Ch. 17 The Wizarding Savior's Sorting

Minerva continued to call students' names. Theodore Nott was the first student to be called and sorted into Slytherin. Ruby, Harry, and Blaise cheered for Theodore.

Pansy Parkinson was the second student to be called and sorted into Slytherin. Ruby's deep blue eyes blinked, looking confused when she saw Pansy giving her a dirty look.

' What did I ever do to her?' Ruby internally asked.

Padma and Parvati Patil were the third and fourth students to be called and sorted into Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, respectively.

Ruby looked at Harry worryingly after watching the two sisters look at one another longingly.

" Harry, what if we get sorted into different houses?" Ruby's voice trembled with worry as she voiced her fear.

Harry looked at Ruby reassuringly.

"Ruby, remember, you're always welcome in my House's Common Room," Harry's voice was steady and reassuring, his smile warm and comforting.

Ruby looked relieved to know that Harry was okay with her visiting him.

Minerva's hands tightly grasped the scroll, looking at two student's names with mixed emotions. One she recognized immediately, but the second one took her by surprise because the second student had the first student's surname in a hyphen. She glanced at Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.

Headmaster Albus Dumbledore looked at Minerva and read her thoughts. He hummed when he saw the second student's full name. He nodded, which let Minerva know to continue with the sorting ceremony.

" Harry Potter!" Minerva calls out, causing the Great Hall to get silent.

" The Wizarding Savior. He's here!" Ron whispered to a first-year student near him, looking at his surroundings and wondering which one of the first-year students was Harry.

Ruby looked at Harry when she heard his name.

Harry grabbed Ruby's hand and tightly grasped it. His emerald green eyes intently stared at Ruby's deep blue eyes. He puts her hand against his lips and kisses it lovingly.

" Good luck, Harry." Ruby smiled at Harry.

Harry nodded, letting go of Ruby's hand. He turns and walks towards the stool, ignoring all eyes on him, but he can feel Ruby's eyes staring at his back.

Headmaster Albus Dumbledore intently stared at the two students. He couldn't help but see James and Lily in them. However, as he stared at Harry, his hands tightly grasped the throne chair. His whole body shivered when he saw unruly dark hair and dark emerald-green eyes instead of being hidden behind round glasses like James had. How Harry dressed and walked reminded him of a young Tom Riddle.

Harry reached the stool and turned, sitting down. He looked at the crowd and stared intently at Ruby.

Ruby smiles at Harry reassuringly, watching Minerva put the Sorting Hat on his head.

Harry sees Ruby disappear, and his vision goes black when he feels the Sorting Hat on his head.

"Ah, Harry Potter," The Sorting Hat speaks.

Everyone intently stared at Harry Potter, wondering where the Sorting Hat would place him.

Harry gets tensed when he hears the Sorting Hat's voice.

" I see a remarkable blend of qualities within you. There is bravery, willingness to face danger, and a strong sense of justice. But what stands out is your resourcefulness, cunning, and determination to succeed. You have a fierce ambition, though you may not yet recognize it. You remind me of two individuals from long ago." The Sorting Hat stated.

Harry stayed quiet, thinking about his hardships when living with his so-called Muggle relatives, the Dursleys. The only reason he hasn't gone insane is thanks to a beautiful angel, now wife, named Ruby Rose, with her deep red hair, sapphire blue eyes, rosy cheeks, and radiant smile.

Harry would do anything for Ruby. If something were to happen to her, he would cause havoc. She is the only source of happiness and humanity he has.

The Sorting Hat could see how much Ruby means to Harry. He also knows that the Wizarding World's fate depends on how they treat the young Witch. As he continued to look into Harry's memories with Ruby, he started to see his two dear friends, Salazar Slytherin and Helga Hufflepuff, in them.

" Such strong loyalty. Treasure your wife and continue making her happy. However, be aware that some might use her to get to you, as they will see that she is your number one weakness." The Sorting Hat warned.

Harry briefly nodded.

There was tension in the Great Hall because the Sorting had been taking a while.

Ruby lightly bites her lips, looking concerned.

Minerva looked at the Sorting Hat curiously, wondering what he saw in Harry's mindscape.

Severus and Headmaster Albus Dumbledore intently stared at the Sorting Hat and Harry, but they couldn't see anything, which meant that the Sorting Hat had blocked them from seeing and hearing their conversation.

" It seems as though I must continue with your Sorting." The Sorting Hat chuckled.

" You possess a keen mind and a natural talent for strategy, especially how you dealt with those who have harmed your wife. These traits are hallmarks of Slytherin. While you have the courage of a Gryffindor, your cunning and ambition make you a perfect fit for Slytherin. I now see where you belong." The Sorting Hat looks at the crowd.

" You can achieve great things, lead, and protect those you care about in," The Sorting Hat mentally says to Harry.

" SLYTHERIN!" He shouted, surprising everyone in the Great Hall.

The Great Hall fell silent for a heartbeat before erupting into whispers and gasps when they realized which house the Sorting Hat had sorted Harry.

Minerva grabbed the Sorting Hat, sneakily looking between Harry, Severus, and Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.

Draco and Theodore looked at one another and smiled since they knew Harry would get sorted into Slytherin.

Ron looked at Harry in disbelief among the first-year students when he heard where the Wizarding Savior got sorted into.

Severus and Headmaster Albus Dumbledore stared at Harry with mixed emotions. The duo had a million thoughts running through their heads. Unbeknownst to them, Professor Quirinus Quirrell stared at Harry with slight curiosity and fascination.

Harry stared intently at Ruby and saw her smile reassuringly at him, her deep sapphire blue eyes filled with happiness and support.

The nervousness of the Sorting melted away since Ruby's opinion meant more to Harry than all that was looking at him.

Harry stood and watched his Hogwarts uniform transform into Slytherin colors. As he walked towards the Slytherin table, he could feel the eyes of the entire hall on him, but he focused on Ruby's reassuring gaze, finding strength in her unwavering support.

Harry sat down between Draco and Theodore as he continued to look at Ruby, knowing her Sorting was next.
