VI
"Boys. I expected you to behave while you're out, okay?" Aunt Cass kissed both nephews on the cheek, "Be sure to have fun too!" Tadashi smiled happily, "We will. And you have fun learning and trying new recipes." Cass laughed, waving her hand, "Oh you know I will! I LOVE food!" They all hugged before getting into (Y/n)'s car. Claire and Cass exchanged cheerful waves as (Y/n) drove off.

The car ride was very quiet, well there was no talking since the radio was playing. Hiro played something on his phone, Claire grinned happily at the beautiful landscape, and Tadashi stared out the window in thought. (Y/n) glanced up to look at Tadashi thoughtful expression in the review mirror. She shook her head slightly in disbelief, continuing on with driving.
They traveled until it came to the point to take a small break. (Y/n) pulled over at a picnic area that over looked a small town nearby. A big tree made shade for the picnic table underneath which was lovely. "How much time did you spend with Lorenzo, if you don't mind me asking?" Tadashi asked while placing a small basket on the table.
Claire sat on a boulder that had a flat surface, "I spent EVERY second that I could with him. Even everytime after class and we'd go to the farm he worked at." She sighed in content as (Y/n) sat on the table with Hiro, handing the boy a small triangle cut sandwich. "We would sit under the trees with bread, tomatoes, and some olive oil." Tadashi smiled softly, "That sounds romantic."
Hiro swallowed his chewed bite from the sandwich and (Y/n) scoffed, "What's so romantic about eating in the dirt?" Tadashi raised his brow at the young woman, "Really?" Hiro laughed, holding up a hand to (Y/n) as she grinned and have him a high five. Claire giggled at them and continued, "The dirt.....well you see he loved the earth. He loved talking to me about the rain and...." Claire looked up at the tree, "....the springs of fresh water and we walked for miles and miles. We'd lay on the dry grass. I could still remember the smell of his sweet sweat." She chuckled.
Hiro choked on his sandwich and (Y/n) turned to look at her grandmother, smiling in embarrassment, "Okay, okay, Gran. We get the picture." Tadashi laughed lightly and leaned back, "So must feel like you're going to find your long lost soul mate." Claire nodded. "Her soul mate is my grandfather. Lets not validate MY entire existence." (Y/n) said a bit angry. Tadashi frowned in worry, "That's not what I meant!" Tadashi said apologetically but (Y/n) took off to stand by herself a few yards away.
Tadashi sighed a bit and watched Hiro run up to (Y/n). "(Y/n) is just like my husband. He always insisted love is nothing but hormones." She rolled her eyes, then smiled, "But you see, my husband had a warm passionate heart." Tadashi listened to Claire intently but also watched as (Y/n) smiled, pulling Hiro into a headlock at whatever the little Hamada said. "So (Y/n) has the same warm passionate heart." Tadashi smiled warmly at the two play fighting happily.
Claire noticed, "Tell me about your family." Tadashi chuckled, shrugging and looks at the elderly woman, "Nothing much to tell. My little brother and I came her with our aunt. She owns a cafe back in San Fransokyo." Claire looked happily surprised, "Oh wow!" Tadashi nods, "That's another reason why we're out here plus to spend time with her, but we spend a lot more time with her back home." Claire noticed Tadashi's eyes get a little glossy, then at her next question, she kinda wished she hadn't asked.
"What about your parents?"
Tadashi tensed a bit, taking a deel breath and forced a smile, "Well......Hiro never got to meet them properly." He bite his lip, feeling his heart ache and held back tears. "They're not here anymore. I took care of my little brother ever since he was born." He catches Hiro laughing at you as you fall backwards into a bush. "I'm so sorry." Claire said in sorrow.
Tadashi shrug, straining a smile, "It's alright. That was a long time ago anyway."

(Y/n) slowly drove up to a house and parked. Claire, Tadashi, and (Y/n) stepped out since Hiro said he'd stay in the car. Once at the front door, Tadashi could clearly see Claire was nervous as she knocked. (Y/n) bites her nails then groans a bit, "What if the wife answers and goes into a fit of jealous rage?"
Tadashi shakes his head the young woman but laughs lightly at what Claire said next. "Oh, well....i would be quite flattered." Claire sighed, shifting to look around, "Though, I am afraid he won't remember me."
(Y/n) never wanted her grandmother to hurt especially over something like this. "Lets just go then, Gran. Before this all ends in tears." Tadashi furrowed his brows and shakes his head at (Y/n) as she turns away from his stare. The door opens as a man walks out in a straw hat, "Yes?"
Claire gulps, "Hello, are you Lorenzo Bartolini?" The man nods as (Y/n) smiles, "Ah, well nice to meet you sir. I am (Y/n) and this is my grandmother Claire and Tadashi." Tadashi waves, but before he could speak, (Y/n) spoke up again. "Im sorry, but just to sure. Sir, do you remember what you were doing in the summer of 1957?"
The guy laughs, "The summer of 1957. I'd never forget that I met the most beautiful girl with long (hair color) hair. We met that year." Tadashi grins in excitement while (Y/n) gasps a bit with her grandmother as they smile.
Suddenly it went down hill. "I curse that woman!"
Tadashi gently pulls Claire toward the car as they try not to laugh, "Oh no."
(Y/n) slowly backs away as the man keeps rambling. "I curse her eyes, I curse her teeth, I curse her mustache!"
Hiro jumps up when everyone gets in the car, hearing the guy yelling as Tadashi and Claire laugh.
"Why do you ask?! Why do you bring up such a horrible memory!"
(Y/n) rubs her cheek in frustration as she drives off. Hiro is super clueless, "What just happened?" All he got for an answer was Claire and Tadashi's snickering.
