Dear Miles Cade,

I didn't get a letter from you yesterday, but I understand. You're doing what I told you to do, which was to have fun, and learn. I'm writing this at two thirty in the morning because I couldn't sleep, at all. It's not that my day was bad; in fact it was really nice.

It started off with eating breakfast with my family and they were relived when they found out I was single. My mother and father didn't know about Mason's aggressiveness, but they knew he was an asshole. Bradley had texted me from under the table that the cops aren't going to do anything unless something physical shows and is still there to see. So, no juvie for Mason or getting in trouble, but I'm just relived that it's over with. At least I think it is...

Anyway, I was hanging out with Riley, who asked me about you, and I told her that you were too busy focused on school to date. She was really sad about it, but I really hope she ends up with Ryker in the end because if she does, you my handsome friend owe me twenty bucks. I tried to hint at Ryker, but it was like she was avoiding the topic of him entirely!

Oh! Before I forget, I'm going over to your house tomorrow to visit your room. Okay, that sounds creepy, but you've been my best friend for four years. I already told your parents the real reason and they said it was all right. You'll know why I'm doing this soon and maybe, just maybe, you'll fall in love with me.

I'm kidding. You're probably surrounded by tons of girls on that small boat of yours. I bet the reason you didn't write was because you were too busy trying to teach them how to fish. Well, you know who taught you how to fish anyway? Me.

P.S. please, please, I'm begging you don't use your pick up line, "Are you an ocean? Because you rode a wave right into my heart" on any of the girls. It won't work. It didn't work on land and it won't work on the sea. I'll write you tomorrow.

I'll be thinking of you always,

Piper Cheyenne
