Always By Your Side (Ghost!Levi x Reader)
You wake up one morning. The bed's empty and you're cold. Your face was wet, and so was your pillow. Eyes still slightly red and puffy. You cried yourself to sleep, barely getting any rest. You look on the other side of the bed, empty. Your eyes welled up and tears rolled down your cheeks. You weren't crying, that was taking care of during the night of crying yourself to sleep, so you only thought you weren't crying. You drew a shaky breath as more tears rolled down your cheeks. You wished he was here. Holding you in his arms, saying soothing words to comfort you. But he wasn't there, or so you thought. Standing at the bedside that you were facing, stood a man. Invisible and non-existent to your eyes. He looked down at you as you stared at that direction where he would normally sleep. It hurt him to see you like this. And he very much remembered the night before.

As you laid in the bed and cried yourself to sleep, he sat on the edge of the bed stroking your hair and telling you everything was going to okay and to just sleep peacefully. But his words inaudible and he was almost non-existent. You didn't feel or hear him. He looked sadly at your figure shaking uncontrollably and the choked sobs that escaped from your lips, it hurt him to see you like this and he almost pleaded for you to sleep. He knelt beside the bed in front of you and stroked your cheek in hopes you would sleep and at least feel some presence. He continued to say the comforting words that you could not hear, but your cries of agony slowly died down to just whimpers. He placed loving kisses across your face until you fell asleep fully. He smiled slightly and stayed in that position, watching over you as you slept.

You wiped your tears away and stood up from the bed, taking deep breaths. The man watched you as you go to the bathroom to brush your teeth and take a shower. After that, you come back out to change in some clothes and walked downstairs into the kitchen, the man followed and walked beside you. It was quiet. The house was quiet. You sighed deeply and opened the cupboards to get coffee beans. You then see a box of tea leaves. His tea leaves, it was his most favorite. You close the cupboard and began to make your coffee. The man sat at the small circular table in the kitchen where he would usually sit. You get your coffee done and sit in the seat next his. You sipped your coffee in silence as the man watched you. You took out your sketchbook and looked out the window in front of you. You begin to sketch, looking up at the window and back down at your sketchbook from time to time.
It was sunny outside and cheerful. But what you drew was the opposite. You drew that it was raining outside and gloomy. You scowl slightly as you rip the page out of your book and rip it several times and throwing the pieces of paper forward carelessly. The man would've yelled at you for doing such thing, and you knew too, but watching you as you placed you hand above your forehead, practically you eyes hidden under the shadow of your hand, and elbow resting on the table; he wouldn't even bother. He could see tear drops roll down your cheeks as you sat there motionless. Taking heavy and steady breaths and once more wiping the tears away, you stand from your seat and walk towards the front door.
You get your shoes on and got your car keys as you made your way out of the house. Getting in your car and into the driver's seat, the man sat in the passengers seat and watched you. You started the car and pulled out of the driveway and drove away. The drive was silent as you stared blankly out at the road ahead of you. The man continued to watch you as his attention trailed towards your face. Dark circles were seen under your eyes, and you eyes still slightly red. But still god damn beautiful to him. You reach a cemetery and parked in the small lot. Stepping out of the car and closing the door behind you, you walk towards the gate that led to the rather larger cemetery. Gravestones across the land, rows and rows of them. You walked solemnly past the graves. Each grave you past, sat a person on a grave. Their eyes followed you as you headed to a specific grave. You arrive to the grave and looked at the writings on it.

The words on the stone pierced your heart critically as you tried very heard not to cry. A lump started to form in you throat,"Hey, Levi..."You greeted as your voice cracked slightly, looking sadly at the grave as you bared a weak and sad smile. The man, Levi, looked at you and back at the gravestone. He lets out an inaudible sigh as he ran his fingers through his raven locks. He stood next to you, looking at his own gravestone as their was silence. Other spirits watched solemnly at the two of you, whispering inaudible words to another that only he and they can hear. You sigh and sit down next to the grave and laid back, looking at the clouds. Levi laid down in the grass as well, in the spot above his coffin as he too looked at the clouds with you. "That cloud looks like a turtle...."You say quietly as you pointed at a cloud. You imagined he was there with you, even though he was. You let out a soft and sad laugh,"If you were here right now, you'll say it looks like a piece of shit..."You smile weakly as you imagined hearing his voice saying that ever so bluntly, that made a lump form in your throat slightly. He lets out a in audible chuckle and smiled slightly.
"And that cloud,"You say pointing at a cloud, a few tears slipped down your cheeks,"Looks like a baby..." You sniffed and wiped your cheeks as more tears fell,"Why did you have to go so soon, Levi...?"You asked quietly in a shaky voice, more tears fell and you cried a little. Levi looked at you and sat up and laying on his side. He stroked your cheek with the back of his hand, attempting to wipe those tears away, but he couldn't. He wished that he hadn't died from a car accident, so that way you two would've had a child together. Levi died just a couple of weeks ago. And during those weeks was just you crying and mourning in agony and pain. Levi was there during those times, and he couldn't do anything to help make the pain go away. But he watched over you, almost like a guardian angel. He looked at you hand and placed his ghostly hand on yours, attempting to hold it tightly and comfortingly. He leaned over to your ear and whispered something. From what you have sworn it was just the wind, with tears falling, you couldn't help but smile a little to yourself as you thought the words he would be saying to you at that moment.
"No matter what, I'll always be by your side...."
