I still dream sometimes that you'll ring my doorbell anytime.

I think about you day and night, it feels wrong but so right.

I live my life here in a small town, half the time feeling down.

I feel like I will lose sight of you. But I guess I never had it, it's true.

So I close my eyes, convince myself I'll be fine.

But my mind changes as it says, 

"One day, I'll see you some way. Any day. Maybe I'll meet ends with fate."

I close my eyes and envision this in my head, either awake or in bed;

On an average day you'll knock on the door one day.

I'll turn around in surprise as I finally feel like it's a dream come true. It's you.

Peek through the peephole, this seems familiar, it's been in my dreams before.

I turn the knob with a shaky hand,

 And there you are, you firmly stand.

You'd say hi. You smile so wide, and just think I'd cry. I smile as I say under my breath, "it's finally time".

I hold you close and you'd never let me go. Tell me in a whisper in my ear, "I'm here now." I adore the way you sound.

In that moment I'd realize, I'll love you forever and a day, until I die.

Take me by the hand and off to the shore and the sand. 

We watch the sunset, feeling no regret.

So I say, "I knew this day would come."

"You should have known you're my number one."

"Let's live our best lives."

"We will, cause this goes by in what feels like five."

"Don't forget why I fell in love with you."

"How could I ever? I feel your love is my saving truth."

So you'd pull me in close, and never let me go.

So you say "I want you to know, that no matter where I go, that I'll love you till my last breath. Never with any regret."

Smiling wide, with feelings of love I begin to cry, I feel it deep inside as I tell you this, that I mean it deep in my heart "I'll love you forever and a day, until I die."
