Gold In A Thornbush

Beautiful songs have been re-sung
Days have dawned,
Moons have risen and gone,
And so has the sun;
But this moment once gone
Will never return.

So I will take this chance,
Steal this kiss and have this dance
Slow motion under the moonlight,
You and I hand in hand.

Streaks of the milky way radiating with brilliance
Is but a Molotov cocktail compared
To the canon ball radiance in her eyes
When she smiles.

Sunday school taught me to flee temptations
But in your presence I'm lost,
In awe, my feet are glued to the spot.

Its a complication
One I ain't ready to flee from;
But these pieces keep breaking up into smaller bits.
And why take a risk
When I can't get enough?

Loving you is like having gold in a thorn bush.
I bleed,
Yes, each day I do.
I bleed but I regard not my wounds.

I proceed with caution
I'm no dare-devil
For I know the moment I reach out my arm
To pluck that gold,
I'll get pricked by ten thousand icy cold thistles
Piercing deep into my bones.
I guess all I'm eating now is bitter-sweet chocolate cones.
