Chapter 39: Tied Up
Hanji's POV
Finally, I was able to convince Levi that I had to come with him on a hunt. The only condition is that I would help get information and leave the killing to Levi. That I didn't mind. I love asking questions to people and gathering information. Plus, it feels like a family thing! Levi, the baby, and I are on a family thing to kill rogue werewolves. A family business! But it sounds so wrong... involving our unborn child in this...
After a long investigation, and somewhat easy, I concluded my research and returned to Levi at the hotel. He was cleaning his silver guns and making sure it was all good to go when I walked.
"Hey, Hanji," he calls out to me, "any luck?"
I nod my head, plopping myself on the couch and turning the TV on. "Yep. You'll be surprised to know how much information they gave to me because I was pregnant."
Levi freezes when I said that. He turns to me, raising an eyebrow cutely. "You told them you were pregnant? Hanji-."
"I didn't say a word about me being pregnant. The woman complimented me about how I was glowing and asked if I was pregnant. I said yes, and they gossiped about everything with me. I would have filled out an entire notebook of the gossip they had stored up in their heads. It was wonderful, Levi. Maybe you should take me out more."
Levi sighs, nodding his head. "Fine. But once you get around 6 months, you're not coming with me anymore. Got it?"
"Fine..."
"Any clues about who the werewolf is?"
"I found out about the pack. This time, they're living on a farm called Grinse Farm. An old farm that has been passed down in the family. Currently, the owner is a 100-year-old man named Oscar Grinse."
"Impressive."
"No one has seen Grinse for decades. Lately, they have seen younger people around. They claimed to be his great-grandchildren despite the neighbors whispering that Oscar didn't have a wife. I think that's a very good place for werewolves to plant a pack. An old man that's still paying the bills with young people everywhere? And the fact that the owner hasn't been seen lately... sounds like a great place to start, right?"
"It does. I'll go now."
"Eh? But it's getting dark!" I began to plead for him to not go. "Please, it's dangerous at night!"
"I'll be fine. I don't want any more people to die to this pack."
"Levi, trust me! They're dangerous! Let's just wait until morning. Please..."
He sighed, checking his phone before scratching the back of his head. "Fine... I'll wait until morning. But you're pregnant... and I don't want you to go out to that farm. It's dangerous-."
"Levi, do not underestimate me."
"I'm not underestimating you. I'm scared for you. If something happens to you or the baby... I don't know what I'll do. Please, I'll stay here until morning, but once that sun rises, I'm leaving to the pack, okay?" There's nothing I can do to convince him to let me go with him to the farm. I know what he's doing is out of love... but something bad is going to happen... I just know it... "I love you, Hanji..."
I murmur the words back to him before laying on my side on the couch. I sighed, running my hand over my baby bump, contemplating what to do next. I had to go to the farm... I just had to... there's no doubt about it...

Levi's POV
I kissed her cheek as a way of me saying good morning and goodbye to her. She twists and turns in bed before she finally looked at me with a smile. "Levi..."
"I'm going to go now, okay? I'll be back."
"What? No, no, no-."
"Please, this time, I'm not asking for you to stay. Hanji... stay here."
She sighed, and I feel like she is thinking about something... but I don't know what. "Okay..."
I kissed her lips, pushing her back into bed. "I'll be back soon, okay? I promise. Stay safe. I love you, Hanji."
"I love you too, Levi..." She smiles softly as I leave the hotel. I need to hurry my ass up and eliminate the threats... that way I can spend the rest of the day with Hanji. Maybe we can do it in bed...

I found myself sneaking up to the farm. It was eerily silent when I approached there. Without making a sound, I hastily made my way towards the farmhouse, sighing softly. I couldn't find anyone in there. But it seemed like a trap. I promised I'll be back to Hanji... so I had to do my best to get back alive-
Out of the blue, a shovel was slammed against my head... and I fell on my back, seeing stars. My fingers twitched a bit as I tried to get up. A farmer-like person walked up to me with a grin, "We got him! And a hunter at that."
"C-Can we kill him, Daddy?" A female voice comes up, "I would love to eat his heart out!"
"Not yet," says the first guy as a different man walked up. "He needs to suffer for killing our kind."
The last thing I saw was the bottom of someone's shoes before I saw blackness. I just want to be back to you, Hanji...
