You were without a care in the world when you woke up. It's a special day today. You went out of your room to be greeted by a happy looking Sasha.

" Happy Birthday (Y/n)!" Sasha greeted you. " So do you have food to celebrate?"

" No Sasha but thank you for greeting me!" You said with a smile. You two walked to the cafeteria while Sasha ate a bread.

When you sat at the usual table you ate on, all your friends greeted you, with you saying thank you to each one of them. For the first time, no one was teasing you. This is a good day.

" Here (Y/n). I prepared a cake." Mikasa said.

" Really Mikasa? Thank you!" Sasha said before you can even say thank you yourself.

You all laughed at Sasha who already was eating a piece of the cake.

" Wait. I'll just go the bathroom." You said and got a bunch of okays.

When you're business in the bathroom was done, you looked at the mirror and brushed your hair with your hand.

" Hey (Y/n) are you there?" You heard Eren say.

" Yeah Im here Eren!" You went out of the bathroom and saw Eren standing there. " What's the matter?"

" Happy Birthday! I got this for you. You can open it now if you want." Eren said.

You started to open his gift and saw a pink dress inside.

" Wow Eren! Its beautiful! Thank you!" You said while placing it over you and twirling around.

" You're welcome. Lets go. Maybe they're all wondering where we are right now." Eren said.

Just as about you were going to reply, you heard a thud in the distance and saw a shadow.

" Go first. I'll just meet you there." You said and he agreed. You started to walk to the place where you saw a shadow. You spotted something that was wrapped with paper.

You started to observe the package, it was poorly wrapped. Maybe the one who dropped this learned to wrap for the first time. There was a small handwriting that you couldn't understand so you started nearing it to your eyes. You saw a messy handwriting that spelled 'Levi'.

You started to walk to the dining area and sat next to Eren. As you were eating, you glanced at Levi who was looking extra scary today.

" Corporal?"

" State your name and business." Levi said.

" Its (Y/n). I have to something to give you Sir." You replied.

" Come in." He stated.

You entered and saw him in his desk doing paperwork.

" I found this and I think its yours." You said and gestured to the package you were holding.

" How did you know that it was mine?" Levi said as he stopped writing and looked at you.

" I saw you name on it."

" Tch brat. Don't return it." He said.

" What? Why?" You asked.

" Its yours." He said which surprised you. You started to make out the small writing on the top.

To: (Y/n)

" You can open it if you want but its not really-" Levi said but you already ripped off the wrapping and saw a teacup inside.

A teacup? Oh Levi.

You laughed at his cuteness.

" Thank you Corporal! I like it." You said.

It had a symbol of a flying bird at the bottom which reminded you of the wings of freedom.

" Its not girlish as Yeager's gift though." He said with a glare.

He saw Eren's gift?

" Its beautiful." You said while looking at him.

Before any of you can say another word, a knock on the door was heard.

You opened it and saw Armin.

" Oh (Y/n). Hange told me you would be here! I saw this at the front door and it was for you." Armin said and handed you a letter.

" Thank you Armin." You said as he nodded and went of.

You opened the letter and somehow you started to get nervous. Tears filled your eyes as you started to read the letter.

Dear (Y/n)
We are sorry to be the bearers of sad news, but your mother passed away this morning from a sickness that is still unknown.We will hold a graveside service tomorrow. Please come if this letter reaches you.
-Your Nephew"

And just like that, your birthday turned out to be a disaster.
