Lalisa's POV
I look out the window and watch the dim street lights become streaks before my eyes. As we sit on the quiet ride, I can't help but wonder if this is real. If I'm actually a target from my dads Mafia group, just because he owes them money. And, he fled leaving me and my now deceased mother by ourselves. I quietly cry as we zoom to God knows where.
Soon we aren't even on a street, we are on dirt roads once again. "Are you okay?" He finally asks in a comforting voice, cutting through the silence. I don't look at him. "I'm just fine." Is all I say.
How can he ask me that? I just lost my mother, I have no other family that would care enough about me to take me in because they're all too scared to get involved, then be killed by the Mob as well. I'm almost a grown woman anyways, but it's at least nice to know there's someone that would care about me. But there's not, it's even possible that God doesn't care about me. "I need you to put this on." He stops the car. I look at his hand. "Are you crazy?" I ask pushing his hand away.
He frowns. "Just put it on dammit! Do you want to be found!?" He raises his voice, it has an accent to it that I can't really figure out. Korean? His Thai is good though.
Being found would definitely not be better than this. I take the sleeping mask out of his hand and slip it on over my eyes. "It's only for precautions, just in case..." He pauses. "Can't give you any ideas." He says in a low tone. "You speak Korean?" He asks. "Ah, So you don't know everything about me.", "Yeah Yeah, do you speak it or not because I don't know much Thai." He says. I switch to Korean, "I speak it fluently." I tell him. I sense his smile, "That's good." Them it goes quiet again for a while.
"How do you know that I would have become a sex slave?" I ask, a bit curious. I hear his breath hitch. "I've seen it before, that's what he usually does. Well.. more like what the more ruthless Mafia leaders do. They take the oldest daughter or even all the daughters. It makes them even more money to turn the girls to prostitutes." He says.
Not being able to look at his face helps me realize that his voice is actually really erotic. Wait.. what!? Did I just admit that!? Ewe! "So you know it would happen to me?" I ask, trying to change my stupid thoughts around to what we were talking about before. He clears his throat.
"That's why it's a good thing I was there." He states I realize that he's right. If he wasn't there to save me, there would probably be a whole mess of guys who would be getting their way with me right now. "Thank you.." I say quietly. "It's my mission" is all he says, not even a 'you're welcome'. Shit. "How am I your mission? This is still kidnapping."
He lets out a low chuckle. "Why don't I just turn this car around and give Chuan what he wants." He says with full seriousness, and I become scared. He sounds like the type of person to do what they say they'd do. "No, I'm fine here.." I say gripping the seat. He chuckles again and stops the car. "Good, because I wasn't intending to take you anywhere else since we're already here," he says before closing the car door on the driver's side.
"Get out." Is the first thing I hear when he opens my door. Rude. I grab my bag then feel a strong force grip my arm and yank me out of the car, almost making me fall forward, but he has a tight grip on my arm. "Any slower and they'd find us for sure." He whispers in my right ear. That's how close I was to him, my back against his chest and his hand gripping my arm. Definitely no way in me escaping now, I guess I'll have to endure it.
My heart starts to thud in my chest, I can't say a word. If anything, I would be a sex slave here. With this guy. Ugh! What was I thinking coming with this guy!?
I hear keys and possibly a door being unlocked, we step inside the house. The mask is pulled off my face, I fix my bangs with my fingers. My eyes widen in awe. "I'm going to be staying here?" I ask. "We're going to be staying here." He corrects, making me cringe before I look at him awkwardly. "Yeah, but I'm safe. You don't have to stay with me." I say. He lets out a rude chuckle.
"And what are you going to do if they show up? Scratch them to death?" He's right, I cross my arms and throw up my nose. "Fine." I turn and start to walk around the house, he follows close by. I keep throwing him glances, hoping he'd get the idea that I don't need him to follow around me everywhere. I turn out of nowhere and he automatically stops, it's like he could predict my moves before I do them. "Can't I have a moment to breathe!? You're taking up all my air!"
A mad expression consumes his face and he grips my arm. "HEY! WHA-" I almost fumble when he pulls me to the side, almost making me fall. My bag basically pulling me down. He pulls me up the staircase and into a room.
What the hell is going on!? He grabs my bag and tosses it on the bed. I watch the bag fly in the air and flop on the bed, I'm completely surprised when I'm forced against the wall. My arms gripped by his hands. I gasp, his face is inches away from mine. It's like I can see the steam coming out of his ears and nostrils, the veins in his neck popping out.
Wow, this guy is short tempered. "Maybe you don't get the sitch, Lalisa. I'm here to keep you safe." The way he said my name gave me chills down my spine. Why is he down talking me like I'm a child?
