Writing A Letter

Dear Remus Kingsley,

Um, hi? My name is Maya Casey-Kingsley, and I think you're my Pops' twin brother. His name is Roman Casey-Kingsley. This is really weird to write to someone on a computer and then sending it to god knows where. I hope you didn't move or this would be awkward.

... I should probably tell you about me. I'm 11, my birthday's December 24th, Dad and Pops call me a Christmas miracle, for some odd reason? I like video games and movies, and volleyball. I looooove volleyball. My favorite color is green and I want to dye my hair green on my 12th birthday.

... This is really awkward. I hope you get this letter? Um, bye.

Sincerely, Maya Casey-Kingsley

Maya's POV:

This sucks. I groaned as I finished typing on my laptop, pressing print and shoving it out of my lap. I speed walked into Dad and Pops' room to their printer, watching the soon to be letter print.

When it was finished I quickly took it out and ran to my room. I sighed in relief, walking over to my desk and putting it down. I should have a birthday envelope around here... I pushed off a few things from my desk.

Bingo! I grabbed the envelope, taking the card out of it. I took the letter and folded it up and slid it into the envelope. I flipped it and licked it shut, good thing Uncle Patt didn't seal it when he gave me the card.

I grabbed a pen and wrote on the envelope his name and address, grabbing the stamp off of the old letter and sticking it on mine. I looked at the envelope with pride. I, an eleven-year-old, just wrote a letter and is about to send it.

This calls for a celebration! I giggled, slipping on my slippers and putting the letter in my sweater pocket before going downstairs. I turned towards the kitchen and waved at Uncle Patt, him smiling and waving back.

"Hey, kiddo! Hungry?" He asked. I nodded, "Do we have any cookies?" Uncle Patt nodded, pulling one out of the snack cupboard. I hummed, smiling, "Thanks, Uncle!"

I whizzed around and skipped up to the front door, eating my cookie. I opened it, only to get stopped by Uncle Watchful Eyes on the couch reading a book. "What are you doing and why are you going outside?"

I sighed, "I wanna go see the cat." Uncle Lo hummed, "Stay on the lawn and do not go farther than that." He instructed.

I nodded, opening the door and speeding to the mailbox at the side of the street. When I got there I took out the letter, looking down at it before kissing the stamp and letting it slide through the mailbox's little door.

There it goes. I hope he gets it.
