A further two years and Charlie was still writing those letters to Nancy. He still didn't send any of them. The Mulligans had not heard from their daughter for two years more and even they were beginning to give up hope of ever getting their beautiful daughter back. Charlie still had hope.
One day he was in the local market buying some vegetables to take home with him as he was going to England for four weeks to spend some time with his family and to report back on those he had recruited for the Order whilst in Romania.
It was official, the evil scumbag, Lord Voldemort was back and Dumbledore's secret army, The Order of The Phoenix was being reformed with old and new members and the Weasley's, that are of age made up some of the members.
He was going home to see his family, except they were residing at the new Order headquarters, the family home of the Black family along with Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black himself, Belle Florence, Remus' daughter and Fred, Charlie's younger brother's girlfriend, Hermione Granger another friend of Ron's and a few others.
He was just finishing paying for his peppers when her spotted some long brunette hair in the corner of his eye. He turned quickly and followed the woman until she turned around.
It was her.
He was sure of it.
"Nancy?" He asked coming closer to her.
The woman stiffened and Charlie knew he was correct.
"Charlie?" Her voice was quiet but just how he remembers it to be. The man nodded, his lips pursing so that he didn't cry. "What are you doing here?"
"I work in Romania remember," He said, "Why are you here?"
"I just wanted a small break. I didn't realise we would be in the same area."
She lied to him. She remembered exactly what part of Romania he worked in and hoped that he still did. She had left working for Felix and looking after Violet after the news of Lord Voldemort returning. Even though the father and daughter had no idea she was a witch she could not risk either of them getting hurt and resigned, painfully leaving the little girl she had cared for after many years.
It was then that she decided to find Charlie. She had finally worked up the courage to face what she had left behind and visited her parents, telling them everything. Th three cried for hours on end as they shared what had happened to them for the many years that they were not in contact. They understood why she left and called her silly for thinking what she did but nonetheless welcomed her back with open arms.
She had stayed with them for a few months and begged them not to tell anyone of her return as she wanted to be the one to see them first. Hence Charlie was no wiser of them hearing anything from Nancy.
Then after a few months, she collected every bit of courage she had and took a muggle flight to the part of Romania Charlie worked at and every day for a week she had been visiting the market in hopes of bumping into him. She didn't want to disturb him at work and that's why she didn't go to the sanctuary, well, she did but she only went passed it to see if she could spot him. She never did.
Charlie chuckled, a tear slipping down his cheek, "You've never been a good liar, Nance," He told her, edging closer.
Nancy smiled at the small nickname that she hadn't heard him say in a long time, "I know. I'm sorry, I wanted to see you, I have done ever since you left school..." She replied, tears welling in her eyes as her lips began to quiver.
"Then why didn't you?"
Nancy shook her head, "Because I was stupid. I had all these thoughts in my head that are ridiculous but at the time they didn't seem like it and I was ashamed of them. I felt stupid for feeling the way I did and I felt that you all would hate me for it so I stayed away."
Charlie stepped even closer and did something that he had been waiting to do for six years, he slithered his arms around her waist and pulled Nancy close to him nuzzling his head into the crook of her neck like he used to do. "I would never have thought that, Nancy." He whispered.
Nancy let out a breath she didn't even know she was holding and melted into his arms, it had been too long and she regretted waiting so long. "I'm sorry," She cried, tears spilling onto his shirt.
"So am I."

Charlie had taken Nancy back to his house where his trunk was packed ready, just with a few items left to pack the morning that he would be leaving. He put the vegetable in the fridge for the time being and led Nancy to the sofa.
"You're going somewhere?" She asked him in confusion.
"Only home for four weeks, you can come if you like, Tonks will be happy to see you and Bill and Harley," Charlie replied handing her a mug of coffee made the way she always had it.
"You remembered." She smiled sipping the beverage and he nodded, "Wait, did you say Harley? As in Lupin?"
Charlie grinned, "Yup, Bill's lover."
Nancy laughed, "Oh wow! I did not expect that! How?"
"They ended up working together two years ago and got together about a year and a half ago. They work in Egypt as curse-breakers. And to top it off, her second cousin, Belle, is Fred's girlfriend."
"Oh my, Fred actually got a girlfriend?" Nancy snorted.
Charlie sniggered, "Somehow, you remember that Ravenclaw with bright blue hair? His year." Nancy nodded sipping her coffee again, "That's her." She was surprised to say the least but happy for all of them. "Anyway, you don't have to but do you want to tell me why you left?"
Nancy side, putting her mug on the coffee table, "I better had. It's the least I can do. I was selfish and thinking only of myself. Charlie, you went off to Romania, Tonks was off to train as an auror and I had no idea what I wanted to do. My parents were always working and I guess I felt so alone. It was as if I couldn't look after myself, I depended on everyone so much that being alone, I didn't know what to do. I guess this was my way of proving I could look after myself. I was so selfish. I wasn't thinking about how anyone else would be feeling. you guys were on your way to achieving your dreams and I was wallowing in self-pity because I had nothing in my life that I wanted to achieve. So I left."
Charlie couldn't believe his ears, yes it could be seen as selfish but at the same time, he would never think she was selfish. She was lost and didn't know what to do. If he was in her position he probably would have done the same. He couldn't blame her for being sad and acting upon that.
"You weren't selfish. you were young, fresh out of Hogwarts and confused. Nancy, I don't blame you and I certainly don't hate you." Charlie told her, taking her hand in his and rubbing his thumb across the back of her palm.
To Nancy everything seemed to stop when he took her hand, the hug sent her stomach into flittering mode but him holding her hand like he used to do made her stomach do loop the loops. There was no denying that she still liked Charlie, in fact, she loved him but he would not feel the same or so she thought.
"You don't?" She muttered.
"I could never, and Tonks wouldn't either. Neither would your mum or dad."
"I know about my parents, I have been staying with them for the past few months. They wanted to tell you but I begged them not to. I wanted to be the one to. After I quit my job, I just wanted to see you, them and Tonks." She told him, she wasn't prepared to lie to him.
"Why did you quit?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
"They're muggles, I looked after a single business man's daughter the whole time, with this so-called Dark Lord on the uprising again, I couldn't face either of them being in danger for me being a witch. I resigned to keep them safe."
"What are you doing now?"
"Nothing, I'm looking for jobs though." She told him, "But enough about me, how have the dragons been with you?"
Charlie went onto a large spill about working at the sanctuary and even took her to see some of them. They sat down under a tree by Norbert the dragon and Charlie had his arm around her holding her close so that he didn't lose her once more.
"Are you going to come with me?" Charlie asked her after a while or comfortable silence whilst Norbert flew around a bit. It was a spectacular sight and Nancy was mesmerised by it.
"I wouldn't want to intrude," She told him, still watching Norbert.
Charlie shook his head, "You wouldn't be, it would be a pleasant surprise that way me and Tonks get to spend lots of time with you, even though she would also be working."
Nancy sighed, "Okay, I will need to get my stuff from the hotel and get some more things from home too."
"That's fine by me, but I am coming with you." He smiled.
"I wouldn't have it any other way."
Charlie sighed in content, he had her back, he had his Nancy Mulligan in his arms.
