Chapter 1
"Hey, Yuri could you be a dear and pass out these papers?" The teacher placed a stack of papers on her desk when Yuri walked over.
"Yes ma'am." Yuri replied, taking the stack in her arms and started to pass then out.
After passing all of them out, Yuri sat back down and continued to take advantage of her math teacher's work time she gave the class.
"Natsuki, could I speak with you?" Even though the teacher asked for Natsuki, it still caught Yuri's attention. Why? She didn't know.
"Is that the test? Did Natsuki do bad on it..?"
Yuri had many questions, but her train of thought was stopped when the teacher called Yuri up.
"I'm sure you at least know each other's names. Yuri, I want you to go over what Natsuki got wrong on the test and help her with this worksheet." The teacher handed Yuri Natsuki's test and the mentioned worksheet.
With how stuck-up Natsuki looked from a side glance, Yuri didn't have much faith in the little study session they were about to start.
With that the two carried the papers required for the session out into the hallway to get started.
"So.. First you rewrite it as addition.." Yuri instructed in a soft tone. But with grumbling from her student, she surprisingly got Natsuki to cooperate.
"Now add the like terms." Yuri pointed to the like terms in the equation, which Natsuki proceeded to add and rewrite the equation once again.
"Then you add the left overs and... Well then you have your answer..." Yuri explained.
"Okay okay, now what? I can do it, so I don't think I need a tutor anymore." Natsuki finally spoke.
"Then... Then solve this." Yuri took Natsuki's pencil from her hand and wrote out a more complicated equation.
Snatching the pencil back, Natsuki quickly got to working on the new equation.
It was around five minutes of Natsuki constantly erasing and rewriting when Yuri decided to interfere.
"Do you need help?" Yuri asked the frustrated Natsuki.
"I don't get it! When will I ever even use this in the future!?" Natsuki shouted.
"To start, you rewrite it as addition." Yuri took the pencil and paper to write out the problem.
"Then you use the distributive property." Yuri drew lines to show the distributive property in action and continued teaching.
"Then combine like terms and--." Yuri was cut off by Natsuki.
"But when will I need to know this?!" Natsuki looked at Yuri's work.
"You never know till it happens." Yuri replied.
"Hey girls," their teacher walked out into the hall. "We're packing up. I'll write you a pass to come down for recess." With that the teacher went back inside.
"Ugh, miss recess for this crap..." Natsuki groaned.
"Well when you start to get it I won't have to tutor you again." Yuri added, glancing to see a smile appear on Natsuki's face.
This made Yuri think.
"What if I don't get it..?"
Yuri had a small smile before walking back inside with Natsuki. She had a plan, and was going to put it into action.
Before leaving math, the girls got passes for recess. Natsuki surely minded it, but Yuri didn't.
Recess came sooner then Yuri planned, and she was glad for this. She got to spend more time with Natsuki, which gave her a happy feeling.
"I get it okay? Now let's go to recess!" Natsuki whined.
"Not yet, now ho ahead and do problems six, seven, and eight." Yuri pointed to each problem as she said the number. Natsuki didn't want to do it, but she didn't have much of a choice.
"Okay let me check..." Yuri looked over Natsuki's paper once both of them were done.
"Perfect! They're all right Natsuki." Yuri smiled, but on the other hand Natsuki jumped out of her seat with joy.
"Hah! So-long Yuri, nice having a tutor for a day!" Natsuki waved good-bye with her bag in hand and stepped out the classroom door.
Yuri was slightly offended, but brushed it aside. It wasn't long before the roles would change.
The rest of recess Yuri spent working on her poem for the literature club. She knew what it would be about, just didn't know how to word it. Of course Yuri's math teacher didn't mind her staying, Yuri was one of her favorites after all.
After Natsuki left, it felt like recess lasted forever. Once the bell rang, Yuri couldn't believe how long it felt compared to what it really was. Guess Natsuki had the power to speed up time.
As the day went on, Yuri spent her classes ignoring what the teacher was saying and began to plot out her plan. It was perfect, and nothing could possibly ruin it.
When the end of the day came, the literature club came as well. (Not sexually ya perverts)
"Hey Yuri, thanks for the math lessons." Yuri was greeted by Natsuki, who looked to be studying.
"I started to rework the problems I got wrong on the test, and I figured out what I did wrong on all of them." Natsuki grinned, showing Yuri her work paper. "See?"
"Yup, I see Natsuki." Yuri walked past Natsuki to put her things at a desk. Yuri would never guess Natsuki would pick this up so fast, and her original idea would never work. This was one of those things that you never think will happen but it ends up happening despite the odds.
"Hey you think we could do another session during recess tomorrow too Yuri?" Natsuki asked. Nobody else was here yet, which slightly annoyed Yuri. If the others were here, Natsuki wouldn't be acting this way.
"Why would she be different around me?"
"Sure, I don't mind. But I don't see what more you've got to learn." Yuri replied.
"Well, we could make flash cards or something like that." Natsuki suggested.
And with that Monika and Sayori entered the room.
