The cold wind blew, sending shivers down your spine. You still weren't used to the cold air here. You climbed down the tree that you rested upon, hearing a loud thud when you finally reached the ground. You were in the surface now.

After your dad died, you and your mom wanted to start a new life. Fortunately, you still had relatives from the surface that made it possible for you two to live here. You're still sad when thinking about your dad but you were moving on, slowly. Just like how you got over Levi. You never saw Levi again after trying to give the letter, you didn't know what happened to him.

3 years had passed by with you living here.

For those 3 years, you trained to be a soldier. You decided to be part of the Survey Corps and today was the day that you will go to the headquarters. They considerately let you visit home first.

You decided to be a member of the Survey Corps because of your friend, Eren, who you just met. He really persuaded you with his words and determined eyes.

You opened the door of your house and went to your room packing your things.

" Sweetie?" Your mom said

" Yes Mom?" You responded while still packing.

" Someone from the Survey Corps called and said that there will be a coach waiting." After she said that, there was a knock at the door. " Looks like they are here already. Are you sure about this (Y/n)?" 

" Mom I know its dangerous but don't worry about me anymore, I decided to do this. Just worry about yourself while Im gone okay?"

" I'll miss you (Y/n)." Your mom said while her eyes started to be filled with tears as she pulled you into a tight hug.

" I'll miss you too mom." You returned the hug and there was another knock on the door. Your mom let go as you got the bag that you packed. " Bye mom. I'll be back."

You went outside and climbed up the coach. It started to move, you saw your mom waving as you disappeared into the distance.

" We're here." Someone said.

That phrase was repeated again and again until you jolted awake. You looked around and you realized that you were still in the vehicle. You climbed down and saw that you were already infront of the headquarters. Your blood started to pump with adrenaline, you felt excited and nervous at the same time.

You got your bags and walked to the headquarters. You saw other people that looked like they're new here too.

As you anxiously looked around for someone you knew, you spotted Eren, Mikasa, and Armin and you started running towards them, bumping into other bodies along the way.

" Eren!" You shouted to get his attention but you got the unwanted looks of others too. Feeling the eyes of people on you was not your favorite sensation.

" Hey (Y/n)!" Eren said and smiled at you. You sighed as you finally relaxed, shoulders slouching and bumping them with Eren's.

" You finally didn't oversleep this time Eren, huh?"

" Of course (Y/n)! We will be training now and I can't be a bum." Eren said being determined about everything again. You rolled your eyes at him.

" I woke him up." Mikasa said flatly.

" Ha! Still a bum after all!" You said, teasing Eren furtherly.

After a few moments, it suddenly became quiet and you realized why when you looked at the front. 'Commander Erwin' you thought to yourself as you got accustomed to those eyebrows of his.

He started to announce the rules and the designated rooms you were supposed to go to. After that, he shouted, commanded actually, for all the new recruits to change into their new uniforms.

You went inside and expected to see a dirty and smelly room (considering being a soldier was one of the last things that you would consider as a clean duty) but it was spotless clean.

Maybe they have cleaning routines here.

You found the place that you were supposed to sleep in and you set down all the things that you held on a bunk.

You changed in the uniform that a someone gave you earlier and started to struggle with all the straps and belts that you needed to put on.

But when you were done, you were satisfied on how it fit you.

This was it. You're officialy a member of the most suicidal military division.

You walked to the office of Commander Erwin to ask what squad you were going to be in. When they announced it earlier, your name oddly wasn't called out.

" Who is it?" Commander Erwin said from the other side of the door.

" (Y/n) sir, one of the new members. I just have something to ask."

" Come in." You opened the door and immediately saluted him. " Sit down. What is it that you wanted to ask?"

" My name wasn't called out earlier Commander. What squad am I in?" You inquired.

" You have great skills with the 3DMG (Y/n) so we left out those who were like you so we can distribute them in all of the Squads, whether it be Squad Hange, Mike, Dita, or Levi." Erwin stated seriously.

" L-Levi?" You asked. It was ages ago the last time you heard that name. You instantly remembered that day when you were giving the letter. You were rather embarrassed now that you think about it.

But they said that Levi was arrested. How can that be?

Someone walked through the door and guess who it was.

Great.

" Erwin, the reports are done." An oh so familiar voice said. The coldness that you remember was still there. So this is where he was all this time. You warily looked behind you and confirmed that it was indeed him.

" Oh sit down Levi. We were just talking about the squads and (Y/n) here seems to be interested in your squad." The commander stated.

What? You didn't say that at all. But then you remembered that you said his name before he came in. You mentally face palmed yourself.

" Oh so you're one of the new ones that are skilled, huh? We will see about that this afternoon's training." Levi said and walked out the door.

You stayed silent. Upon seeing him, you realized that you still feel that irritable sensation where your heart is completely bursting out of your chest.

" (Y/n)? Im sorry about Levi but he really is quite harsh." Erwin said " But why was he harsher than usual? He never is to newcomers." He mumbled.

Before your thoughts linger to past memories about Levi that weren't actually good to remember now, you slapped yourself with your hands, shocking Erwin in the process.

" I have to get going Sir."

You stood up and saluted once again. After that, you walked down the hallway and went to the dining area only to see Levi sitting and drinking tea. You started to walk out but he suddenly said something.

" Oi Brat! So you're interested in my squad? What's your name again?" He said with a flat tone.

" First of all I didn't actually say that I am interested in your squad and second of all" You turned and looked at him " Y-you don't remember me?"

" Was I supposed to remember you? I never met you before. Have I saved you or something? Well you're welcome." The corporal stated without looking at you.

" As usual, you do look up to yourself huh?" You said and you saw his expression turn from a shocked one to an enraged one.

" Who gave you permission to talk to me like that? Even if you are a newcomer, rules are rules. I am a superior so you deserve to have a punishment. Clean the stables now!" He said as he stared at you with an icy glare.

" Douche." You mumbled helplessly.

" What was that?"

" Yes sir!" You turned around and got the cleaning supplies from the room that you passed earlier.

You started to walk to the stables with a broom and rag on hand. On the middle of cleaning, you put your hand on your chest and clenched your heart. Why was it beating so rapidly even when he was so mean to you?

At that moment you felt someone staring at you. You looked back and saw a curtain move, a very familiar undercut on the view.
