Third Person POV

A dark haired teenage boy was sitting at his usual table in the back of the cafeteria one day. He had a few good friends, but they always sat somewhere else for lunch. Levi didn't mind, because it meant he got to stare at his crush without being made fun of.

There was this girl, and she was perfect to him. He loved her (h/l) (h/c) hair, her big bright (e/c) eyes. Most of all, her stunning smile. Levi absolutely adored this girl, but he knew he would never be able to have her.

For him, he was like a peasant who was in love with the princess of the kingdom. And we all know how that goes, peasants can't marry royalty. Or so we thought.

As he was taking a bite of his salad, he watched (f/n) from across the room. She was sitting with her friends. (F/n) is a fairly popular girl, she's friends with Krista/Christa Lenz, who is the most popular girl in Maria High School.

He soon finished his salad and got up to throw it away. Sighing, he went out into the hallway and headed for the restrooms.

When he walked inside, Levi saw one of his friends, Eld, washing his hands. "Hey, Levi." He greeted. "Hey." He replied, leaning against the wall while crossing his arms.

"So prom is only a few weeks away. Find anyone to ask yet?" Eld asked, drying off his hands with paper towels. "Yeah, but I don't think she would accept my promposal." Levi sighed.

"Why not?" Eld frowned, throwing away the paper towels. "Well, 1, she probably doesn't even know I exist. 2, she's pretty popular. And 3, I'm sure she already has a boyfriend or date for prom." Levi answered, walking over to the mirror to fix his hair.

"So? That doesn't mean you can still try." "Eld, I can't-" Levi turned around, seeing that Eld left. "Gee, thanks." He muttered, leaving the bathroom as well.

*That Night*

Levi was in his room, thinking about what Eld said.

"So? That doesn't mean you can still try."

Levi took his word, and decided he would ask (f/n) to prom.

How do I ask her? It has to be something special so she won't reject me.

He got on his laptop, searching "promposal ideas".

"Tch. These aren't good enough, what should I do?" He said to himself, getting out his phone to call Eld.

After Eld answered, Levi immediately asked him.

"Eld, how do I ask her? I can't think of anything good."

"Um. Why don't you do it the traditional way?"

"That's lame." He responded without hesitation.

"Well, you're on your own with this, Levi. Good luck." Eld hung up before Levi could get more frustrated with him.

*2 and a half weeks later*

Levi was walking in the halls at school, heading to his next class when Eren approached him. "Hey, I heard you were gonna ask (f/n) (l/n) to prom." He smiled.

"Yeah, so?" Levi replied, not looking over at the taller boy. "Well, I heard that no one has asked her out yet. And prom is in three weeks. So you should ask her soon before someone else does."

"I guess you're right." Levi sighed. Eren smiled before walking away to go to his next class.

*Lunch*

"Levi! Are you going to ask (f/n)?" Hanji exclaimed, sitting down next to him. "Why are you sitting here?" He asked. "So I could talk to you about prom, duh." She giggled.

He rolled his eyes. "And yes, I'll ask her out tomorrow before lunch." A faint smile was visible on his face. "YOU'RE SMILING!" She shouted, gaining stares from others.

"No, I'm not." He frowned, the smile vanishing quickly as he looked away. "You're a lucky fellow, she is a very pretty girl. I'm sure she'll say yes." Hanji gave a closed eye smile.

"Yeah, she is." He whispered, blushing ever so slightly.

*That night*

It was currently 8:57 at night and Levi just finished his homework. Sighing, he went downstairs to get something to eat.

He went to the living room first to turn the television on. After flicking through a few channels and seeing that nothing was on, he left the news on.

He made himself a simple sandwich then going over to sit on the couch to watch the T.V.

The news came back on and they started talking about a car crash.

"Breaking news. Two teenage girls were driving home on the expressway, when an unexpected drunk driver collided with with."

"Car wreck?" Levi muttered, looking up at the screen.

It showed an aerial view of the wreck. Both the cars were in a ditch off the side of the road, the (car type) was upside-down in the ditch.

"The male driver, was a 38 year old male, driving under the influence who made it out alive. But severely injured. Both teenage girls who attended Maria High School,-"

Maria High School..? That's my school.

"-were identified as seventeen year old, Petra Ral, who was in the passenger seat,-"

Oh my God..Petra? She's friends with Krista/Christa Lenz.

"-and the other, an eighteen year old, (f/n) (l/n), who was driving the (car color) (car type)."

Petra and (f/n)'s yearbook photos both popped up on the screen.

Levi started choking on his food when he heard (f/n)'s name on the news.

"..(F/N)?!" He screamed when he stopped choking.

"Emergency vehicles were quick to arrive to take them to the hospital, but both girls were, sadly, killed instantly."

Tears were already unnoticeably running down Levi's face as he sat there, in shock.

After a moment, he grabbed his phone, dialing Hanji's number.

"He-"

"HANJI! S-SHE'S DEAD! (F/N) IS DE-DEAD! ALONG WITH PETRA!" He interrupted her.

"..W-what..?"

"TURN ON THE NEWS, THEY GOT IN A CAR WRECK AND N-NOW THEY'RE DEAD!" He sobbed.

"Oh my God Levi.." Hanji cried. "You've got to go down to the scene of the wreck." She added, sniffling.

"I'm already on my way." He replied, starting his car.

When he got there, he jumped out of his car and ran over to the ambulances. He saw a paramedic loading (f/n) into the back of an ambulance.

"C-can I see her?" He asked.

"Who are you?" A paramedic asked. "Levi Ackerman, I know (f/n) from school." He wiped his eye when he felt a tear slip out.

"Go ahead. You got two minutes." He answered.

"Oh my Lord, (f/n)..I'm so sorry this happened to you..a-and Petra." He choked, trying not to cry again.

He held her lifeless hand in his, rubbing her hand with his thumb.

"I'm so, so sorry. I was going to ask you out to p-prom tomorrow before lunch since I heard no one as-asked you. I even had a fucking good idea for a promposal. But that dickhead had to rear end you.

The tears were back, but this time, more of them.

He heard someone approaching the vehicle. Looking up, he saw who must have been (f/n)'s parents.

"Wh-o are you?" Her mother asked him, sobbing.

"I was supposed to be your daughter's date to prom..and her supposed-to-be-boyfriend." He whispered, looking away.
