Complaints (Mythical AU) Part 2

Keith takes a sigh of relief when he makes it to Shiro's house. After what happened with the mermaid yesterday he decided he would visit Shiro earlier than usual. He could hear the T.V. playing from the inside when he makes it to the door, guessing that it was Adam who was watching it. He rang the doorbell and stood there as he heard voices from inside and someone walking up to the door. It opened to reveal Shiro, who seemed surprised.

"Oh, didn't know you were coming today, you should've told me" Shiro said, running his hand through (what Keith just now noticed) messy hair, before yelling into the house saying it was just him. Shiro stepped aside and he was let in, walking into the living room. The first thing that caught his eye was Adam and Curtis on the couch, extremely close, hair messy, and looking awkwardly at him. He had the feeling it was a bad time to be here, but he really wanted to vent to Shiro, so he stayed.

"I'll wait in the kitchen" He said, walking off into the next room as he let them sort things out. Their voices could be heard in the kitchen, Curtis's the only one with a nervous tone. Keith waited longer, and Shiro eventually showed up in the room, muttering a sorry.

"Wow, I didn't know you guys are already fucking, how long has it been since you and Adam started dating Curtis? Two months?" Keith said sarcastically, and Shiro just glared daggers into his skull. "Don't act like you didn't have sex with that Griffin kid after you dated for two weeks" Shiro said, casually bringing up as if it was the most causal thing. "That's different, you and Adam have been dating for forever and you just now added Curtis, I expected something much more slowed paced from you guys" Keith said glaring back at Shiro for bringing up James.

Shiro just rolled his eyes and leaned onto the island, "I know you didn't just come here to complain about my sex life, you only ever come early when you really want to talk" he stated, grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl placed in the middle. Keith just walked over to the pantry and barged into it, looking for something to cook. "Do you want any specific?" He asked, and Shiro shook his head in response, "Macaroni and cheese it is then" Keith stated as he grabbed the box. He read what ingredients he needed and paced around the kitchen to grab them, eventually starting a fire and boiling water in a pot.

"So I went down to the beach yesterday" Keith started as he watched bubbles form at the bottom, and there was silence for a moment. "And..?" Shiro asked, resting his head in his hand as he watched Keith proceed to open the box. "You know I know about mermaid holidays, and yesterday happened to be one. And so when I get there, I expect like, zero to none merfolk there" He continued, pouring the macaroni into the boiling water.

"But let me guess, there was one" Shiro said, already expecting this. "No Shiro. Not just one, a whole family" Keith stated, mixing the macaroni in the water, "So I just thought, 'Hey, they're pretty out in the water and I'll just sit in the far corner of the beach and it'll all be fine!'. But no. One of the mermaids just swam up to a rock nearby my sitting area and just got up on top of it. So, I just got up to leave so he wouldn't notice me—"

"'He'?" Shiro asked, mentally laughing at the fact a male one (Keith preferable gender) happen to be the one to annoy him. "Yes Shiro, 'he', no big deal" Keith said, moving the pot to the sink so he can drain the water, "But anyways, I try to get up and leave, but this guy just so happens to notice me and insult my hair. MY HAIR SHIRO. A mermaid has never once insulted my hair the way he did". "How did he insult it?" Shiro asked, surprised to hear this about a mermaid. "He called it a mullet" Keith said, placing the macaroni back into the pot and grabbing a measuring cup.

"After he insulted it, I honestly gained some ounce of respect for him actually insulting me, instead of complimenting and flirting with me. But when I go over to him to see what the hell he wants, all of the respect I just had, gone, put in a glass jar, thrown across the room and stomped on" Keith said, stirring butter into the pot. "He flirted with you didn't he" Shiro asked, saying it in for of a statement than question. "He flirted with me" Keith answered, "But that's not the worst part. When I try to walk away, he grabs onto my wing, his wet hands made contact with my feathers. Wet hands, on my wing. Do you know how fucking bad that could have been if I didn't jerk his hand away? Fucking disastrous, feathers don't just grow they way they do for me, if I mess them up it might as well be the end of the world."

"Yeah, yeah, we get it; you have a rare type of feathers. Just get this over with so I can eat" Shiro said slouching onto the island, already bored of this conversation. "So when I told him not to touch my wings, he fucking leaned down and splashed me! If I had reacted it would've gotten onto my wings, but thank god I didn't register it in time. So I hit him." Keith said, finishing up with the mac and cheese. "You hit him? Like physically?" Shiro asked

"No just with my wing, but it seemed that the impact made him go flying. He fell into the water further out into the ocean and once he resurfaced he flipped me off and left with his family" Keith put some of the mac and cheese onto a plate and gave it to Shiro. "Your definitely fucked" Shiro said, taking the plate, "You know mermaids can curse people right?"

"Yeah I know, but that's certain mermaids. He didn't look like he had the ability to do so" Keith said, probably being more relaxed about this than he should be. "Alright fine, but if you wake up to no wings, don't come to me for help" Shiro said, shrugging before he grabbed a forked.

"Mamá! I'm telling you! He had this look in his eyes!" Lance complained but his mother just shook her head as she continued to hang seashells in what would be considered their kitchen. "Mi hijo you know better than to think it was love at first sight, this is no fairytale" she continued to hang seashell after seashell, trying to get them as close as possible.

"You don't understand! His eyes we're purple! Purple mamá! You know, the color I glow in my sleep" Lance said, gesturing to his markings but his mother just rolled her eyes at him and placed down her seashells. "Go help your hermana with copping up the seaweed, try to distract yourself from this boy" She said, waving off Lance before turning back to hanging seashells.

Lance huffed and swam to the other part of the kitchen to help his sister, but she was already done, and she was looking at Lance amused. "Do you want to tell me this story about this mysterious boy?" she asked sarcastically, but Lance just sighed and sank down to the floor carelessly. "Purple eyes Rachel, purple!" Lance whined, knowing his sister would understand him more. She just looked down at him and snorted.

"You also glow blue Lance, you could be looking at the wrong person" She said, but Lance just sat up quickly to object. "I only glow blue when I'm doing aura rituals! Glowing purple in my sleep is different!" Lance stated, and Rachel just cocked an eyebrow at him. "It's not like you'll ever see him again though" She said, just fueling on Lance's belief. "If its fate I will" Lance said. "And if its not?" Rachel asked, and Lance slumped back down to the ground.

"I'll be crying for the next week or so" He stated, and his twin just sighed.
