"Un-freaking believable!"Mandi was on the verge of no control.

"Okay, calm down."Shane said, then took a gulp of his energy drink.

"Don't tell me to calm the hell down Shane, I'm going to kill you. "

Shane rolled his eyes. Here we go again.

"What does he see in her?! "Mandi continued with her dramatic outburst.

Shane took a deep breath and prayed to every high deity he could think of for some much needed patience, else he was afraid that he would literally combust.

Here he was, yet again stuck in the unbearable company of the she-monster, and of all places, in his hot car that was stuck in traffic with two rude drivers on the left, an old lady behind him that kept screaming obscenities and a fire breathing Mandi in his passenger seat.

Honestly, he would have given anything not to be stuck in this moment, but what's a guy to do when an angry girl turns up at your door, barges into your house, finds you in your Spongebob boxers and demands you take her out for a drink or else she was gonna skin you with a butter knife?

Not much of choices left than to unwillingly give in.

"Are you even listening!? "Mandi's explosion jerked Shane from his trance.

"Oh no, she did that? "He deadpanned in a bored voice, earning himself a look that could bring a tornado to life.

"Shane, "Mandi smiled. Shane swallowed hard. "If you give me your usual shit, I'm going to poke your eyeballs out with my nails! "

"Whoa, okay, what's with all the threats? "Shane was suddenly cold and alarmed.

Mandi took three deep breaths.

"I'm sorry, I'm just having an upsetting day. "She said calmly, caressing his arm.

Shane flinched.

"Well, I'd hate to see you have a terrible day. "

Mandi narrowed her eyes at him.

Thankfully, they had started moving again.

"Why are you in a bad mood, anyway? What did she do this time? "

"I hate how you assume it's just her. "

"Well, am I wrong? "

Mandi shrugged.

"What happened? "Shane probbed.

"He asked her to be his girlfriend. "

Shane froze. The nerve of that Falcon boy.

"You've got to be freaking kidding me. "His voice suddenly become low and menacing, even to Mandi.

"Well, he did it. And just last night. "

Last night, huh?

"And how do you already know this? "Shane asked, anger boiling in his veins like crazy.

How did he beat him to it? He just always has to win, doesn't he?

"I have my ways. "Mandi said nonchalantly.

She watched Shane clench his teeth.

"Now who's having a a bad day? "

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the cat lover. "

Casey froze in her spot, the kebab still lifted to her mouth, and closed her eyes temporarily wishing the annoying voice to go away already so she could eat her food in peace. But she knew that voice, and she also knew that it was not going away anytime soon, not that she really wanted it to go away anyway, and would continue to pester her until she cowarded off.

She turned around to face him, plastering a grin to hide her pain.

However, she didn't anticipate how his jaw dropped, his eyes raking over her entire body.

"Case-holy hell, do you have a sunburn, or were you actually born this hot? "

He dropped one of his world-famous pick up lines, not missing how incredibly hot she looked in her off-shoulder black temptation of a dress.

"It'll probably do you a lot better if I mentioned am not falling for it... "Casey shook her head, fixating her gaze on his face.

"Same, "He half smiled, half cackled. "That was really corny, but I'm sure you are about to fall for the next one. "

"Bring it on, bad boy. I'm sure my pick up lines are waaaay better than yours. "

And so it became a competition.

"Are you a fruit? Cause Honeydew  know how fine you look right now? "

Casey snorted.

"Cringe worthy."

"Okay, okay. How about this one, are you Mexican?Because you're my Juan and only!"

Casey mockingly guffawed.

"Oh my God. Just stop, okay? "

Jack waved her off, a smug grin on his well-structured face.

"Okay, cat-lover. Let's see what you've got. "He dared her.

Casey smirked.

"Are you a parking ticket? Cause you've got fine written all over you. "

Jack laughed, she was good.

Casey continued, "Or maybe, Do you have a band aid, cause I just scraped my knee falling for you. "

"So Cheesy. A good pick up line should be in the lines of, Did you sit in a pile of sugar? Cause you have a pretty sweet a-"

"Okay! "Casey held her hand up, feeling like this was getting out of hand, "we should probably stop there. "If they didn't, she was pretty sure he was gonna find a way to turn this so sexual and dirty her face would be buried in red.

"But I was just getting into it. "Jack whined, making her laugh, and soon he also joined her, feeling much more light-burdened.

The day had been tough.

"What are you doing here, anyway?"Jack asked Casey, both of them walking toward the nearest table with full plates and drinks in their hands.

"What, you didn't think I was gonna miss this buffet just cause your clumsy butt lost a shot and made the  team lose, huh?"

Jack suddenly felt small and bashful.

"How did you know it was here, anyway? "He said in a small voice.

Casey popped sweet corn into her mouth and shrugged.

"You're not the only one  who knows where stuff is happening."

She eyed him curiously.

"What happened? "

Jack scrunched up his eyebrows in confusion so darn adorably Casey wanted to pinch his cheeks.

"What do you mean? "

"I mean with the game, you were so close. "

Jack scratched the back of his neck uncomfortably.

"I.. uhm..I.. Uh"

"Use.. Words. "

"Coach is so angry with me, right now,  damn it. I mean, he did warn me. "He closed his eyes in exasperation.

"Warn you of what? What happened? "Casey's voice was soft but insistive.

"I've been kinda..distracted lately. "

"Distracted with what? "She pushed herself to ask, even though judging from the soulful look and dopey eyes they were both giving each other, she already had her answer.

Jack was quite for a moment before he lowered his gaze.

"A lot. "He said under his breath, barely audible to anyone but Casey.

She didn't know what to say.

"Oh. "

"Yeah. "

You could cut the thick sexual tension with a knife.
