Chapter 23: Doubts
Levi's POV
Lunch came and went. At that time, Hanji and I retreated to our rooms to change into our swimsuits. I guess I am some sort of horny person because I always tried to catch a glimpse of her. But all I could see was that one scar from when she protected me. Jeez, that always haunts me.
Hanji finally put on her swimsuit before I saw her pulling a t-shirt over herself. I don't remember what her top was, but she was wearing those bottoms that looks like shorts. It's not swimming trunks. I don't know what it's called... when it comes to women's clothing, I'm lost. Either way, she smiled at me, swaying her body left and right as her hands were behind her back. That beautiful smile of her always lighting up my way...
"You ready?" She asks with her eyes twinkling.
"I am," I say, putting on a shirt. I'll take it off when we get to the pool area. "Still want to hop on my back?"
Hanji smirked as she jumps onto me. "Of course, Levi... you read my mind..."
* * *
Her knees were at my side as we were making out on the steps of the pool. The water was a few inches above our waists as we kissed. Splashing a bit if we made the smallest movement. Sometimes, someone would walk in but eventually walked out. We didn't have to worry about the children because they would've been taking their afternoon naps by now.
She pulled herself off of me after our kissing session. "Something wrong?" I ask her, kissing the top of her breasts.
"Something dirty popped into my head, Levi... is that wrong?"
"No, it's not wrong. I'm thinking of the same thing. Back to the room then?"
"Well, I'm hoping we can just swim like merpeople in the ocean. Too bad I'm not one. Just a silly wolf." She kissed me, forcing me to groan. I'm glad the children aren't playing in the pool... "Would I be better if I was a mermaid?"
"I would think it'll be interesting, but not better. You'll be the same... and I'll love you the same."
Hanji smiled as she passionately attacked me with her kisses when we heard the door open again. We both ignored it, knowing that the person who walked in would simply walk back out and leave the two of us. But it was completely different.
"Miss Hanji!"
I recognize that voice. We both stopped kissing to see Eren covering his eyes. I almost feel bad for him. "Ahh, Eren..." Hanji's hand pushed hard on my chest as she made her way towards her. The water splashed on my face as she walked. "What's wrong?"
"Erwin said he wanted to talk to you, but he couldn't find you. He's waiting in the dining hall, Miss Hanji."
"Thank you for the message, Eren. I promise we'll get you some chocolate ice cream tonight, okay? I promise."
Eren nods his head, tilting his head. "Are you kissing the hunter, Miss Hanji? You really, really like him, right?"
"I do, Eren."
"Miss Hanji, does that mean you and the hunter are going to have babies? You said that babies are only made when people like each other. Does that mean you're gonna have a baby in your stomach?" Eren the gently tapped on Hanji's stomach with a smile on his face. "We're gonna play soon, baby!"
Hanji chuckles, kissing Eren's forehead, "Yes, that's how babies are made, but it doesn't mean we're going to have a baby. It's... it's optional, Eren."
"Op... what?"
"It means we can choose to have a baby if we want to. There's no baby in my stomach. Sorry."
"But if you do have a baby, can I be friends with them?"
"Of course. Now, let's get over to Erwin, shall we?"
"Okay!"
The boy scurried off as Hanji turned to face me, "Sorry, but I'm going to figure out what's going on with Erwin. It shouldn't take me more than an hour-."
"That's fine, I'll go up to the hotel room and shower. Still want to have sex when you get up?"
Hanji smirked a bit, covering her face. "I-If you don't mind, Levi... I'll be quick. Promise."
* * *
"I swear, if I have to explain it again-."
I hear her voice slowly rising when I was on my way towards the elevators. Knowing that her voice was raised and that she was getting upset, I wanted to know what was going on. Call me a curious cat, but I do care about Hanji.
"No, I get it. But a hunter? A hunter, Hanji."
"You can't say anything bad about it. I chose my mate, and I choose him."
"It couldn't have been a werewolf?"
"Why do you want me to have my mate as a werewolf and not a hunter? Who cares if they are human or wolf- I love Levi. Besides, why are you getting upset about it? I thought we agreed that we wouldn't be mates."
Erwin takes a deep breath as he began to speak. "I know we agreed we would never be mates. But I want to look out for you. We've been around humans and we know that they are prone to cheat. If a human doesn't feel sexually satisfied, then they will find some sort of way to get pleasured. How do you know that Levi isn't like that?"
"I just know."
"That's not good enough, Hanji."
"It's not like I can change my mind about it. I already mated with him. You cannot change my mind about him. Is everyone hating the fact that I love a hunter? Levi's doing the good thing- killing the bad ones. Without him, I would never have escaped from Dirk's grasp. It's because of him that I'm still standing here. I love him, Erwin. If you're still scared of Levi, trust me. You trust me, and I trust you. I trust in Levi. Trust me."
"Just be careful."
"I will."
The amount of hell you're getting because of me... maybe it was better to leave you with a broken heart than broken ties with your pack. I should've denied your kiss, your willingness to make me your mate, your boyfriend... but it's because of you, I feel whole again...
"I promise, Hanji, I'm not going to break your heart... I promise that..." I whisper to myself, heading back to the elevators. I'll heal their doubts by proving that I am who I am... and I'm never going to hurt anyone else....
