It was the day of the coronation. The whole kingdom had gotten together to witness prince Ben become king. Everyone at the castle was excited as they waited for prince Ben to arrive. "Oh, and there comes Ben now." Snow White, who was the reporter of the evening, told everyone who was watching from their home.
Nia and Ben sat in the carriage as they were driven down to the stairs. Nia stared at the box in her hands that she had gotten from Mal a few hours earlier. She knew exactly what was in it. The anti-potion brownie. Ben noticed that the green-eyed girl stared at the box, so he grabbed her hand. "Don't be nervous." The brunette looked at him. "All you have to do is sit there and look beautiful." He pushed her leg playfully. "No problem there." Nia smiled at don't even think about it. "Thank you."
"Nia, would you wear my ring?" He asked her, starting to take off his ring. "Um.. not know." She stopped him. "I think it would probably just fall right off of me." Nia knew that she couldn't wear that ring. She wasn't ready for such a commitment yet. The brunette thought that she still had feelings for a certain pirate, but she wasn't sure.
"I have something for you." Nia told the prince sitting beside her. "For me?" He grinned, surprised at her. "Yeah." He took the box from her. "It's just for later, you know, when you need strength. Some carbs to keep up your energy." He opened the box. "Always thinking." He complimented her as he took the brownie out. "But I cant't wait." Then he took a bite. "No!" Nia yelled out to him. He was not supposed to eat it yet. "Mm! This is really good." Ben told her with his mouth full of brownie. "Uh, do you," Nia didn't know what to do. She was on the verge of a panic attack. "Nia?" He asked her, worried if she was okay or not. "Do you feel okay?" The brunette was worried. This could ruin her plan. "You bet." He smiled at her.
"Would you say that you're still in, that, that you have very strong feelings for me?" Nia had to make sure that this wouldn't ruin her plan, or else she would have to come up with something on the spot. "I'm not sure." He said as he put the bow down. "I mean, let's give the anti-love potion a few minutes to take effect." Nia nodded. "Okay." That's when she fully realized what happened.
Ben started to laugh at her. "What? You knew?" She was very confused at this point. "That you spelled me?" He smirked at her. "Yeah. Yeah, I knew." The young prince laughed. "I can explain myself." Ben looked at her. "No, look, it's fine. I mean, you had a crush on me, I was with Audrey. You didn't trust that it could happen on it's own." Yeah, let's go with that version of the story. "Am I right?" Ben asked her. "Yes." Nia nodded her head. "You're so right." She hesitated a moment before she asked the question that was burning in her head. "So then, how long have you known?" The young girl looked at don't even think about it. "Since our first date." He told her. "Your spell washed away in the enchanted lake."
"So then what? You've just been," Nia paused for a moment. "Faking it since then?" She was confused and a little bit hurt. She would never forgive him if he had just been playing her. Ben grabbed her hand, putting on his ring before he kissed her hand. "I haven't been faking anything." He looked her in the eyes as she smiled, happy that he hadn't been playing her.
They arrived at the castle, Ben helping her out of the carriage. "Princess!" Snow White came up to them. "Now, let's see who this beauty is wearing." She looked at a card, "Evie." Snow White read. "Someone named Evie designed her gown." Ben took Nia's hand as they walked up to his parents. Belle smiled at Nia. "Abut the other day, I just-" She was cut off by the king. "I told Ben this wasn't going to be easy." Ben looked at his dad. "You also thought me that a king has to believe in himself." The prince told him. "Even when it isn't easy."
The beast looked happy. "I did?" Belle slapped his arm. "I, how very wise of me." Nia slightly laughed. "Ben, we are so proud of you." His mother cooked his hands. "You keep listening to your heart." Ben smiled at her. "Thanks, mom."
"You're gonna make a fine king." His dad told him as he placed a hand on his shoulder before they left. Ben turned to Nia, giving her a small hug. "Wish me luck." He smiled at her as she started to walk away so she could find her spot.
After a few minutes had passed, the doors swung open and the prince walked in. Everyone stared in awe as he walked down. When he reached the front, Fairy Godmother took the crown off of the beast as Ben kneeled. She placed the grown on his head, and Ben looked up at his father that nodded at him, being proud of his son. The case that the wand was in was lifted off and the fairy grabbed it. Nia looked up at her friends, starting to feel nervous. It was now or never. She had to get the wand.
