~Kimiko's POV~

It's been years since I was last at the place that became my new home after I left my old one behind.

My life has gotten better since then, though. I married my childhood crush, Shino Aburame.

We have a 3 year old son named Tadashi, and an almost 2 year old daughter named Akira.

I still have Eriko, my nindog companion, but we now have a little nincat named Meeko.

But back to the task at hand....

*Flashback*

"Kimiko, I want you to go on a solo mission" said Naruto, also known at that point as Lord Hokage.

"Of course, sir. What does it intail and how long will I be gone?" I asked, nodding respectfully.

"Let's be informal here, Kimi. We've been friends for years. I feel wrong making you all be so formal" he responded.

"I can understand that" I replied

"You'll be going to the rubble that is the remains of the old Akatsuki base. I know you have the most knowledge of that place, so it is only right that you should go" Naruto stated, giving me a knowing look.

"Ok...but why am I being sent there, exactly?" I asked, confused.

"There have been rumours that someone has been seen lurking around there and looking for something. I want you to figure out what that is and report back to me" he clarified.

"Yes sir" I replied, and he dismissed me.

*Present*

"I don't see the big issue, Eriko. Nothing seems out of place here" I say, walking through the non-destroyed section of the building.

I came across my old room, stopping to look in at it and remember my life there.

Eriko found his old chew toy that he had played with back then. 

I knew he was going to be preoccupied, so I continued my search. While investigating Itachi and Kisame's old room, I heard footsteps down the hall.

I looked into the hall just in time to see....a blue haired girl? The girl must have sensed me, since she turned around and the minute I saw her eyes I knew who it was.

"Rosalie?" I asked, noticing the girl's eyes widen.

"H-how do you know my name?" she asks.

"I knew you when you were a baby, and I babysat for your parents occasionally" I reply, also revealing my Akatsuki ring that I wore on a chain as a reminder.

"K-kimiko?" She questioned, eyes tearing up.

When I nodded, she ran down the hall and hugged me tightly.

"I thought everyone was gone. Mama, Papa, 'Tsu....and even you" she said

"I know, Rose. Once everything that happened years ago was over, I started my new life in my home village" I say, showing her a picture of Shino and the kids.

"The girl looks just like you, Kimi" Rose comments, causing me to smile.

"She reminds me a great deal of you" I chuckle, then remember what I was here for.

"Why are you here?" I ask

"I'm looking for something to remind me of everyone" she states

We agree to help each other, and soon enough we come across a box hidden in Rose's old room.

Inside, there were letter scrolls wrapped in ribbon or string. I recognized the handwriting on the scrolls.

"These are from the others" I say, stunned.

*Time Skip*

Rosalie agreed to come back to the Leaf with me. We handed the letters over to Naruto, and with his approval Rosalie was put under my care.

It was a few days later that Naruto summoned myself, Rosalie, Kakashi, and Sasuke to his office to look over the letters.
