Castles Crumbling
You exiled me from your life
and being without you will never feel right.
I occasionally think of you,
less than I used to,
which is a blessing I deserve.
I have been released from my duty
and my self-sworn oath to protect you
but I'm still chained to your mind.
I was always on the frontlines,
fighting your mental battles,
before they had you crumbling.
You look like such a strong man from the outside,
inside you're just a boy.
I've been banished,
but I check up on you from my new fortress:
analyzing the lyrics of the songs you play,
searching for any sign of happiness in your photos.
I don't know who protects you anymore.
I don't think anyone does-
not even you.
I wish my love could've saved you,
but it was a losing war.
You didn't even want to save yourself.