"Do you solemnly swear to govern the peoples of Auradon with justice and mercy as long as you shall reign?" Fairy Godmother asked don't even think about it. "I do solemnly swear." Ben answered her. "Then it is my honor and my joy to bless our new king." Suddenly the wand was grabbed from her grasp and panic started to form in the room as the wand went wild in Jane's hands. A bright light shot out of the wand on towards the Isle of The Lost. The room started to shake, meaning one thing, the barrier was broken. "Child, what are you doing?" The fairy was shocked at her daughter's actions. "If you won't make me beautiful, I'll do it myself!" Jane waved the wand rapidly. "Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!" Ben ran in front of Nia, protecting her from any harm that might come. This was her only chance, she had to take it.
Mia ran towards Jane, grabbing the wand from her. "Careful, Nia!" The queen called out to her. Mia got the wand, holding it in the air as fear struck the building. "Nia, give me the wand." Ben commanded her, stretching is hand out to her. "Stand back." She warned him as her friends ran down the aisle, stopping when they reached her. "It's okay." He told her. "Ben, I said stand back!" Nia yelled at him. "I told you so!" Audrey said and moved forward. Nia turned to her making her retreat in fear of her.
Nia gave the wand to Mal. "Let's go!" Carlos said to them. "Revenge time." Jay added. Ben looked at them. "You really want to do this?" He asked them, looking a bit hurt. "We have no choice, Ben!" Mal told him. "Our parents-" She was cut off. "Your parents made their choice." He looked at them. "Now you make yours." Nia and Mal looked at each other before they looked at everyone else. Their parents where the baddest villains of them all. Where they just about to let them down?
"I think I want to be good." Mal said as Nia stayed silent. She didn't know what she wanted. "You are good." He told her. "How do you know that?" Mal shouted at him, gripping the wand in her hands tightly. "Because," He took a step closer to the group of villain kids. "Because I'm listening to my heart." He said, mostly towards Nia. She looked at him. Her heart was torn in two different directions. "I want to listen my heart, too." Mal turned to her friends. "And my heart is telling me that we are not our parents." She dropped the wand as she grabbed Nia's hand.
"I mean, stealing things doesn't make you happy." She told Jay. "Tourney and victory pizza with the team makes you happy." Jay looked at Carlos, smiling at his best friend. "And you," Mal looked at Carlos. "Scratching Dude's belly makes you happy. Who would have thought?" She turned towards Evie. "And Evie, you don't have to play dumb to get a guy. You are so smart." They both slightly laughed, tears forming in their eyes. "And Nia," The purple head looked at the brunette. "We know how much you miss the Isle and how much you want to make your mother proud. But look how fare you have come. You are so strong." A tear fell down Nia's cheek.
"And I don't want to take over the world with evil." She told them. "It doesn't make me happy." Mal paused. "I want to be here, and to go to school." She looked at Nia. "And Ben makes you really happy." Nia looked at Ben. He made her happy, and so did her friends. But her true happiness wasn't in Auradon. "Us being friends makes me really happy." Mal told her friends that were like family to them all. "Not destroying things. I choose good, you guys." She held out her fist towards them. It was silent for a moment. "I choose good, to." Jay said and put his fist in. "I choose good." Evie added in and put her fist in too. "So, just to be clear, we dont have to be worried about how really mad our parents will be?" Carlos said, making them all laugh. "Because they're gonna be really, really mad."
"Your parents can't reach you here." Ben promised them. "Okay then, good." He joined them. "Nia?" Everyone looked at her. "Guys, that has been our home for sixteen years. Our friends and families lives there. I don't know if I can turn my back on them." She told her friends. "We are your friends and family, Nia. This is our home now." Jay told her, reaching for her hand. "If I do this, promise me that no matter what, we will always stick together. Even if it gets hard." They all smiled at her. "We promise." Nia but her fist in before she looked back at Ben and nodded her head towards the group. He come to them and but his fist in.
Everything was finally good and they were all happy, well not everyone.
