It was a new activity that the professors wanted to test out, the headmaster in Ivermory were delighted with this fresh idea. To host pen-pals with random students across the pond. Although it didn't tickle anybody's mind other than Ms.Lily Evan's to be communicating with someone she'll most likely never meet, but it was the idea of having a friend around the world that genuinely sparked her interest.

Hello!

My name is Lily Evans, I'm a 3rd year Gryffindor at Hogwarts. I was very excited to find out about this program and it'll be so fascinating to think I have a friend outside of Europe!

At the moment I know I am meant to be doing my Divination homework but it's such an honest bore. But I already completed my Care of Magical creatures assignment so I suppose it's alright. It's my favorite class, what about you? Worse and favorite class out of the bunch. I'll send my turntable!

I don't rightly know if Quidditch is big around your parts, but here I adore the game. (Even though I don't find myself rooting for the boys in my house and grade) I'm sure I could write an entire book on why I hate these two boys...However, I won't bore you with an impervious rant about people you don't know. Tell me about yourself!

And thus she handed her finished letter to her head of house, only for it to be shipped across the pond over towards Aurora Ivory Halliwell. A Third-year serpent that was not entirely sure why her name had been entered into a penpal retreat but never the less read the letter and responded.

Hello Lily,

My name is Aurora Halliwell, like you I'm a third year in the house of serpents. Don't be all too happy; I was ; they'dborn over there across the pond with you. It's bit of mess to keep track of all the places I've lived.

Not going to lie, I flinched at the mention of Dininvation. It's dreadfully boring and entirely unethical to be teaching us when most if not all do not have the unique ability of being a bloody seer. I do enjoy care of magical creatures, but Alchemy is in term my favorite. Do you have it overseas? It's not that popular over here ether, it's barely a few students in ether class but doesn't make up for all that much.

I absolutely love Quidditch, I play chaser on my houses' team. And I can't say I'm not in the same boat as you with the whole boys in the house. I can name about half a dozen boys that think they're 'all that' if that's what you're referring to. I don't mind reading a whole book to be honest...And perhaps this is an odd question, but what do you look like. I tried to find a decent photo, and perhaps I can take one quick of Ilvermory.

Before you look I swear, I didn't dye my hair on purpose. My parents are Alchemists and it was a potion gone wrong that messed up with my hair. It's no matter, although I wish my eyes were saved. I'm not entirely blind, healers fixed them up just fine. But I've resorted to glasses to keep up with all the strain of reading I usually try to do.

So for the past two years have these girls owling one another back and forth, building a very close but very distance in range relationship with one another. Sending gifts to one another and trying to amount to all the empty promises that never doubt worked out ether summer or any holiday.

Living in America proved difficult due to the fact that it was six hours behind one another, different holidays and different schedules. But that didn't stop ether of the girls from proving to be very good friends.

Aurora did enough hearing about Lily's ranting of these boys in her grade, and they seemed like a bloody kick to be honest. But it was to added comfort that Aurora was being transferred to Hogwarts, which meant meeting all of these potential friends...It felt, strange, but before anything, Aurora needed to tell her pen-pal as well as her surrounding friends. But this was probably the easiest.

Dear Lilypads,

I hope your Potions test went alright, tell Sev that I hope his Alchemy reported turned out well with the corrections. Hopefully, they came in time. Anywho, I had just talked to my Uncle and it turns out that he'll be moving to the Ministry of Magic in Britain and has decided that transferring was the best option. So...Turns out we'll be meeting!

I don't rightly know all the details just yet, but please don't make such a big fuss. Merlin can you imagine if we're in the same house, oh we'll be a mess. I'll try and send more details, I'm writing this prior to tell everyone...It won't make sense in staying with Jacob when I'm across the pond, is it? I mean, I was going to apply to the beyond schooling off in Germany anyhow so I suppose it'll be a few years earlier. Look at me ramble, guess it's inevitable isn't it?

Please don't scream out into the great hall Tigerlily. I swear I'll make it a living hell when I get there.

"Oh please my dear sweet Lilykins, may I have this last Hogsmeade trip?" The redhead merely scoffed at the idea as she properly sat down, ignoring the boy without even giving him a breath of her time. It made him frown, but as many times as it had happened, it was just the same bloody attempt over and over again from the same bloody boy. He wasn't going to learn, but at least Remus had the ability to look apologetic to his friend's behavior. Rather than Sirius and his glare before continuing up the conversation about Quidditch.

The first of the owls came about, but Lily wasn't prepared for the one that had landed beside her plate. Her confusion was met by Mary who giggled. "That Aurora?" The redhead could tell from the handwriting that was indeed her friend, and through the beginning bits she smiled and took a mental note. She hadn't gotten her previous letter, it was only sent off last night before dinner. And doing the math so quickly it was apparent that it was the case.

However, Lily's jaw dropped, James who was trying to see what had come for her to get her that excited. Never has he seen her that bloody thrilled about something in a letter. "What do you think twisting Evan's panties?" Peter was chuckling into both of his hands, an act he'd do to hide his misshapen teeth.

"Certainly not Prongs." He joked, and it became as a glare from his antlered friend. But Remus could be caught chuckling, shaking his head as it was a sight. Whatever the girl was reading, she was excited. And before long did she share the letter with her roommates. So it was a sense of good news.

Better than getting something awful to make her cry, especially with everything going on outside of Hogwarts? It was good to see a happy response when reading a letter.

"We have to make sure she brings everything she needs! We can bring her to Diagon Alley during the summer!" Mary cheered, Aurora  naturally joined into the conversation more than a few times during the year. It was hard not to when Lily would squeal at seeing her friend or watching the games that Aurora had enchanted on a pair of binoculars. Their ongoing joke is that they found the perfect girl for James, but at the idea of it Aurora gagged and threatened to poison the next letter.

Aurora would be the perfect addition, they'd be in the same age and even if they weren't going to be in the same house. She'd have them as well as Severus to get her acquainted. So perhaps if it was any house, she'd have at them in a few. "She can't get into Hufflepuff, so it leaves the rest up for chance." Alice examples, and they all laughed in triumph. It'd add another girl to their group no doubt, and perhaps combine whichever house instead as well.
