Absence

She knows what the vibe is here; it's hua absence.
It's an empty feeling, one that is hard to shake; makes no sense.

You walk out the door,
She's left here lifeless, lying on the floor.

She can hear his car engine,
Driving away angry, she can imagine.

She senses much time has passed.
Tick tock, tick tock.

She feel the tears roll down her cheeks,
Leaving dried up streams.

She can't hear your voice.
Tick tock, tick tock.

But she can't control his decision to walk away,
It's not her choice.

The awful silence filled up their house.
She swiped at her tears from the sleeve of her blouse.

It's too quiet.
It's deathly silent.

But in her mind, her thoughts were running violent.
Tick tock tick tock tick tock.

Time doesn't speed when she wants it to.
She's hoping you'll come back soon. What's your future? She's confused.

She wishes he didn't fight.
She wants to find him, hold him and apologize.

Tick tock tick tock tick tock.
The clock ticks loudly, tick tock!

Just a while ago it was rowdy - no... she dislikes this silence.
She'd rather fight instead of walking away; together, they are balanced.

Tick tock, come home!
She doesn't want him to be alone.

Tick tock,
"Please pick up the phone!"

She felt guilt and shame deep in her bones.
Tick, tick, tick...

She heard his voice, his frustrated breathing.
Who knew in such a moment, her chest was heaving?

"Please come home, I don't want to argue with you".
"I know...", he says.

"Please", she thinks "come home".
"I love you, more than anything and anyone anyway".

A slight chuckle is heard,
Then at the moment she embraces in hearing his breathing.

"I'll be home soon". The phone call ends, but her hopes fly high like a bird.
Tick tock the time it doesn't pass fast enough,

Tick tock, she stares intensely at the clock,
"Hurry up!"

She heard the sound of the door,
Rapidly jumped off the floor.

"I'm sorry! I love you,
I never intended to hurt you", he explained.

She smiled gratefully as she hugged him.
The clocks have stopped. They've had enough.

Now peacefully, it's all normal.
His absence felt much like a torture, in restraints in her breathing.

They both realized what they mean
To each other, Finally they see.
