Studying With a Slice of Pizza
***************************************************************************************************************
Hey, Readers!!! Well, I got a little announcement. After September 3rd, I do not know when I will update Let the Rain Fall. I'm gonna be in high school this fall, and I'll be studying a whole lot. So if I'm not updating for a while, then the reason why is because I'm becoming a SMART ASS! Anyhoo, here's Chapter 12, ENJOY!!

Gajeel P.O.V
I was waiting in the library for my smart-ass tutor. It was already four-thirty and here I was, all by myself, being stared at by other students in the library. This girl is getting on my last nerves. For the last sessions, Levy has been like a freakin' robot in tutoring. She also makes up so many excuses fo rme not going to her house for our Wednesday sessions, which just annoys the hell out of me. Just as I was mumbling to myself in anger, I heard Levy's gasping for air as she ran over to the table. Sweat was actually dripping from her forehead to the carpeted floor. "I'm...sorry....My mom..needed me," she apologized, out of breath.
"Whatever," I grumbled. "Let's just get this session over with so that I can go...somewhere," I muttered. She stared at me for a moment and sat down next to me, pushing the books in the center. We started out with history, math, and then English. I hated admitting it, but she was actually a good teacher. With my tutors in juvie, I couldn't understand this at all. Levy was much more patient and understanding. When we finally reached science, the subject suddenly changed. "Why do people judge you so much?"
"Huh? What are you babbling about?"
"Well, I was thinking about what happened yesterday, with the little girl-."
"You weren't suppose to see that," I muttered. She flinched a little, but had the nerve to continue on. "Well, I just think you shouldn't be judged for something that happened when you were little."
"Do you even know my story?" I asked, crossing my arms and staring at her. "Do you know the whole story of the Gajeel Redfox case?"
She was silent, looking away, playing with the ends of her hair. I sighed with frustration. "Look, you don't need to get all caught up with this. You have friends, a family, and a future. I lost all that six years ago." I snatched one of the text books and opened it to a random page, trying to change the topic. Levy grabbed my book and threw it across the table. "I know you've changed since the trial. You're tought, scary looking, evil-eyes-."
"Your point is?" I asked.
"Well, I want you to forget that, just for a while. So after this session, I want to take you somewhere. Anywhere you want."
I raised my eyebrow in shock. "You. You want to take me somewhere? Anywhere I want?"
She took a deep breath and looked at me. "Anywhere." I smirked and stared at her. She actually wanted to do this, huh? How interesting. "Have you ever heard of Gamer's Galour?"
"Gamer's what?"
"Gamer's Galour. It's a pizza palace and arcade all in one! It was my favorite place in the world when I was a kid, and I want to see it again." Her eyes flickered for a moment, tilting her head to the side. "I've never been to an arcade before."
I raised an eyebrow. "Never? What about a pizza parlor?" She shook her head again. My jaw fell in surprise. "What kind of childhood did you have?"
"My parents believe that video games lowers I.Q points. Same goes with any meat and dairy products."She explained. I sighed, giving myself a face palm. "So you've been living under a rock?"
"I have not!" She squealed.
"It's practically the same thing!" I exclaimed, laughing my ass off. This girl must've lived a sad life if she's never tried pizza. I mean sure, I would've gone easy on her if she was like a vegan, but I.Q points? That's just madness in the head! "Would you stop laughing already before I regret this," she begged.
I slowly ceased my laughing, taking deep breathes. "Alright, alright, I'll stop. Let's just get out of here before the librarian whips my ass for laughing too loud."
"Now? But we have to-."
"Yeah, yeah, we can finish all this next session later! C'mon, before it gets too dark!" I grabbed her arm and ran out of the library, ignoring Levy's ranting and the librarian's ranting of me running in the library. But I didn't care. This girl was giving me probably a once in a life time chance, and I wasn't gonna let anything in my way.
Levy P.O.V
I stared at Gajeel's shiny, dangerous looking motorcycle. He expected me to ride that thing? He turned the key in the ignition, making the motorcycle purr loudly. He sees my still by the sidewalk and throws a helmet at me. "Get on," he said.
"M-Me?" I stammered. "There's a 60% chance of us getting into a fatal accident!"
"Look pipsqueak, I don't think statistically. Now get on or you're walking," he said bluntly. I stared at the motorcycle once more. I didn't dare to go on, but according to Gajeel, the arcade was in downtown; too far to walk. I hesitantly grabbed the helmet and strapped it on my head. I climbed on the motorcycle and waited for him to ride off. "Hold on to me," he said suddenly."
"I can most definitely take care of myself!" I exclaimed.
"Look, I don't want my parole officer to blame me for your accident. Now wrap your arms around me chest and hold on tightly." I grumbled in frustration and slowly wrapped my arms around his surprisingly hard chest. I blushed a little after realizing what I was doing. "Hold on tight!" He roared. And soon, we went from standing still on a parking lot to riding high speed in the middle of the high way.
