You groggily open your eyes, only to be met with a blurry sight.
You blinked a few times, trying to clear your disheveled sight, and after a few more seconds, it finally cleared, and when it did, you wished it hadn't.
Why, you ask. Its simple really.
Beside your infirmary bed, was both Levi and aniki, glaring at you.
You shrunk back a bit, as you say, "H-Hey."
"Tch, don't fucking 'hey' me, you have a lot to explain." Aniki hisses.
You sat up, as you looked down at your hands, resting in your lap.
"Yeah, I know." You say, still looking at your hands.
"I heard that you purposefully sent most of my squad members back, so that they wouldn't get hurt, and devised a plan where Eld wouldn't be involved in the fight. Is that true?" Levi hissed at you.
"Yeah." You say, still refusing to look them in the eyes.
"You could've died, you know that, right!?" Aniki shouts.
You jump a bit, at his loud voice, but still keeping you gaze locked onto your hands, as you nodded your head.
"If you fucking knew this, then why the hell did you do it?" Aniki asks.
You calmly looked back up, at both aniki and Levi, as you say, "Because, if I didn't take those necessary steps for them, they would have died, and I'm not saying this as an opinion. I know for a fact that if they were to engage in trying to attack the Female Titan, then they all would have died."
They both remained quiet, not knowing how to respond to that.
"So, you just decided to waste you own life then?" Levi hisses, taking both you and aniki by surprise.
"Levi, what's one life against five others. Besides, I knew that I wouldn't have died." You say.
"What!?" Both aniki and Levi shout at the same time.
"Like I said before, I trust both of you." You said, giving them a close-eyed smile.
Aniki just clicked his tounge, before walking out the door, but before he left, he said bluntly, "I expect you to be out of bed soon."
You chuckled, as you said, "Yeah."
"What's your real reason?" Levi suddenly asks.
"Huh?" You ask back.
"What you just said, was only half of the real reason, I expect the other half." Levi states as he crosses his arms.
You smile softly as you said, "Because, I am selfish."
"What?" Levi asks, raising an eyebrow in the process.
"Because, I didn't want them to die. I finally have family, and I don't want to loose them again." Your voice cracked as you say this.
"Again? I though you came from an orphanage?" Levi questions.
"I did, but that doesn't mean I didn't have parents." You say, looking back down at your hands.
"What happened to them?" Levi asks hesitantly.
____________Levi's POV____________
She seemed a bit hesitant to say anything, but (F/N) opened her mouth and said, "I'll tell you, but you have to promise me something."
"Oh, and what's that?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"Promise me, that you won't tell aniki, because, even aniki doesn't know. It's not that I don't trust him. I'm just afraid that he would think differently about me." She says, looking down.
I click my tounge, but say, "Fine, I won't tell him."
"They didn't want me. After all, who wants something like me. Even back then, I was selfish. My mother, didn't even dare try to hug me or comfort me, whenever I cried. My father, refused to even look at me. I was really selfish, so I used my abilities. It wasn't so that I would hurt them or anything. I just wanted them to hug me, or pet my hair affectionately, like what any parent would do. I wanted them to at least think of me as something that they shouldn't fear. But, they got rid of me in the end." She says.
I couldn't say anything, I wasn't exactly one to comfort people.
"So, please-" She began, but her voice was cracking, as tears began to stream down her face.
"Please, don't make me loose my new family, please, I don't want to be alone anymore." She begs, as she begins to sob.
I clicked my tounge, as I lifted my hand up, and gently set it on her head.
"Don't cry. It makes you ugly." I say, as I look away.
I clumsily began to stroke her hair.
After a few more minutes of crying, she finally stopped to the point, that they are nothing but small hiccups.
"They're not going anywhere, so stop your sniveling." I hiss.
She chuckled a bit, as she wipes the last of her tears away.
"Thank you, Levi." She says, as she hugs me.
I stiffen, as she continues to hug me.
She pulls away, smiling, as she says, "Your a lot like aniki, you know that?"
"Tch, don't compare me to that asshole." I hiss.
"You may deny it, but you really are like him. Seemingly cold and heartless, but actually really soft and kindhearted." She says, giggling a bit.
"Tch, whatever." I say, but as I went to take my hand off of her head, she grabs my wrist.
"Can you.....can you please do that a little while longer." She says, as she turns her head to the side, in order to hide her blushing face.
"Tch, spoiled brat." I say, as I continue to rub her head, but she smiles happily all the while.
After a few more minutes of me doing this, a weird grumbling sound fills the silent room.
I look over towards (F/N), and saw her entire face red.
"I-Its not m-my fault I didn't have anything t-to eat." She stutter as she hides her face underneath the blankets.
I let out a small, almost inaudible chuckle, as I get up.
"I'll go get something for you to eat, but I expect you to clean the whole mess hall when your out of the infirmary." I say, as I get up to go get the food.
"Whaaaaat!?" (F/N) exclaims, as I walk out the door, a small smirk plastered on my face.
