Today was the big day, the day of the next expedition outside the walls.
You were preparing your horse, as you looked around.
It seemed less tense, probably from last night.
'I'm glad that everyone is doing well.' You think, as you strapped on the saddle.
Soon enough, you were on top of your horse, waiting for the gates to open.
"(F/N)." You hear Levi call out, as his horse walks up to yours.
"Yes?" You ask.
"Be sure not to get hurt, it'll be a pain in the ass if you do." Levi says sternly.
You just smile, as you say, "I appreciate your concern, Levi. I promise, that I'll return back home, along with everyone else."
Levi clicks his tounge, as he mutters a small, 'you better.'
You chuckle at his behavior, but soon enough, the walls open, and your expression turns serious.
"Onwards!" Erwin shouts, as everyone begins to move forward.
You, aniki, Levi, and the rest of the squad go one way, as the rest go the other, splitting off.
It wasn't even fifteen minutes, before a titan was spotted.
Luckily, aniki took care of it, before it could have caused any damage.
After riding for a few more minutes, we finally reach the forest.
Everyone switched to the 3DMG, as titans began to appear.
Everyone separated, dealing with their own titans.
You quickly launched yourself onto a branch, and quickly located a titan.
You focused your manipulating abilities on the titan, you began to move, the titan following your action.
You quickly ran along the long branch of the giant tree.
The titan running towards another one, that was getting ready to devour someone.
You made a punching motion, the titan following the action, causing it to punch the titan's head, nearly decapitating it, in the process. You then, made the titan rip the nape of the neck out of the other titan, killing the beast within seconds.
You continued to do this with nearly every titan that came your way.
You were panting heavily, your hands on your knees.
"(F/N)!" Hanji calls out, causing you to lift your head up.
"There are no titans within the vicinity, you can stop now!" She yells.
You nod your head, as you brought one hand to the nape of your neck, and made a motion of sliding your fingers across it, causing the titan that you were controlling to rip its own nape out.
After a few minutes, you regained you breath, as you maneuvered back down to your horse.
"Good job, brat." Levi says, as you ride up beside him.
You smile as a reply, as you, and everyone else began to make your way back to the place to meet up at.
When you got there, you were shocked, you saw that less people were there, some were injured, and had bandages on them, some had blood seeping through it.
"What happened?" You ask Erwin, as he makes his way towards you.
"We were fine, until titans surrounded us. They seemed more intelligent, but, the odd thing was, they weren't deviant titans." Erwin explains.
Your eyebrows scrunched together in confusion, as you tried to figure out what this could mean.
But, once you did, you eyes widened.
"No way." You said under your breath.
"What is it, (F/N)?" Hanji asks.
But, as you went to open your mouth, you heard someone cry out.
This causes everyone to turn their attention to a man on his knees, gripping at his head, as tears stream down his face.
He kept repeating things like, 'we're doomed', or 'we're all gonna die'.
Levi went to move towards the broken man, but you held out your hand, stopping him from advancing.
He looked towards you, as you gave a gentle shake of your head.
You carefully got off your horse, and walked towards the man. Everyone looking at you, as you gently kneeled down in front of him.
He raised his head, as you said, "You've suffered a lot, haven't you? I know you have seen things you wish you hadn't. You have done things you wish you could take back. And you wonder why you were thrown right into the thick of it all - why you had to suffer the way you did. And as you sit there alone and hurting. I only wish I could take ahold of your hand, and show you just how beautiful the world really is. To show you that all is not wrong with the world. To show you that there IS hope. But, all I can do now is wish, as I hold my hand out to you."
You then held your hand out, and say, "So, will you take my hand, and allow me to show you how beautiful the world really is?"
He seemed hesitant at first, but eventually, took your hand.
You quickly stood up, and helped him up as well.
You gave him a smile, as you say, "Now, lets try our best at living, shall we?"
The man smiled, as he gave a nod.
You let go of his hand, as you went back to your horse.
You quickly go on, as your suspicions of the titan's behavior returned, that was when your expression turned serious.
"Erwin." You call out, your voice dead serious.
"What is it?" He asked, just as seriously.
"If my hunch about the titans are correct, then you won't like the results." You say.
"And why is that?" Levi asks.
"Because, I have a suspicion that Deimos is here, and not alone either." You say, looking down in the process, so that your bangs hide your (E/C) eyes.
"Who else would be with him?" Hanji asks.
"Not who, but what." You say.
That was when you heard aniki take a sharp intake of breath.
"Don't tell me-" He starts.
"Yeah, that is with him." You say, finally looking up.
"What are you guys talking about?" Eren asks, confusion in bus voice.
"Remember when I told you about how Deimos harvests mutant abilities, and puts them into a corpse-like being?" You ask.
"Yeah, why?" Eren says.
"Your saying that even though he doesn't have you, he's going to take the chance in using it, in order to get to you?" Erwin speculates.
"Exactly, meaning, we now have to battle something that isn't even human or titan. But, can be deadlier than either of them put together." You say.
Everyone remains quiet, that was, until someone yelled out something.
"Something's coming over the horizon to the east!"
Everyone turned their attention towards the direction, and saw a small silhouette coming towards us in the distance.
But, it soon disappeared.
"What the hell!? Where did it go!?" One scout exclaims, as everyone looks around.
Your eyes widen, before jumping off your horse.
You quickly pull out a blade, and swing at what used to be thin air.
But, instead, the corpse-like being that you saw so many years ago, was in front of you.
You click your tounge, as you shout out, "I know your there Deimos, you can't control this puppet, not without the master being nearby!"
You soon head chuckling, as you turn around, face to face with the one man you've been running away from since the day you were kidnapped.
You glared at the man, as he says, "Its been a while, hasn't it, my little puppet master."
"Don't call me that." You spit harshly, as everyone readies their blades at either the man, or the corpse-like being.
"What do you think of him. Experiment 1-2-2-8, also known as, Weapon X." He cackles.
"It's disgusting. How many mutants have you killed in order to get him to this state?" You ask.
"I don't know, but he does have quite a lot of useful abilities. For example, the ability you just saw. He's able to transport from one area to another, in less then a second." He states, with a shrug of his shoulders, but that was when a sadistic smirk plastered his face as he says, "But, I do know that I need you for the final formula to this magnificent piece of work."
"Why?" You ask, as you raise an eyebrow.
"Simple, your abilities can go even further than what they can now! Once I have you, I can control Weapon X more easily than what I can now!" He exclaims, almost in a delighted manner.
"How are you controlling him, now?" You spit out.
"Ah, ah, ah." He says, waving his index finger.
"Can't tell you, but how about I show you instead." He says, a malice grin on his face.
"Wha-" Before you could finish your sentence, you felt powerful arms wrap around you.
Your eyes widen, as you thrash in the hold of Weapon X, but as you continued to try and fight your way out, you saw a needle in the corner of your eye, before it disappears, and soon, a sharp pain in the side of your neck is felt.
You look around, and saw that everything was getting blurry.
"Sh-it." You cursed weakly, before everything went black.
