I hold my school books close to my chest as I push through the crowds of kids. I feel a slight sting every time one of them pushes against my arms, but there's nothing more that I can do than give a slight flinch and keep walking, or smile and pretend it caused no pain when an apology comes. The pain is nothing anyway, nothing compared to what I feel inside.

"JJ!" I hear someone yell behind me, but I just don't feel like facing any one today, so I ignore them, placing my headphones on so that it's an excuse for 'not hearing them'. "Jacinta-Jade!" I kept walking turning 'just a dream' up louder in a hope that I won't hear the desperate cries for my attention. "JACINTA-JADE KARA NIGHT!" I hear before she grabs my arm, I hold in the hiss of pain that tries to escape my lips. "JJ, I was calling you, you really need to turn down your music." I look up to Michelle's smiling face, and pull my head phones off.

"Sorry about that." I say putting on a bright, but fake smile. She gives me a little bit of an odd look, as if she can tell something's up. "Just lost in my own little world," I say before the bell rings, I shove my phone in my bag before running to my locker to get my books. This seems like it's going to be a long day.
