Chapter 32: Preparations

Levi's POV

I didn't mean to freak her out. "A-A wedding?! Already?! How soon?" She began to rant under her breath as she shook her head. "It's so soon... is it alright?!" As she was panicking, I kissed her lips, running my hand down her back, hoping it'll calm her down. Most of the time, it does.

"Calm down. I agree that it's soon... and I admit that I'm not some sort of husband. Isn't it just being a boyfriend, but making vows to ensure you don't leave each other?" I know it's not the same thing, but I love seeing her smile and gently berate me about how it's no different. I'll do it just to see her smile.

As expected, she scoffs as she closes her eyes. "Those aren't the same thing..." That smile of hers appeared...

"But it made you forget the stress for a little bit, didn't it?" I kissed her again, seeing the children running around with toys dragging behind them. They were making such a mess... do I have to deal with messy children like them? Is our child going to be like that...? I hope not. They better clean up their mess. "Come on, mind if I take you away from the pups?"

Hanji nods her head, following me. Children are so... needy. The second Hanji got to her feet and towards the door, the children caught wind of what was going on. They began to run towards her, pleading for her to stay. Hanji had to promise that she'll be back before they could utter a word. Of course, children being children said the word, wanting her to be back. She had to change her promise that she'll see them at lunch.

We began to walk towards her dad's office when Hanji asked me the question I dreaded. "Any new thoughts about the pups?"

"They're messy."

"But they're children. They get a pass. But if they are a teen, they don't."

"But you still leave your stuff a mess in my house, Hanji. As you said, children get a pass for being messy. What's your excuse?"

"I'm a child on the inside?" She smirks a bit, leaning her head on my shoulder.

"That's not a good excuse, Hanji."

"Then... I get a pass because you love me." Hanji kisses my cheek, "And I get a pass because I'm holding your child inside my uterus."

My eyes rolled as our fingers intertwined. "Don't say it like that... not those scientific words."

"Your child is growing in my uterus."

"Stop." Hanji continues to chuckle to herself as we walked into her dad's office to discuss the wedding.

Right now, I'm scared to walk up to him again. I'm sure I said before that I'm not a husband type of person. To bear a ring on my finger to claim myself as taken by Hanji... though it's a nice message to ward off women... that ring is always whispering that I'm forever chained down by a ring. I know that Hanji's thing as a werewolf chains her down to me... so I don't think she's worried about a ring. But to me... it feels more than just a ring. It doesn't feel like a bond... it feels like chains.

A week. Her dad said that we have a week to prepare. Money isn't something we should be worried about because they're paying for everything. Most of the things they're paying to are already owned by other werewolves. It'll be more like a gift from them. Hanji gets a free wedding dress and I get a free tuxedo. And these werewolves take wedding superstitions very seriously. When they were having her fitted into a wedding dress, I couldn't take a peek at her. Not even speak to her directly. I had to talk to her on the phone!

But from the commotion on the phone, I hear the dress wasn't what she wanted. They were going off of her drawings when she was a child and when she dreamed of being married. Is that a thing all girls go through? I know I never went through the phase. Again, it's either because I'm not the type of person to be a husband, or it's a girl thing.

"Is everything okay?" I asked on the phone, sighing softly. "Sounds like a tough time there."

"It is," Hanji admits. "I don't want frills anymore. Nor do I want the puffiness of the dress. It's just so... so... weird."

"What are you thinking of? Maybe I can help."

"Most definitely not!" A woman snaps. I think her name was Nanaba. "You're not allowed to participate in the bride's wedding dress."

"That's a thing?"

"A thing in our pack, hunter." The werewolf hissed at me. I would've thought she was a werecat instead. "She'll be out around 3 or something."

"Wait, really? I promised the pups that I'll be out for lunch!" Hanji cries. "I-I can finish this up tonight. Just let me be with the pups..." Even with that tone, I would've let her go to the children. "Come on, Nanaba, please?"

"You can't return in that dress."

"That's fine!"

Soon, Hanji came out of the room in her normal clothes. Not a trace of whatever dress she was wearing on her. What do you look like in your dress...? Then, I thought of thoughts that should never be in my head. So many things I want to do with her...

"Alright, let's go!" Hanji then jumps into a sprint, running towards the daycare.

"What am I going to do with you...?" I shook my head, walking after her. "I'm getting married to you soon..."
