Chapter Seven: A Cup of Tea and a Chat

Author's Note (Please Read): I promised that I would update "Shock" every Saturday (Because those are the days where every new episode of Season 2 comes out), so I am going to keep that promise. But sorry if this chapter is shorter and a bit more... boring than the others. I needed to think up some ideas.

Also, Eren is going to make an appearance in this chapter. I haven't been giving the guy some attention, so I figured I would. Plus, two VITAL things you must know!! I do not, I repeat, DO NOT, ship Eren x Levi (or Ereri, as you say it). To me, they are just friends. Plus, since one of my other SNK/AOT OTPs is Eren x Annie (please don't hold it against me), there will be a little Eren x Annie moment in here. If you don't ship that ship, sorry if this offends you. But if you do, or honestly, you don't care, then read that moment to your heart's consent!! Sorry, Eremika fans.

All rights of Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin go to Hajime Isayama.

By the time Levi got home, his mind was filled with plans on how he was going to bring the original Squad Levi, and what would happen once they met again? Or, if they met again. What if they were all killed by those damn Marleyans? What if they decided to join the Marleyans!? Well, that was probably just Paranoia talking. After all, why on earth would an Eldian join the people of Marley? No, wait. That was actually possible. It was confirmed that all Marleyan Warriors consisted of Eldians, due to their genetic traits as potential Titan Shifters. Maybe Petra and the others abandoned their mission to become Warriors, like Annie Leonhart, Reiner Braun, and Bertolt Hoover. No, not that. Anything but that.

*Time Skip*

"Ummm, Levi Heichou," Levi heard a voice at the door of his office, where he nodded his head to let the visitor know that he was welcomed in.

Levi looked up from his paperwork to see the Titan Brat, Eren Yeager. Over the course of four years, Eren's hair had grown a bit longer, and he had, Levi admitted it, grown a bit more muscular. However, he grew tired as well, what with having only four years left to live thanks to that Titan Serum. Plus, having that, what was it called? Coordinate? Yeah, that Coordinate power was probably stressing him out. Levi couldn't help but feel bad for the poor kid. He was only 19, and yet, he might as well go through the amount of stress an adult feels everyday.

"Come in, Yeager," Levi said in a blank voice, upon which Eren did.

Eren sat down in a chair, despite Levi not telling him that he could be seated. But Levi didn't care about that, honestly.

"What do you want?" Levi said in a harsh voice, but Eren didn't flinch.

"I have a bit of a question," Eren said.

"Ask away," Levi yawned blankly, staring daggers into Eren's eyes.

"Well, if the original Squad Levi comes home-"

"When the original Squad Levi comes home, Eren," Levi interrupted, not wanting to believe that the possibility of Squad Levi being unable to come back somehow.

"Forgive me. When the original Squad Levi comes home," Eren said, clearing his throat, "What will happen to the new Squad Levi?"

"I talked to Hange about that (A/N: During the time-skip, Levi talked to Hange about that), and she said I could have one big squad," Levi said.

"Oh, okay," Eren said, as he stood up to leave, but before he could, Levi called out.

"Yeager, I know there is something else you want to talk to me about," Levi said blankly, as Eren stopped himself in his tracks, "So spit it out already."

Eren stood in place for a while, took at least 40 deep breaths, and walked back to the chair he was sitting in.

"Have some tea," Levi said as he poured another cup of tea into a second glass.

Levi handed the tea to Eren, who replied with a simple "thanks" before sipping it. Levi could tell that the tea calmed the Titan's Brat's jittery nerves, as he looked less stressed out after that one sip.

"So, what do you wanna say?" Levi asked Eren, who turned just a little tense.

"Well, um, sir, if Eldia wins the war with Marley, then what will happen to all of the Marleyans? The Warriors, in particular?" Eren asked, looking even tenser.

