Chapter 1: New Beginnings

A few months later in the time of The Titan's Curse. . .

The Nine Muses cranked up the tunes. Dionysus grew refreshment stands out of the ground with a beautiful woman walking with him arm in arm. Grover trotted around feasting on tin cans and enchiladas, his goblet filled with a double-espresso latte while muttering: "Pan! Pan!"

The gods and demigods socializing and dancing to the music, Percy wove through the crowds looking for Annabeth. He found her dancing with a minor godling.

"You won't let me down, I hope."

Percy turned to see Poseidon, he was smiling at him, "Dad . . . hi."

"Hello, Percy. You've done well."

The praise seemed to make Percy uncomfortable, "I won't let you down."

Poseidon nodded, "Your friend Luke--."

"He's not my friend," Percy blurted, then bit his lip. "Sorry."

"Your former friend Luke," Poseidon sighed. "He once promised things like that. He was Hermes's pride and joy. Just bear that in mind, Percy. Even the bravest can fall."

"Luke fell pretty hard, he's dead."

Poseidon shook his head, "No, Percy. He is not."

Percy stared at him blankly, "What?"

"I believe Annabeth told you this, Luke still lives. I have seen it. His boat sails from San Francisco with the remains of Kronos even now. He will retreat and regroup before assaulting you again. I will do my best to destroy his boat with storms, but he is making alliances with my enemies, the older spirits for the ocean. They will fight to protect him."

"How can he be alive? That fall should've killed him!"

Poseidon looked troubled, "I don't know, Percy, but beware of him. He is more dangerous than ever. And the golden coffin is still with him, still growing in strength."

"Brother," Zeus called as he walked toward them, he placed his hand on Poseidon's shoulder and whispered something to him, his face pale and grim. The more that was said the stiffer Poseidon seemed to become.

"Percy, please excuse me. Go and find your friends, then meet me in the throne room."Percy narrowed his eyes and nodded slowly, "As you wish, dad."

All of the Olympians seemed to disappear, the party went silent. Everyone could feel something was wrong. The fountain's trickling water was the only sound, the godlings and their guests glanced at each other, sending silent messages.

A hand clamped itself on Percy's shoulder, making him jump.

"Hey, easy Seaweed Brain." Annabeth whispered, "What's going on?"

"If you don't know what's going on do you really think I'm going to know?"Annabeth huffed, "I saw you talking to your father and Lord Zeus, I thought you might have picked up something--."

"My dad said we need to find Grover and meet him in the throne room." Percy replied, "I don't know what that's about."

Annabeth rolled her eyes and grabbed his hand, pulling him through the crowds,"Come on, let's go find Grover."

They found Grover by a enchilada stand, scarfing down as many as he could. He seemed to be unaware of what was going on around him.

"Wow, real surprise there." Annabeth sighed while Percy struggled to stifle a laugh.

He walked over to his friend and pulled him away from the enchilada stand as Grover howled: "NO-O-O-O! MY ENCHILADAS! THEY NEED ME!"

"Oh hush Grover!" Annabeth snapped as eyes of the other guests migrated over toward them. "Let's not make an unneeded scene."

Grover sniffed and nodded solemnly as they dragged him off to the throne room.

"You know, dude you can use your legs." Percy grunted."You dragged me away from my enchiladas, you will have to carry my weight and all the enchiladas that I have eaten."

Annabeth smirked slightly, "Percy, he does have a point."

"He has no point! How about you try dragging him!"

"Oh I think you've got it covered."

The trio entered the throne room, they expected to see all the Olympians there, but were surprised to see only Zeus, Poseidon, and Athena. The tensions escalated in the room as they entered, Athena stepped forward and waved her hand. A door was created on one side of the room like a little pocket dimension.

"Go through there and make yourselves comfortable. There is already someone in there that you will recognize." She said.The three nodded with pits in their stomachs and wearily walked to the door. Percy glanced back at the three Olympians before flinging open the door.

"Percy!" A woman ran over to Percy and gave him a bone-crushing hug."M-mom?"

Sally smiled, "Oh thank gods you're okay! Annabeth!"

She ran over to the daughter of Athena and gave her the same hug, "How are you?"

