Chapter 3: Werewolves
???
This is bad... he can't go out there. What they're going to do to him... I have to help him! I bit at the cast, knowing that I can't run fully. He's going to die if I don't get out of here. Looking around my surroundings, I carefully escaped the room. I think I can run back to that werewolf den before he gets there. He can't go in. He'll die... he'll die... he'll die...

Levi's POV
Out of 18 places suitable for a werewolf den, I found myself at this abandoned warehouse. I readied my gun filled with silver bullets and tucked a few silver blades in my jacket. Carefully walking towards the building, I searched everywhere for any signs of werewolves.
The building looked like it would collapse at any moment. But it still had a roof. Abandoned and no one would ever walk here. A stream was a few feet away from the building. And a forest surrounded the place. Perfect. A place for them to drink, a place for them to escape through, and most of all... a place for them to stay.
If there are no werewolves here, then I have no idea where to find them. I'll have to start my search from nothing.
Nevertheless, I entered the building. Listening to the dropping sound of water from the roof, I tried to hear if there were anything else. And... and there was.
Jumped from behind, I quickly slammed by back into the brick wall, hearing the werewolf whimper. Turning around to face it, I quickly shot the silver bullet into its heart, killing it instantly. With the one single shot echoing, I could hear multiple footsteps running at me, and I knew I angered the pack. Howls began to echo down the halls as I see some of them shifting from their human form to their wolf form.
"Dammit..." I murmured, readying my gun, trying to see if I can kill them all with a single bullet. I shot a few of them, fighting the wolves that got close to me with silver blades, jabbing them in the heart. I got a few of them down before running outside.
One of them shifted back to their human form, grinning. "We got a hunter... should be nice to kill a hunter."
I know I was out of bullets, so I had to change it.
"Have you killed her yet? No, that's wrong... I don't smell her blood on you."
"I killed many werewolves, so I might've."
The werewolf scowled, howling to his other friends. Most of them stayed, but only the werewolf that spoke to me and another one ran off. It took me a few minutes to kill off the werewolves that were attacking me, but once they were all dead, I took off for the ones that escaped.

???
That damn hunter... I smelled her on him. Just a bit. Chris and I quickly retreated to Master Dirk, hoping to give him the good news. Walking into his territory, I could smell him coming to us quickly.
"I thought I told you to never come back here until she's here!" The master shouts at us, scowling. "Why have you returned?"
"I think we have found her! She's with a hunter, but I don't smell her blood on him-."
"The one you had ordered the werewolves to kill?" Chris growled at me.
"They couldn't kill him if they-."
"If they what?!" Master Dirk tackled me to the ground, jabbing his fist into my chest. I felt his fingers wrapping around my heart, and I knew I was good as dead. "If she was still alive and you killed the one hunter who would've led us straight to her, I would have your guts spilled out on the ground and fed to the low lives! So, I'm being merciful by letting you die."
My heart was ripped out of my chest, and I felt myself fading.
Master Dirk gave a few more orders. "Chris, bring his body back to the hunter. Use the silver dagger to make it seem that he killed you. Your sacrifice will be honored. We cannot have a werewolf hunter here. Julia! Let's find out where this werewolf hunter lives. I need that wolf."

Levi's POV
Looking around the forest with my gun loaded with silver bullets, I finally found the two of them. One with its heart ripped out and another with a silver blade struck in its heart. Quickly checking myself, I found myself missing a silver blade. What happened to these werewolves? Something doesn't seem right, but I found no evidence of other werewolves in the area. I'll wait one more day here. The full moon is almost here. I'll stay until then. If I find that there's one more murder with their heart ripped out, I'll search everywhere until I am sure there are no werewolves here.
I grabbed my silver blade out of the werewolf's heart, wiping its blood on the grass nearby. Then, I slowly walked back to my car, still aware of my surroundings. Nothing seems to be out of place.
Then, I thought about Annabelle. I hope she didn't wreck anything when I was gone.

On the way to the motel room, I see a dog running in the direction I just came from. I would've thought it was some random dog until I saw its left hind leg... how the hell did she get out of the room?!
Pulling onto the side, I got out of the car and started to shout her name. "Annabelle!" She pauses and turns around, facing me. I see her eyes... "Annabelle, come back here."
She then runs back to me, rubbing her head on my legs. She gives a soft whimper, barking a bit.
"How did you get out?" I sighed, opening the back door. "Get in. Maybe if you didn't wreck the motel room, I'll give you pancakes. You should be okay to eat that right? I don't want to eat a burger at the moment."
Annabelle yelps, almost nodding her head.
"Okay then. But only if you didn't wreck the room."

Returning to the motel room after ordering some pancakes, I see that Annabelle didn't do anything dangerous. I'm still shocked she got out, but I found out that she escaped through a window. I thought every window here was shut closed. Oh well, at least I still have her here.
I lay down her box of pancakes on the ground as I started to take my shirt off. Annabelle whimpered a bit, but when I looked down at her, she was busy eating her pancakes.
"I'm imagining things," I murmur to myself, examining my shirt. A few bloodstains, but it was manageable. "Be good."
I walked into the bathroom, letting the water run until it became warm. I let my shirt soak in the sink as I showered, washing off the werewolf blood. Once I was done, I scrubbed my shirt with soap, hoping to get the blood out. But with no luck, I decided to throw it away.
"The hell are my clothes?"
I searched the bathroom with only my towel wrapped around my waist. Did I forget to bring my clothes into the bathroom? I sighed, walking out of the bathroom to find my clothes.
Annabelle yawns a bit, laying her head down as she looked up at me. Her tail wags a bit before she lowers her head into her paws, avoiding her eyes at me. She seems to be a good dog- sorry, a good wolf. I think I might like having her around. Maybe it'll be nice to keep Petra busy when I'm hunting for these werewolves.
At night when I crawled into bed, Annabelle jumped on the bed, nuzzling her muzzle in the blankets. Sometimes she'll stare at me, sometimes she'll stare at the door. I don't remember seeing her fall asleep.
