Ray's POV

Finally, Emma and Norman found out about the secret of the house. It's been days since Conny died and my heart is clenching from the guilt, I knew something about the demons yet I didn't do anything. My hand grip the cover of the book so hard that it gets crumpled.

"The book didn't do something bad." She said, the strawberry haired girl, sitting beside me.

"Yeah, you're right." I whispered and let go the poor book down the floor.

"About the demons?" She asked, she already knew about them right from the beginning.

I didn't answered her, I just kept my eyes locked with hers. Her scarf is still around her neck, as if hiding something from my eyes. Her eyes were emotionless but I can see right through them, she's just doing what I do everyday, escaping the reality and using a mask to hide her true feelings.

"You're creeping me out." She suddenly said, snapping me from my daze.

"Well, I'm getting bored and you're keeping me company here, entertain me at least." I said with a joking tone, making her chuckle and making my heart jump.

"Well, are you entertained by just looking at me?" She ask, flipping her hair.

"Definitely." I whispered and tuck some of her hair behind her hair.

We've been talking a lot these past few days and I don't know if staying silent beside her is much more better than letting her create a home inside my heart. I grab the book from the floor and stood up.

"I'm sleepy." I said and put the book back to its proper shelf.

"Well, you're in luck, me too. Let's find a warm place to sleep at." She whispered, making me blush.

"I thought, you'd like to sleep alone in the shared bedroom." I said, sitting on the couch.

"Well, our younger siblings likes to play and hide seek, you'll just woke up with one of them screaming because one of them hide under your bed." She explained, making me giggle.

"I'll just sleep on the floor." I whispered.

I pull a pillow from the couch before laying on the carpeted floor, the sunlightfrom the window is what exactly I want. It's been cold and I've been craving for some warmth.

"Sleep tight, Ray."

My eyes were closed but I could hear her, sobbing herself to sleep.

"Why are sleeping here?" I heard Norman as I push them away before standing up, damn, my back hurts.

"Good sunlight." I replied, yawning.

"Hey, we must talk to you." Norman said, pulling me to sit on the couch.

"What is it?" I ask, rubbing my eyes.

"Emma and Gilda are helping mom tonight with the babies and Carol might help them about the tracking device, make sure to be on our spot tomorrow." Norman said and nodded her head to Emma.

"And also, mom wants to talk to you." Emma said quietly.

I left them inside the library as I went inside mom's office, a smile was plastered on her lips while I close the door behind my body. It's really cold in here, in her office. My eyes wandered around, I found the rope that mom confiscated from her. I chuckled before sitting in front her table.

"How's she? Are you guarding her properly?" Mom asked as she kept writing on her files.

"Of course, we've been talking for years and I've been around her since she's born." I replied, rolling my eyes.

"Really? Then why don't you check her now, call her down,  6 minutes before dinner." Mom said and I nodded my head, that's pretty useless, she doesn't have a good reason to call me in her office.

I don't want to say this but every time I go near her, the chills are still there, wrapping me and making me nervous every time our eyes meets. I know that Isabella is my real mom but she's been forgotten by my heart, she's selfish and she's willing to do everything just to survive.

My feet reached their shared bedroom and while I was outside, I hear her sobbing again. I gently open the door and found her back facing me.

"Hey, 6 minutes before dinner, let's go down now." I said and slowly went towards her.

She didn't speak but I found something in her hand, a knife. My instinct quickly told me to get the knife from her hand and I did, after getting the knife, I sat beside her on the bed. Her wrist bleeding, the same way her heart did.

"Let's clean you up." I whispered and we both stood up, my hands around her waist and guiding he towards the bathroom.

She's bleeding a lot and I keep my head calm while cleaning her wrist. She's sobbing quietly while avoiding my eyes. I could feel her heavy sadness, I don't know the reason why she's crying and I don't want to interfere with her personal feelings but still, I want to know the reasons behind her tears, who made her cry or what made her cry.

"What happened?" I ask.

No response.

"Do you want to eat?" I ask again and she shook her head.

She's not really speaking and when I drop her to their shared bedroom, I told her to sleep while wrapping her wrist with a bandage. I'm humming a song while doing it then she suddenly spoke.

"I don't want them to win, if they want to eat then they can just die from starvation." She whispered.

"Hmm, don't kill yourself, killing yourself will only prove that they won." I whisper, sitting on her bed.

"You have a pretty voice." She muttered, smiling at me before closing her eyes.

My heart jumped again and I couldn't help but to hide my face in my hands. Damn, I'm feeling something in my chest and I don't want these, I can't. Not yet.