Annabeth laughed, "I'm great, thank you."

Sally smiled and looked at Grover, "And how are you, Grover?"

Grover grumbled something about 'enchiladas' and 'Percy can go to the crows', then walked to a corner of the room to sulk.

"Aw come on man," Percy sighed, "Those enchiladas were about to go extinct."

Grover grumbled something again and turned away.

Sally frowned, "Wha--."

"Don't worry, it won't last long. He had a double-espresso." Annabeth chuckled and looked around the room. "Wow . . ."

The pocket dimension was fairly big in size with a black leather couch in the middle of the room and a nice size flat screen television. An aquarium filled with exotic and extinct creatures made the back wall and extended back as far as the eye could see. The ceiling represented the sky above them, giving off light for the room. Percy uncapped Riptide and poked the sky ceiling, making it rippled like water, the moon and the stars dancing as it glided across the waves. There was several armor and sword stands with deep sea fishing equipment and a Trident hanging up on the wall like a trophy.

"Well, we know who designed this room." Annabeth said, "Some of it's not exactly my taste but the aquarium and ceiling are a very nice touch."

Percy smiled and walked over to the aquarium, as the creatures swam by they would dip their heads and would say: Good day, my lord.

Annabeth sat down on the couch and sunk so far down and backward it looked as though the couch was trying to swallow her whole.

Sally sat next to her, "Do you know what we are waiting for?"

Annabeth shook her head, "We are just as lost as you are."

Percy slowly walked around the room, their voices were distant to him. A huge shark came to the window of the aquarium, its void like eyes focused on the son of Poseidon.

My lord, is everything alright?

Percy didn't answer, his eyes were clouded and glassy. His hand ran down one of the swords in its stand, it was different from all the others it seemed.

My lord, said the shark again, My lord, I wouldn't be touching that equipment. They pertain memories, memories of the past and the future to come--.

"How can they be memories if they haven't happened yet?" Percy breathed in a soft whisper.

What the future is to you is the past of someone else. My lord, I must insist you step away from those relics! Armor and swords see all in battle and while with their owner, they also have memories . . . My lord!

Percy crouched at the base of the sword stand and read the tag: Anaklusmos

"Riptide . . ."

His mind went blank as he ran his thumb over the inscription, a shock shot through his body as one of the swords memories burned through his mind.

The room was dark and damp, a dim light shone onto a metal chair in the center. There sat a boy, tall and muscular. He looked around sixteen, seventeen years old with jet black hair hanging in his face, his head hanging over his chest and slumped over. Metal clamps secured him by his wrists, ankles and waist to the chair. His hair was matted with blood, clothes turned to rags. Instruments of torture hung from the ceiling, swinging back and forth from rusty chains. A silver table off to the left of the boy held many knives, dirty needles, and syringes. The white cloth holding the instruments was stained in scarlet streaks.
"You are never going to learn, are you." Said a voice as the chamber door opened and closed with a loud CLANG.

Percy groaned and withdrew his hand from the stand and stood slowly. He held his head and closed his eyes which were now clear, the only abnormality was that they were bloodshot.

The shark sighed, I told you, my lord. Don't go screwing around with the unknown. The living aren't the only ones that have memories.

"Yeah," Percy grumbled, "Thanks for the tip."

"Percy?" Annabeth looked at him from the couch, both her and Sally frowning in concern, "You okay?"

"Yeah, just a minor headache." Percy stared at the sword stand for a moment, what had he seen?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey! Okay, it's the summer so I'll have more time to write! :) This story will probably become my main story because I have some plans for this particular one. It will end up being a 'Reading the Books' story because I have figured out a way to use the actual books but also give all the credit to Rick without it being a copyright violation. I will explain how to do this in my next chapter and how it is not a copyright violation. It's simply put but it requires a lot of hard work and an EXTREME amount of time so I may be slow to update because of what I have to do along with the revising and editing. I may create an authors note to explain it all in step-by-step format, and I will also present a defense for anyone who may try to report the story. I hope it will help.
So! Anyway hope you like the chapter, please R&R and if you find any mistakes please notify me so I may fix it.