The one question that not even Hange and Armin, the smartest people Levi knew, could probably answer. Was it possible to execute an entire nation? Not that Levi was thinking about that. What would happen if Eldia won the war? And the Marleyan Warriors? Well, is it possible to execute them all, or maybe speed up their 13 years? The only thing that could possibly be Levi's answer was this, not-so-reassuring set of words.
"We'll know once the time comes," Levi had replied, "Why do you ask?". He wondered why Eren would ask such a question, knowing Eren's pure hatred for the Marley and all of its people.

"N-no particular r-reason. Just curious," Eren stuttered as he held the half-empty cup in his hands.

Suddenly, the reason why Eren would ask about the Warriors lit up like a candle into Levi's brain (A/N: I don't know if they have light-bulbs in AOT/SNK, so I'm just saying they use candles once it gets dark). Levi bore his navy-blue, orb-shaped eyes into Eren's teal/forest-green ones, which looked very... how would you put it? Out of focus? That's a good one! And another would be...distracted? Yes! Eren's eyes looked out of focus and distracted. However, let's get back to the point. Levi suddenly realized something. Eren asked about what would happen to the Marleyan Warriors, but not because he cared about what happened to them all. Honestly, Eren wouldn't have cared if 99% of the Warriors were executed. Except for one. Eren asked that question, because there is one particular warrior he was secretly addressing. One whom had been part of the reason that Levi's beloved Petra was taken from him. One whom had caused so much damage amongst Stohess District. One whom was keeping herself safe in that damn crystal cocoon comatose, which Eren visited quite frequently...

"You're asking what we're going to do to Annie Leonhart once she gets out of the crystal, aren't you," Levi asked blankly, but curiously.

Eren immediately looked up from the floor, and the color of strawberries, cherries, blood, the sunset, and everything red had spilled all over his face, his cheeks in particular.

"W-what!? N-no, Heichou!! N-n-not at a-" Eren spoke as if his tongue was stuck to the roof of his mouth, but Levi interrupted him.

"Don't lie to me, Yeager!! The MPs and SCs that guard her cell report the happenings every week, so you bet my a** that I know about your weekly visits," Levi snapped, though he didn't mean to be rude, "Plus, whenever she is mentioned, you get that damn blush on your face, and you look like you're about the throw someone if they badmouth her. You are not so good at hiding your feelings, you know."

Eren blushed and stared at the ground as Levi bore daggers into his scalp. Levi Heichou wanted to be angry with Eren for loving such a traitor! He wanted to beat the cr*p out of him for loving the person who took Petra away from him!! He wanted to yell at him for loving such a murderer!! But for some reason he couldn't explain, Levi wasn't angry with him.

"I'm not mad at you, Eren," Levi said blankly, "I hope you know that."

"I do."

"I just want you to be careful. If Leonhart ever comes out of comatose, you may still love her, but she might not reciprocate your feelings. She might hurt you."

"I know."

"Good, and always remember, it's good to follow your heart, but never forget to follow your head when necessary. And like I said, when she comes out of that crystal, then we will know what to do with her then."

"Thank you, Levi Heichou," Eren said with a little smile on his face as he turned to walk away. He stopped at the doorway, before turning his head to face Levi once again.

"Oh, and Heichou?" Eren asked.

"Yes?"

Eren smiled a wider smile and looked Levi in the eye with his forest green eyes.

"You don't have to worry about Petra. I just know she'll reciprocate your feelings for her," Eren replied.

Levi felt another shock-slap to the face again. He stood up from his chair, nearly knocking the tea-tray over, fists pounded on the table.

"How do you-"

"I knew she had a thing for you, and I had a hunch you liked her too," Eren casually replied, "And that was confirmed when I saw that you carved Petra's name onto your ODM gear."

As Eren left, Levi couldn't help but continue to feel shocked and confused as he went to bed and had dreams about Petra that night. He still felt shocked and confused even as Hange annoyingly woke him up from those dreams with her annoyingly loud voice.