"So maybe you can lay off a bit on being a bitch, and be thankful you're not on your back getting your brains fucked out of you right now." My eyes dare not to leave his piercing ones like he was staring into my soul. He steps back and he walks away from me. "You'll be staying in here for tonight." He walks towards the door.
I shoot up from against the wall but the door slams and I hear the sound of the lock. I bang my fists against the door. "HEY!" I frown. I'm here in a house, like a prisoner with a guy I don't even know. For all I know, he's a rapist!
I walk over to the huge bed and flop on it, right away my back starts to tingle as the foam shapes to my curves. "Temprapedic." I hum. The ceiling had a pretty champagne color with swirls. I let out a breath. "Why do I have to be the one to go through this?"

Namjoon's POV
"Yes, we're at the safe house," I say over the phone. "Good, and at least you have her.. In.. Where?" He asks. I let out a breath. "On the roof," I say sarcastically. "She's here with me Sehun, are you stupid?" It's quiet. "You know you're the only one that talks to me like that. Jackson doesn't talk to me like this, not even Taemin nor Hongbin and Chanyeol dare not to talk to me the way you do." I roll my eyes.
"But you're much too valuable to fire from the Witness Protection Program, so I have to deal with your shit. You've done riskier jobs than any of them put together." I let out a breath. "Duh," I say under my breath. "You're just lucky I'm not on your ass the way bosses should be." He says, and he's right. "And don't you forget who took your ass in when you had nowhere to be."
"Sorry boss, it's just that this Lalisa chick is a real twat and I don't really feel like taking this case." He let out a breath. "Look Namjoon, I just want to see how you do with this witness protection shit. If you're completely horrible at it, I'll just send you back to regular missions... Okay?" He asks. "Fine." I roll my eyes. "Where is she anyway?" He asks. "Locked in her room." It's quiet, I'm about to hear shit for it. "Really Namjoon? Really?" He lets out a breath. "Did you do that?" He asks I hold my breath.
"You need her to trust you Namjoon! Not hate you! Please, I know you're a real ass to everyone, but she just lost her mother today for crying out loud, and her dad left them for dead. If you're going to be a jerk, wait a couple of days until she's done grieving." I nod as if he can see me. "And just remember there are cameras in the front of the house and back... Be safe Namjoon, I'll call you tomorrow for a review." ,"Got it, boss." He hangs up.
I look upstairs and let out a stressful breath. "It's now or never," I say. I walk over to the kitchen, I'd assume she's hungry. Girls like food right?
I'll try not to burn the house down.

Lalisa's POV
Besides the huge ass jerk downstairs, I can get used to this room. It was beautiful, two times as big as the one I had. And, it comes with a huge bathroom. I flop on the bed in my pajamas, an oversized shirt, and my shorts.
I found myself staring into space, the sounds of the guns that killed my mother still haunt me. Just then there's a click at my door, I pull my legs to my chest. He slowly walks in and he approaches my bed with a tray in his hand.
"I assumed you'd be hungry." He says setting the tray on the far corner of the mattress, not coming any closer. He scratches the back of his neck. "It's okay if you have nothing to say, I know that you've been through a lot today." He says. I pull my hair behind my ear. "And I'm sorry about your mother." I bite my lip.
"I'll be in my room, just across the hall. Knock on your door if you need anything, I'm a light sleeper." He says turning. "Thank you.." I finally say. He stops and grins at me, I didn't think a guy like him knew how to do such thing. A deep dimple appears on his cheek. "Of course." He nods. "Sleep well.." He says walking towards the door.
I wait for him to close and lock the door before I crawl over to the edge of the bed. He had made me two grilled cheese sandwiches, my favorite. I sit back and enjoy my sandwiches that were perfectly made. "I'm okay mom, just so you know," I say playing with my bangs. "I'm sure you're looking down at me right now, please watch over me.." I blink back tears. "Thanks for sacrificing your life for mine.." I wipe my eyes.
I set the empty tray on the nightstand and curl into a ball, trying my best not to cry too loud as I slowly tired myself out. I don't remember how long it took, but I finally fall asleep.
**
Namjoon's POV
As I lay in my bed, I can hear her crying. Since the house was so big and basically empty with just the two of us in it, I can hear everything. It went on for almost two hours, and I feel really bad. She went through a lot today, she doesn't deserve this. If her jackass of a father never left them, her mother would still be alive.
This is what my other colleagues have to go through?
Soon the small whimpers go away and I assume that she's fallen asleep. I get up from my bed and walk over to her room. I hope that one day I wouldn't have to lock her in her room, depending on how long we're here. I slowly open the door. There she is, in a small ball in the center of the gigantic bed. I quietly walk over.