I was literally screaming my head off. I've never been on something this fast before! How could Gajeel be so calm when riding this death trap! He suddenly began to chuckle. "Are you alright, pipsqueak?"
"Does it sound like I'm alright!" I shrieked.
"Calm down! We're almost there!" He laughed. He took several swerves and turns just to make me scream some more. After several more minutes of horror, we finally slowed down as we parked in the lot. I was taking big, heavy breathes. thanking the Lord that we had stopped. "So how was your fist motorcycle ride?"
I silently fixed my leveled hair and stared at him with anger. "Let's just go inside before I hit you," I hissed. He laughed and got off the motorcycle with me, and together we headed inside.
I had never seen anything so....bright and colorful. There seriously games everywhere, and the smell of something really cheesey burned in my nose. There was loud rock music making the whole place shake. "Whoa," I muttered.
"Beautiful ain't it," he sighed. He looked over to the counter and gasped. "Pete?!"
The long haired blond stared at him and smiled like a fool. "Gajeel, my man! No way! You out of the slammer!"
"You know it!" Gajeel laughed, fist bumping the guy. Gajeel looked at me and said, "Pipsqueak, this is Pete, one of my best friends back in the day."
Pete whistled. "Wow Gajeel, that's one lady you got there. She looks like those smart professors!"
Gajeel laughed, "Yup, she's a real brainiac. Can you get us a large cheese pizza and 500 tokens?"
"Got it! And it's on the house, as a little 'Welcome Back From Juvie' present." He handed him a giant cup of gold coins and guided us to a table. We sat down and suddenly began to talk. "It's really good to see him again," Gajeel sighed, smiling a little.
"He looks a lot older than you," I stated. "How do you guys know each other anyways?" Gajeel sighed, playing with one of the hundreds of gold coins. "Even before the incident, I could never really hang out with other kids. I was too shy. If I finished my homework before eight, my mom would give me money so I can play here. Pete was in high school at the time and was here every day. He was the only person who talked to me. He'd come over to my apartment from time to time to either help me with homework or just hang out. My mom loved his company."
I smiled slightly. "He sounds like a nice guy. And so does your mom."
Gajeel stopped playing with the coin and sighed once more. "Yeah....she was a great mom."
To break the rising tension, Pete came in with a really cheesy pizza and a side of mystery dip. "Thanks man! I miss this food," Gajeel smiled.
"No probs! I'll tell my pops you came over!" Gajeel grabbed a slice of pizza, sprinkled it with the dip, and took a bite out of it. As he bit down into it, he stared at me with confusion. He swallowed and asked, "Why aren't you eating?"
"Me? I've never tried it, remember."
"Good grief, I forgot. Can't you try it, just this once?" He asked.
"But what if my mom's right? What if it does lower my I.Q points?" Gajeel sighed and looked at me. "Look, let's make a deal. If you try just one slice of pizza, I'll do extra work for you."
I raised my eyebrow. "Really? You'll do extra math, English, and other subjects."
"You name it." I stared at the cheesey pizza and groaned. I grabbed a slice and cautiously took a whiff of it. It actually aroused me a little, practically asking me to take a bite of it. So I did; one big chomp at the tip of the slice and slowly began to chew it.
Then, something clicked. What is this...sensation? It was actually delicious! Probably the best thing I've ever eaten! I laughed with excitement and continued to eat it. Gajeel laughed as well and clapped his hands. "Congrats, Pipsqueak! Now, try it with some of this sauce." I did, and it tasted even better. I squealed and finished the pizza within seconds. I licked my fingers with delight and squealed," That was delicious!"
"See what you've been missing!" Gajeel exclaimed.
"Oh, I hate my mother for hiding this from me!" We finished the whole pizza in a matter of minutes. We couldn't stop laughing at the thought of me eating this. After finishing it, Gajeel shook the cup of coins and snickered. "Ready for some games."
Like hell I was. After tasting the pizza, I didn't want to stop exploring. I nodded rapidly, and for hours, we began to play arcade games for endless hours: pinball, skiiball, Whack-A-Mole, shooting games, racing games, and other games that just excited me for no reason. At the end of it all, we ended up with over a thousand tickets. We walked over to the ticket stand where Pete was and presented our winnings. "Dudes, that's a lot of tickets! What will you be getting?"
I let Gajeel decide the prize, since today was his day. He thought about it for a minute, and picked a giant stuffed worm with nerd-looking glasses. To my surprise, he handed the prize to me. "You're giving it...to me?"
"Sure, why not. I already got my prize by being here. I thought you deserved a little something....you know, as a thank you."
I smiled and accepted the worm. I squeezed it tightly as we walked out of the arcade and back to the parking lot. I stared at it for a while and sighed. "I don't want to leave."
"Hey, it ain't going anywhere. We could always go back anytime." My heart skipped a beat when he said "we". I smiled softly and hopped on to the back of his motorcycle. We rode into the night with me staring at the stars. As I stared off into a trance, a thought repeatedly whispered in my head.
What else have I been missing?
