A/N: CHRISTMAS BREAK!!!! The feeling of liberation has gotten ahold of me, so I figured... why not update for you? I was gonna do it early, but what with the preparations of Christmas and all, I got busy. Plus, I believe that this is the chapter we've all been waiting for.

Rain... what a beautiful and horrible thing of the world.

The sound of raindrops echoed throughout Levi's apartment as he drank his evening tea. Well, technically, it wasn't exactly an apartment, but a temporary living space within a 1 mile radius from the SC base. Just last year, the queen helped build some fancy dorms near the Survey Corps castle base so that they could hurry into action if there was an attack, but have a comfortable living space.

Within Levi's spotlessly clean (surprise, surprise) apartment, there had been nobody there except for the confused captain, whose day had most definitely quite a surprise. Yes, it was still the same day of lunch with the queen, so yes, this was the same as the day of when Petra broke things up with Auruo. And to truly sum things up of what happened after that little... moment; Auruo never came back, Petra came back with a face full of sadness (yet no tears whatsoever), everything was awkward throughout dessert, Heichou came back here and it rained, where he sat in a broody manner with broody thoughts.

Why did she break up with him?

What does that mean for him?

Should he feel happy for himself or sad for his comrade?

But trust me, all of those questions were slowly answered when he heard a knock on his door. Levi was just about to put it all aside and read or something when he heard three little taps on his door.

Perhaps it's Hange, or maybe Eren, Levi thought to himself as he opened the door. But it was neither of them. Instead, in the entrance, much to Levi's surprise, was a wet and cold Petra Ral.

"Heichou, may I come in?" Was all Petra asked. Scratch that, it was if she didn't ask, but said, considering she walked in anyway. Regardless of the rude gesture, Levi ran and got her a blanket and a towel, upon which she dried herself off before wrapping the blanket around herself.

"What were you doing out in this rain?" Levi asked.

"Walking here," Petra replied.

"What for?" He asked, but he already had a hunch on what.

"I-I-I wanted to talk about what happened at that the lunch," Petra replied, confidently, but with a hint of a stutter due the shaking caused by the cold.

"Oh really?" Levi said, his expression growing angry, "Do talk then, because what the hell happened back there!? Why would you dump Auruo in front of everyone? In front of the QUEEN, for crying out loud!?"

"I didn't mean for it to happen like that!!" Petra replied, raising her voice a little, "It's just that Historia and Hange started bombarding me with questions, and one thing lead to another, and-AAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Regardless of the girl's screaming, Levi remained unfazed.

"It's not like you two worked together, because you most definitely didn't," Levi said, "But seriously? That's your explanation!!?? Hange puts everyone on the spot, in case you've forgotten. You just have to tell her to shut her trap!"

"Well, I'm sure its's easy for you, Captain I-Hate-Everyone-And-Everything-In-This-World-And-I-Have-No-Problem-Saying-It!!!" Petra shouted, shocked at her words but spoke regardless, "You have it easy!! You're practically Hange's advisor! But me? I'm just GODDAMN FODDER IN HER EYES, SO IT WOULDN'T BE HARD TO FIRE ME!!!"

Levi just stood there, stunned. He had never seen Petra like this, for she had always been this kind woman in the eyes of everyone. And he also knew that she was half-right in some things, like how Hange's biased opinion could somewhat excuse him of his misdeeds, but Petra wouldn't be so lucky.

"Petra, I-"

"I don't even know why I am here anymore," Petra said before bolting towards the doorway, only for Levi to grab her hand.

"Yes you do," he said, "I just haven't given you time to say it."

They stood there in that position for a minute or two before Petra turned to face him, her amber-eyes kind, but firm at the same time.

"Remember the night before the 57th Expedition, when I told you...."

"That you loved me," Levi replied, causing Petra's eyes to widen, "I could never forget, because after that-"

"That thing between us happened," Petra finished for him, causing the two to sink back in memories.

*Flashback*

The corridors of the SC base were eerie at night, but Levi was never gonna show it, regardless whether he was alone or not. Putting up an intrepid face became a habit, which continued into his life after he left the Underground district for good. But that habit wasn't the exact thing on his mind right now, nor were the creepy halls.

According to the castle's layover plans, these were where Squad Levi slept, each having their own rooms, apart from Eren, who was kept in the basement/dungeon. He needed to find her, as she became his insomnia after her revelation, even though it wasn't long after Petra's visit. He tried to go to bed immediately, but to no avail. So upon staring at the map, with nothing but candlelight to help him see, Levi finally found the oak door was looking for. The door to her room.

He knocked quietly before waiting at the front of the door, expecting a long wait, but his heart jumping when the door opened, revealing Petra, who had changed into her nightgown.

"Heichou, what are you-" She was surprised when Levi just blew out his candle and threw the holder into her room, but she was extra surprised by the next action. Because after that, Levi straight-up leaned in and kissed her.

Though she was heavily surprised at first, she soon melded in with the action and asked back. Soon, the two ended up in her room. One thing lead to another and... well... you know. (A/N: I'm sorry, but I don't do lemons. Or limes.)

*End Of Flashback*

"And throughout my mission, and coming home again, I couldn't help but feel a connection between us," Petra continued, "But I didn't want to say anything."

"Why?" Levi asked.

"Because I thought what if that meant nothing to you," Petra replied, "That was probably just some one-time fling to get your mind off of the expedition."

"Petra, seriously, what kind of a b***ard do you think I am?" Levi replied, sounding just a little bit hurt, "I died the next day when I found your body!! I loved no one else like I loved you!! I literally love no one else except for you!"

"Wait, what did you say to me?" Petra asked, her eyebrows raised.

"Nothing," Levi said.

"No, I heard you say that you loved me," Petra said quietly, praying she didn't sound like a yandere, "Do you mean it?"

"I didn't kiss you earlier this week for nothing, you know?" Levi replied, "And it sounds like that you still love me."

Petra looked down at her shoes for moment before looking up at Levi, straight in the eye with no fear.

"I do," she replied, "And now you know the reason why I broke up with Auruo. Well, the paurtial-reason anyway."

"Wait, one more thing," Levi said, "If you loved me, why did you say yes when Auruo asked you to the ball?"

"One, I didn't want to hurt his feelings," Petra replied, "And, like I said, I didn't know you loved me back.

"Well, now you know everything," Petra said before walking out the door, but before she could do anything, Levi grabbed her hand and held her close.

"Before you go, I've been waiting to do something for a long time," he said.

"And that is-"

"This." Levi had then kissed her, upon which she quickly kissed back. It may not have been their first kiss, but it was practically just as magical as the first two. He didn't know how long it was until he broke it off, but one thing's for sure, they didn't have to ask each other to be boyfriend and girlfriend after that. Just one look into each other's eyes was all that mattered.

"Oh, and like I said before, just call me Levi when no one else is around," he told her, upon which she put his forehead on his and smiled.

"Ooops, I forgot," she giggled before kissing him again.

"Of course you did."