The moonlight from the window made her look peaceful as she slept, I see her shiver. Stupid girl, why didn't you get under the covers? I slowly pull the blankets over her small body. I stand there for a while then head back into the hall, locking her door behind me. Just then there's a knock at the front door, I stick my hand under the tall coffee table against the wall and grab the hidden handgun.
I walk quickly but quietly down the stairs in the dark, my gun raised and ready for the fire. There's another knock. I check through the peephole and grunt, lowering my gun and opening the door. "What's up Namjoon?" I set the gun on the table next to the door. "Jackson, what the fuck are you doing here?" I ask.
He lets himself in and I close the door. "The boss sent me." He says. I frown, of course. "What? Did he think I was gonna do a bad job at this WP shit?" I ask I ask anyways. He chuckles. "Exactly, what do you have to eat?" I lock the door. "Dude, what the fuck? You had a gun in your hand?" He asks, pointing at the handgun that I had set on the table.
"Who'd you think I was?" He asks. "Are you an idiot? I didn't know someone was being sent, I thought you were someone here to hurt Lalisa." I say turning on the light and he follows me to the kitchen. "Don't leave this laying around genius." He hands me the gun. "Oh, yeah. Shit, thanks." I stuff it in the side of my waist strap I always wear.
"So this Lalisa girl." He starts as he looks through the refrigerator. "What about her?" I ask. "Is she cute?" Should have seen that coming. "Jackson, what the fuck?" He shrugs as he pulls out meats and a loaf of bread. "I'm just wondering, shit. Wasn't a trick question." He starts making himself a sandwich. "Why do you care?" I ask. "Cause." He states, my eyebrows knit.
"You better not pick up on her," I say, he smiles. "Why not? You'll get jealous cause I'm hotter than you?" I smack his sandwich out of his hands, he frowns. "Ass." He says under his breath. "Can you not be annoying when you see her? She just lost her mother and Chuan Juntasa is after her.", "Okay." He nods. "Good.." I nod. "But is she cute?"
I smack my forehead. "Stop being a fucken dog." He makes himself another sandwich. "Fine! Fuck... I was just wondering what you thought of her." My eyebrows know. "Why would you care? You know I already got a girl." I ask. He puts the bread away and the meat. "I'm just wondering shit, can't I wonder?" He asks.
"Whatever, what did Sehun tell you?" I ask. He bites into his sandwich. "Why did you have to come here and eat our food?" I ask, his eyebrows knit. "Chill, I came from a mission. I'm hungry." That's reasonable. "Fin, now what did Sehun tell you?" I ask. "Apparently Chuan Juntasa is checking phone trackers, you better hope she doesn't have her phone." He says. My eyes widen. "Fuck, I didn't check that."
Jackson shakes his head. "See, that's a good thing I'm here." He says with a mouth full of food, bits of food flying out onto the island. I wince. "You're cleaning that." I point at the mess, he swallows his food. "I know that... Anyways, you'd better check 'cause they can find her in seconds, and she'll be a goner." He explains.
I then prayed to God that she didn't have her phone. We both walk up to her room, he was so eager to see what she looked like. I told him if he touched her, I'd punch him in the face. We walk into her room and I freeze when she's not in her bed. "Fuck!" I scream. "Excuse me?" I turn and she's coming out of the bathroom, gosh... I must be really tired if I really thought she wouldn't still be in her room.
She takes a step back. "Who's he?" She asks. I'm about to introduce him, but of course, he does the honors. "I'm Jackson." He smiles. I roll my eyes. "What are you doing in my room?" She asks I loosen up. "Do you, by any chance, have your phone." Her eyebrows pull together. "I knew I forgot something." She whispers. I lean against the door frame. "Thank God." I let out a breath, Jackson just stands there weirdly staring at her.
"Does he have a staring problem? 'Cause it's creeping me out." She says. I punch him in the arm. "Ow!" He rubs his bicep. "I mean.." He looks at Lalisa. "That didn't hurt one bit, he punches like a bitch." He shrugs. "Sure, 'cause that's why you cried like a bitch." I laugh at her comment, he frowns. "Damn girl, you got a mouth on you." She shrugs and walks over to her bed. "So, why did you ask if I had my phone?" She asks.
"Chuan is trying to find you. He was tracking your phone, but since you hopefully left it at your house. They'll be sent right back to their start." I say. She nods. "That's good then." She says. "Do you want to come downstairs?" Jackson asks. I shoot him a glare. "Umm. I don't know.." She says. "Awe come on." He smiles.
