   Thank you for the lovely gift you sent, I've been meaning to buy a new cane after my old one broke. My leg still isn't in the best condition, but this will help me greatly. The glass diamond looks lovely as well, it almost looks real.

I'm glad to hear you are safe, it has set us all a breath of relief hearing that. Of course, none of us will truly be at ease until you are back with us after all of this is said and done.

President Wilson said he never wanted to join this World War of ours, and before, I never thought I would agree with him in something. If I had and power to do so, I would call this all back and have our soldiers be back with their family and friends, hoping for no more bloodshed.

But we are humans, we are bound to fight every now and again. No matter, this letter of mine has gone on long enough, I'm only rambling to you now.
