You'll Find a Light

We all have a time in our life when we didn't know how to live,

That time was dark, so real it ran deeper than skin.

We didn't know how to live without the pain,

We thought there'd be no life without the pouring rain.

Nothing would seem the same.

Sometimes we wondered how to live without feeling down,

It kept us occupied to drown out all the loud sound.

It's why we held on to those past experiences for so long,

We didn't know what might have been beyond the darkness.

Nothing but empty space,

Always feeling misplaced.

Lost out on a couple years,

Sitting around crying uncalled for tears,

We wish we would've found a way to numb the pain,

Instead of sitting there, drenched in the heavy rain.

We may have pushed everyone away,

Cause in blindness, it was the fast way numb the pain of our loved ones hurting for us,

We didn't realize what we were doing to ourselves, and through that who we were becoming.

A path didn't appear so bright,

For a while, maybe you didn't believe in such a light,

All we saw was darkness and no light, running into a pitch black night,

But now we found the end of the tunnel, it's alright.

So please don't make those mistakes,

Don't push them all away thinking it'll numb the pain.

We all know what it's like,

To feel you can never see the light,

But just remember it's only temporary,

Fight like a champ, don't stop at a sanctuary.

Keep them close, don't let them go,

Hence with those who understand, it's easier, life lessons say so.

So just remember don't let go,

Don't give up, don't lose control.

Even though emotional pain pierces deeper than skin,

Just keep being grateful for what you have and believe you can let some light in.

Believe that there is something beautiful rather than the suffering pain,

Don't soak and shed your precious tears in the pouring rain.