"Now that you did that, I really don't want to go." She says laying back in her bed. I punch him in the arm again. "Why the fuck do you keep doing that?" He asks. "'Cause you're annoying!" I push him out of the room. I look at her. She's laying on her side staring out the window at the full moon. "Are you sure you don't want to come down?" I ask.
"Will you make me another grilled cheese?" She asks, I nod. She gets up and we all walk down the stairs. She looks around the house, still in awe. Probably being that I threw her in her room before she could actually see the rest of it. "So is this like a safe house or something?" She asks. "Yeah," Jackson says stealing a seat next to her at the island.
It's probably because she's, in fact, cute, for me it's more in a sister way and she's basically wearing only a big shirt that only went slightly pass her butt. But aye, I got a girl, I'm still going to beat Jackson's ass if he touches Lisa though. He can get fired for it. "What do you guys do exactly?" She asks. "What the fuck Namjoon? You didn't let her ask questions?" I turn around from the stove and shoot him a dirty look. "She didn't ask," I say.
"No, it's true." She says. I grab a plate and set the grilled cheese sandwich on it, I walk over and set it in front of her. "Thanks." She smiles, I nod. "So you guys are...?" She asks. "We're a lot of things," Jackson says. "Like what?" She asks taking a bite of the sandwich, I turn off the stove.
"We're.. nothing specific actually." He says. I sit down at the other side of the island. "I don't get it." She looks confused.
"Jackson, stop being stupid," I say. "Fine, you explain since you do everything." He rolls his eyes. "You do everything? What does that mean?" She asks. "He basically does whatever the boss tells him to. He can be a hacker, bounty hunter, spy. Anything you can think of from all the cool action movies, he's just the real thing." He says, making more sense than he was before. "But this WP stuff is new to him." He says, she looks at me. "WP?"
"Witness Protection," I say. "That's why he's so bad at it." Jackson chuckles, I keep a straight face. "I just started," I say, she chuckles. "He's alright." She shrugs, I grin. "What!? Namjoon!? Did you just grin?" I want to really punch him in the face now, my grin quickly goes away. He knows I only grin with certain people, just most of the time not with him cause he acts like this whenever there's a girl.
But mostly, he calms down once he gets into the mentality that this is a mission, not a playground. So Jackson will be back to normal, and he'll be more reliable than on the first day. "Shut up Jackson." She chuckles again. "I can tell you're gonna get on my nerves." She says. "Me?" Jackson and I ask in sync, pointing at ourselves. She points at Jackson causing me to laugh. "Don't worry. He gets on everyone's nerves." I say. She grins and looks down, I wondered what was wrong.
I can feel this weird guy staring at me, he really does have a staring problem.. I wished I had worn more to bed. I look back up at him, and once again he has a serious face. Why is he so serious? Is it because of his job?
"I'm actually... Um... Tired. Can I go back to sleep?" I ask, he nods. I stand up and pull down my shirt as low as I can. He gets up too and he walks me up to my room. Did he think I'd want to try to leave? It surprisingly hasn't crossed my mind. "I apologize about Jackson, he's kind of an idiot." He says. I chuckle. "Yeah." I'm not even going to deny it.
He forces back a laugh, I can tell. "That's good that you know he is, but in all seriousness, he's one of our best. And I just want you to know that you're in good hands and he's not always like that. So don't feel scared or unsafe." He says I start to feel a little better. "Thanks." I grin, He nods. "Good night." He says. "Night.."
**
I lay in bed, thinking a lot. Like where my pathetic father is at. If he even cares that his wife is dead, he probably knows Chuan is looking for him. They won't stop until they find him, and now they're looking for me. That's the good part I guess if they could find my dad... They'd forget about me... Right? I don't know, maybe I'm looking on the bright side too much.
"Why must you always be a dumb bag?" I hear downstairs. "Ugh. Namjoon, you're just jealous cause she's cute and I was talking to her." My heart stops. "Jackson, shut up. She's asleep, she had a rough day I already told you." I hear.
"You think she finds me attractive?", "What girl would find a monkey attractive?" I chuckle. "Ugh. Whatever, is my room set up?" I hear a groan. "You weren't kidding when you said you were staying?", "Bosses orders.", "Fuck.", "Oh my gosh Namjoon, you swear." ,"Let's just go to bed." ,"Ewe, together?" I hear a thud. "Ow! What was that for!?" I hear another thud.
"Shut up, Lalisa's asleep you twat. And no, we're not sleeping together." ,"Can sleep with Lisa?" I hear another thud, but its harder this time. "Stop punching me." ,"Stop being an idiot." I grin, they're really weird and I like that. I pull my covers higher to my shoulder. I hear them arguing downstairs, it's funny. Surprisingly, it helped me fall asleep faster. It's strange how I already felt safe.
I start to slowly fall back to sleep.
