A Discovery

Maya's POV:

"MAYA CASEY-KINGSLEY GET DOWN HERE!"

I groaned at the familiar shout of my name, can an eleven year old daydream in peace? I slid on my slippers and walked down the stairs to the living room. Uncle Lo stood there, crossing his arms in a disappointed manner.

I should explain, shouldn't I? Well, Uncle Lo and Uncle Patt are babysitting me while Dad and Pops went somewhere, probably went to look at flowers again for one of their outings.

While they were out, and when my uncles weren't looking, I sneaked in the stray black cat that usually roams outside all the time. She was lonely so I let her in! She seemed to appreciate it, but Uncle Lo and Uncle Patt? Not so much.

"Maya what did we tell you about letting cats in the house?" Uncle Lo asked. I groaned again.

"Not to because Uncle Patt has a cat allergy and has no regard for it." I recited. Uncle Patt sat on the couch, a cloth to his nose as he smiled apologetically at me.

Uncle Lo nodded, then pointed upstairs, "Now go remove the animal from the premises." I rolled my eyes and went up to my room.

I kneeled under my bed, "Hey, kitty. Come on, you gotta leave now." I cooed to it. Somehow, the street cat understood me, and decided that running into my parent's room was a perfect idea.

I groaned, great, I'll either be scarred or in big trouble by the time I exit the room. I slowly made my way to my parent's bedroom, opening the door wider than the cat did.

I spot the cat immediately, she sat under the big dresser in the corner. I huffed, "Come, kitty kitty..." I played on my stomach, laying next to the dresser. After a few minutes I finally got the cat out from under the dresser.

I cheered, ruffling the kitty's hair, before going to get up. But before I did, I found a small piece of paper under the bed. Now, I'm not going to snoop around in my parents stuff!

Well, maybe a little bit.

I stuffed the piece of paper in my pocket and stood up, shuffling out of their room and downstairs to let the cat go roam free. "Bye, buddy..." I waved to her. Uncle Patt patted my shoulder, "Hey, at least you'll see 'em outside every day."

I nodded and turned around, going to go up the stairs before Uncle Patt stopped me, "Hey, I heard from a little kitty that you seemed a bit lonley." He said, I shook my head, smiling a bit.

"Not all people that are alone are lonely, Uncle." He nodded, "I know sunshine, but are you sure you don't wanna stay down here and hang out with us?" He asked.

I nodded, thinking about the paper in my pocket, "Yeah, I'm sure Uncle Patt." Uncle Patt nodded at me, "Okay then, you can always come down here whenever you like." I chuckled, waving bye to Uncle Patt and Uncle Lo before climbing back up the stairs.

I quickly entered my room, shutting the door and climbing up on my bed, taking the paper out of my pocket. It was a letter, well, the envelope of the letter. I huffed, going to toss it before I saw the name on the letter.

Remus Kingsley.

I gasped, who was Remus Kingsley? He had my Uncle and Pops' last name, so he must be related to him and Uncle Lo. Was he their brother? Or father? No, not father, I already knew my grandfather, a very nice man, he was.

I shook my head, maybe I should just look him up. I turned, grabbing my phone before typing up his name in the google search bar. Very familiar pictures showed up of a man that looked almost identical to my Pops. I gasped, Pops had a twin?!

To say I was curious was an understatement. Apparently, I had another uncle on my Pops' side. But I only knew his address from a letter. I thought for a bit before an idea came to mind. Sending one letter wouldn't hurt, right?
