It's been a few weeks, after the encounter with Deimos, and surprisingly nothing has happened, yet.
However, Levi had to go into town to get more cleaning supplies, since he ran out. Again.
You decided to tag along, again. Both aniki and Levi were against it, but you convinced them, that as long as you stay with either of them, or the squad, that you should be fine.
They seemed reluctant as they agreed.
Which explains why you were happily walking beside Levi, as aniki, and the entire squad  were tagging along behind the both of you.
After a few minutes of walking, Levi finally stopped, he turned around and gave out a small list to everyone.
"These are the things that are needed at HQ, were going to split up in order to save time. After you get your things, meet up at HQ." Levi says.
Everyone stood still, before Levi snapped, "Well, get going!"
Everyone salutes, before scrambling around, trying to find the stands that sell the things that they were going to get, leaving only you and Levi together.
"Tch, lets go." Levi says, as he begins to walk away.
You quickly follow behind him.
After a few hours of running around the place, trying to buy the things we need, it was already beginning to get dark, and many people were already gone. Leaving only a few people to be scattered here and there.
But, as you and Levi were walking, you saw a silhouette on one of the tall buildings of the market.
You raised an eyebrow, as you called out to Levi.
"Tch, what is it, brat?" Levi asks.
"What's that?" You ask, as you point to the silhouette.
"Looks like a person." Levi says, as he stares at the figure.
"Wait here." You say, as you run behind the building, trying to find a way to climb up. But, the only way up, was by the ladder. That you were too short to reach.
"Oi brat!" You heard Levi call out, but you ignored him.
"Guess I have no choice." You mumble to yourself, as you concentrated on the air around you, and pretty soon, you felt yourself being lifted off the ground.
Once off the ground, you quietly made your way to the rooftop.
The figure was still standing there, as if it were contemplating something.
"What are you doing?" You suddenly ask, causing the figure to jump.
"W-What the hell! How did you get up here?" The figure, now guessing by the voice, is male.
"I came up, wondering who or what the figure I saw was, only to find you here. But, you haven't answered my question. What are you doing up here?" You ask again.
The man takes a closer step towards you, allowing you to see that he was indeed male, probably in his late forties, maybe early fifties.
"I came up here to jump." He said.
"Eh? But, this building is tall, you'll surely hurt yourself." You say, as you tilt your head to the side.
"That's the point. I don't want to live anymore." He stated darkly.
"Why?" You ask.
"Because, I have so many regrets about things. I have no family, no children, no nothing. So, why not end the pain of regrets." He says, as he takes a closer step to the edge.
You then say, "Such is mankind, contending with bitter regrets of the past, obstacles of the present, and uncertainty of the future. Everyone is fighting their own battles as they ceaselessly forge ahead!
Why give up while there's still a path ahead of you!?"
The man's movement stops, as he slowly turns to you.
"How would you know, of my kind of regret?" He suddenly asks.
"I have many regrets, but the best thing I can do, is make up for the regrets that I have. That way, I won't be burdened with anymore, then what I have now." You say, smiling gently at the men.
But, he still seemed hesitant to come off the ledge.
"And, if you say that you have nothing. Then, allow me to give you my friendship. It's not a lot, I know, but its better then having nothing, right?" You ask with a smile, as you extend your hand to the man.
He slowly came off the ledge, and took your hand, giving it a firm shake, as he says, "Will do, friend."
You smile widely at this, but a familiar voice cuts you off.
"Okay, its nice and all that you two brats are friends, but we have to go back to HQ." Levi says, as he walks up to you.
"Who's this?" The man asks, as he points to Levi.
"Oh, that's Levi. A friend of mine." You say happily.
"Wait, you mean ''humanities strongest' Levi?" The man asks, and you nod your head excitedly.
"Then that means you two are in the Survey Corps, right?" He asks, and you nod again.
"Well, its a great honor to meet you, sir." The man says, smiling at Levi.
Levi just clicks his tounge.
"Don't mind him. He's always like this." You whisper to the man, who nods his head in understanding.
"Tch, quit whispering, and lets go. It's already late enough." Levi says, as he begins to climb down the latter.
'Wait, how did he reach the latter, when I couldn't?' You think to yourself, as you climbed down as well.
After reaching the bottom, you jumped off, landing next to Levi, who was waiting for you.
"Not bad, brat." Was all Levi said, before walking away.
"Eh? I just saved someone's life, and all I get is a 'not bad'?" You grumbled to yourself, as you and Levi continued your way back to HQ.
And lets just say, once you were back, aniki was not happy.
Which would explain, why you were sitting in the mess hall, as aniki scolds you like a child, again.
Lucky for you though, Eren, Armin, and Mikasa devised a plan to help you out.
"Nassir!" Hanji calls, as she latches onto his arm.
"Come help me with experiments~!" She whines as she tugs him along.
"Oi, wait, shitty glasses, let go!" You hear aniki shout at her, as she continues to drag him along.
"Thank you." You whisper, as you make your way towards Levi's office, in order to help him with paperwork, which has become a nightly ritual.
You knocked on the door, as the familiar 'come in' is said.
You smile, as you sit across from Levi.
"Your late." He says, not looking up at you, as he continues to write on a piece of paper.
"Sorry, aniki was scolding me for staying out late." You say, as you chuckle nervously, while scratching the back of your head.
"Tch, he treats you like a stupid brat, sometimes. You do realize that, right?" Levi asks.
"Yeah, but that's just his way of showing that he was concerned. Besides, you treat me like a kid, too." You say, as you cross your arms.
"Tch, are you gonna help, or are you just gonna sit there talking to me the entire time." Levi says, dodging the question.
You let out a small laugh, as you begin to help Levi.
After about, two hours, you were done with your pile.
"I'm gonna go to bed, if you don't mind." You say, as you stand, and stretch.
"(F/N)." Levi suddenly calls out.
Your eyes widen, as you think, 'That's the first time, he actually used my name, instead of brat.'
You quickly respond, by saying, "Yes?"
"You did a great job in saving that man's life, by the way." That was all he said, before returning to his paperwork.
Your smile widens, as you say, "Yeah, I'm just happy that I actually made a difference."
With that, you walked out of his office, unaware of the ghost of a smile playing at his lips.
You quickly got ready for bed, and once you crawled underneath the covers, you immediately fell into a peaceful sleep.
