I still can't believe I am talking about him in the past tense. He was my first boyfriend, my first everything. He showed me what the standards can be for dating. Not just from his end, but what a boy can expect from my end, how I can become a better partner.This can be long so sit and buckle up. I met my boyfriend just a year back when I moved to a new city for my job. He was my roommate's good friend. We instantly hit off, you know the friends kind of thing. I am a natural introvert, and he was the total opposite. You can say a match made in heaven. We instantly clicked off. A few days later, he came to our flat to meet my roommate, she was having a call so the both of us went down to play badminton as we had nothing better to do.
When we started talking, we found more similarities between ourselves than I would have expected. It was amazing and he was the first person I had crush outside of my animes. So you can imagine how special it was for me. But it all came crashing down when my roommate said she had a crush on him, and they kind of a thing, nothing exclusive yet but will get there soon.Now get this, I am not the slimmest person you'll find, in other words, I am obese, and always have been since birth. I do follow a healthy regime and everything but when it is hereditary it is hard to lose weight. My roommate is slimmer than me, so when she said this all my insecurities came back with a bang. I was like of course, why would he like me, she is his school friend who knows him better, the speak the same regional language whereas to talk to me he has to switch languages. So I instantly shot myself down and I left it there. Since this was just the time for post covid, the work from the office was not that strict and I came back to my parent's home for a month to celebrate the new year with them.During that time, came the calls from my roommates in which all I heard about was the drama and relationship and continuous arguments which went on between them. Now his call also came one day, let's call him Yuvi. So he was explaining what had happened and I tallied it with my other two roommates, they also verified it as true. Then I came back, and you know exploring the nightlife and everything. At the same time, you get the disconnect when you don't speak the native language of one place. More than my roommates or other friends, he was the person who said, do whatever you want to do, in this city no one can touch you without my permission. And as strange as it sounds, I believed him wholeheartedly. Due to his good nature, and ability to charm people he had contacts with a lot of who's who in that city. So he had evidence to back it up and he showed that multiple times.
