Miles Cade's POV:
My eyebrows furrowed, my gaze went straight toward the beautiful, I might add, young woman standing across the room. It's strange, I feel as though I know her. She's staring at me with tears filling her eyes. Was I the cause of those tears? It pains me to see her that way, but I don't know why it pains me.
She gave me a smile, but I did not return one.
"It's nice to see you again," She started to say, "I've missed you so much."
I gave her a raised eyebrow. I was trying to focus on her face... I know that I know her from somewhere. I continued to stare at her until she let out a an awkward laugh, "Aren't you going to say anything?"
"I'm sorry," I spoke to her in a quiet voice, "I just...you look familiar."
"Familiar?" She asked with her voice started to crack.
I frowned, "Who are you?"
There was an empty feeling inside of both my brain and heart. It made this moment unbearable. Not a single memory about her I could recall. Only a blur of visions in my mind that I couldn't put together.
I didn't say anything more because I didn't want to make her cry even harder. Her hand was covering her mouth as if she had to stop herself from speaking to me. A nurse pulled her out of the room. I don't know what happened outside those doors, but the nurse came back in giving a short apology for that.
I shook my head, "Who was that? Why is she crying? Did I say something wrong?"
"No, you didn't," The nurse answered me giving me a sympathetic look, "Your name is Miles Cade. That young woman that was in here is your best friend and she... cares a lot about you. It's just hard for her to see you this way."
"Will she back tomorrow?" I asked, "I want to get know her."
"That is up to her, but she did drop something off."
The nurse handed me a stack of envelopes. Each one had cursive handwriting that had my name on it. I noticed there were a lot of them and I stared at her with a head tilt, "What are these?"
"Letters," She answered, "She wrote you while you were on that trip and when you in your coma."
My heart started beating fast. I knew that she looked familiar, but now I am starting to think there is more to her than I thought. Did she really write all these letters for me? Wow... that's something special.
"Are you alright?" The nurse questioned.
"I just... I wish I could remember. I feel as though apart of myself is missing."
