from using it. Especially from showing it off to friends. I'm worried that she might get bullied. "Daddy!"

"Hey, Raven... careful of my arm."

"Did you hurt it badly?"

I nod my head, "A very bad person did it to me."

"Is it gonna be as long as Mommy's leg?"

I nod my head again, "Yes. But don't worry, I'll be okay." I kiss her forehead, "Now, I heard from Mommy that you wanted ice cream? Sorry, was it ice cream cake?" She nods her head gleefully, "Let's go get an ice cream cake."

"Yay!"

Hanji was worried that something bad would happen to my arm as I carried Raven with my good one. Raven pointed to the ones she wanted to try, asking me if it was okay to eat.

"What about this one? It has cats on it. Daddy, you like cats, right? But Mommy is a wolf... and Klaus told me before that cats and dogs don't like each other."

Hanji laughs, pecking a kiss on Raven's cheek. "It's not like Daddy's a cat. It's okay."

"What happens if Daddy turns into a cat? Will you still love him?"

"Always, Raven. There's nothing that would change my love for him. And it is the same with you, Raven. I will always love you... you and your new sibling. Now, let's hurry and pick an ice cream cake so we can eat it in the room."

Raven nods her head, pointing to the ice cream cake with wolves on it. "That one."

With Raven tucked in bed for the night, Hanji curled up next to me. I could feel her fingers tapping on the hard cast. What is going on in your beautiful mind, Hanji?

Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. "What's wrong?"

"I... I don't know what to do for the future... with another baby... are we going to stay here? But with that dipshit gone... we can move back to your old house. We continue living there as a family. But you still want to go hunting... and I always want to go with you... but I can't go now... not for a while..." I hear her sigh, "What's going to happen?"

I kiss her cheek, "As long as we're by each other's side... I don't give a damn."

"You'll give up hunting?"

"Not necessarily. I can train new hunters instead. Once in a while, I'll go out there and show them the ropes of hunting. What to do, how to act... if you're okay with it. Of course, I can bring you along... maybe you can help teach combat against a werewolf in wolf form." I tried to snuggle into her as I hear her chuckle. "I can picture you teaching others how to fight... maybe we can train some of your pack members to hunt other werewolves?"

"Oh... well, it might work. We need to talk to my dad though..."

"Alright. But still... you're always there with me..." I kiss her again, closing my with a heavy sigh, "I love you, Hanji..."

"I love you too, Levi..."

Hours pass, and I still couldn't get any sleep. I listened to Hanji's soft snores before I got up from the bed and sat next to Raven. She cuddles with her stuffed animal, and it made me smile. I can't believe that she's my daughter... I remember when I swore to not have kids...

I closed my eyes, and remember my mom and my life when she was still alive. I didn't want my kids to suffer the way I did... with all the bullying and painful memories... I always thought children would always be stones in my ass. But with Hanji... I'm more than happy to have children with her.

Raven stirs a bit in her sleep, murmuring, "D-Daddy... Mommy..."

I kiss her forehead, tucking her back into bed. "Daddy's here..." She smiles in her sleep, and her murmuring had stopped. I love them to death... and would do anything to keep them safe...
