"You're an idiot!" I yelled through the phone.
"How!" Levy yelled on the other side of the line. I was in my room, just getting out of the shower, when Levy called me to confirm what was probably the most idiotic plan I've heard come out of the brainiac's mouth. I put on my fluffy white robe and sat on my bed with my legs crossed. "Do you even know how far Aubos is from Fiore!"
"It's only a two-day travel! We'll be taking the train!"
"That is also the other problem: You'll be going to a different country. With your boyfriend. Just the two of you."
"And that means...?"
"God, I thought you were the smart one!" I groaned, falling backwards on my bed. I flipped around and explained, "Levy...When a boy and a girl are left alone...that could bring some very...intimate feelings." There was silence on the other line. It was a silence so long I actually thought that she had hung up. Suddenly, there was a familiar high-pitched squeal that blasted my ear drums. "Oh God....Erza, I'm not ready for that! Not for....sex!"
"Levy, just calm do-"
"Calm down! Erza, you're talking to a girl who didn't know where babies came from until I was fifteen! How can I do...that!"
"Levs!" I yelled, trying to calm her down. "This Gajeel we're talking about. When it comes to you, he turns into the most gentle person I've ever met. He won't force anything on you."
"But what you just said-?"
"If he loves you enough, he can wait a thousand years until you're ready." I could hear a deep sigh come from the other line. "Thanks Erza. I'm gonna go visit Luce. Catch you later?"
"Mm," I answered before hanging up on the phone. At that exact moment, I could hear the doorbell ring from the first story door. I groaned and simply walked out of my room wearing my sweatpants and tank-top. I walked down my cold stairs as little drops water fell from the ends of my hair and onto the stairs. The doorbell rang again, showing the visitor's impatience. I growled as I grabbed the door handle and swung open and yelled, "What do you want!"
Little did I know that it was Jellal standing in the doorway. I stared at him blankly. He gave me a small wave and simply said, "Hey." I sighed with frustration and ran my fingers through my hair. "Shit, Jellal, I didn't know it was you!"
"Sorry. This kind of the first time I'm on your property, isn't it?"
"Um, yeah!" I exclaimed. "You're lucky my grandma isn't back until tomorrow morning."
"Exactly," he grinned, "which is why I brought these." In his right hand was a clear plastic bag filled with what looked like a bunch of clothes and wigs. I raised my eyebrow in suspicion. "Jellal...What is all this?"
"Well, we haven't really been out on a date yet."
"We've been on a date."
"I don't think making out in the classroom, my car, and my apartment count."
"Point noted."
"And we can't really go out in public..."
"That's true," I said, not really knowing where he was getting at.
"How about we just wear disguises and just...well, go out." I stared at Jellal with disbelief. I covered my eyes and sighed again with even more frustration. "I thought you were supposed to be the old and wise one in this relationship."
"Hey, it's not a bad idea! Just let me inside and I'll show them to you." I gestured him to come in, and he walked in and gawked at my house. I guess he's must've forgotten how loaded my family was. He whistled in amusement. "Nice place."
"I prefer your place." Jelall sat on our couch and began to lay out all the clothes he bought from the costume store. I saw a white and red-polka-dotted dress that could've been from the sixties, a short black hair wig, and red heels. Jellal's clothes was more of a punk-ish kind of thing with swoopy black hair, leather pants, contacts, and a Nirvana t-shirt. "You expect us to wear this?"
"Aw, cm'on Erza! This is a chance for us to finally go out and not be so cautious about it!" He reached for my hands and held them up between us. "After your grandmother gets back, we won't spend as much times with each other besides school. I want us to act like a normal couple ."
"Do normal couples wear disguises?" Jellal chuckled at my response. He placed his hand on my cheek and asked, "Why do I love you so much?"
I smiled. "You got me." I grabbed the clothes and went up to my room to change while he changed in the bathroom. I kept staring at the dress with discomfort and stripped of my comfortable clothes. I put my hair in a bun and placed the wig on my head and wore the shoes. I looked through my full body mirror and thought to myself, I look like a girl from I Love Lucy. I slowly walked down the stairs and gasped at the new Jelall.
He looked sexy as hell.
Just to add affect to the whole "Bad Boy" look, he even added a lip piercing on his bottom lip and let his hair go out long. His brown eyes were now grey with the new contacts. He looked up at me and examined me from head to toe with a grin on his face. "You look good."
I smirked. "You don't look so bad yourself." I walked down the rest of the steps and asked, "Now what?"
"Now," he grinned from ear to ear, "we go have some fun."
I rarely went to an amusement park. The last time I was at the mall it was with my grandpa as a reward for winning a competition. So when Jellal and I walked through the entrance, I felt a little uncomfortable. There was surprisingly a lot of people for a carnival in the middle of the winter. It had an ice-rink, lots of intense rides, little food carts, and other things you would see in amusement parks. I looked up at my boyfriend and asked, "Is this what you meant by 'fun'?"
"Aw, you don't have fun at amusement parks?"
"I'm seventeen, not seven."
"Give it a chance," he said. How could I? We stood out more than two cats in a dog pound. He was the supposed to be emo kid while I was some chic sixties chick....Somehow I thought that this wasn't going to go well.
The first ride he took us on was called the Starship 3000. It was a giant spaceship that looked as cheesy as the movie The Core. The ride assistant strapped us to what looked like gernies glued to the wall and told us the safety precautions. "I feel like I'm about to get dissected," I giggled. Jelall smiled, searching for my hand almost desperately. He squeezed my hand almost. I looked at him and asked, "Don't tell me you're scared?"
"Nah, just happy."
"About?"
"Because I'm here with you."
"I hope you know being romantically cheesy is a turn off." Jelall looked at me and gave me a goofy grin. Before he had the chance to speak, the ride made a loud, frightening noise. The ship slowly began to spin.
And spin.
And spin.
Soon, I couldn't lift my body. Everyone on the ride was screaming with terror and excitement. I ended up laughing my butt of as I attempted to lift my head. Jelall was screaming and howling at the super speed. I didn't care that my head was spinning or that I felt nauseous. I was actually having a lot of fun. So when the ride slowly stopped spinning, I either felt a feeling a disappointment in my gut or my omelet from my breakfast slowly beginning to rise. Jellal helped her unstrap from the vertical tray, she simple fell into his arms due to the dizziness. "Are you okay?" He asked.
"Oh yeah, just dandy....Can we leave now?" I asked. "Somewhere that doesn't involve spinning rapidly."
Jellal P.O.V
For countless hours, we went on every single ride. The sun was already setting and people were already starting to leave. They lit up the pink, yellow, and purple lanterns that hung up on a line, making the sky light up in such beautiful colors. Erza and I were now just walking around hand in hand, just making small talk. I could feel her wig against my shoulder and her long, slim arm around mine. I didn't know why, but just being around her made me want to just pick her up and show her what I'm made of not as her teacher, not as her boyfriend, but as a man. We had been dating officially for almost four months, and each day was better than the last.
We stopped by a food truck after Erza complained that she was hungry. Surprisingly, it was a dessert truck that sold Erza's favorite, strawberry cake. Her face lit up when she saw the item on the menu. She tucked on my sleeve and exclaimed, "They have strawberry cakes!"
It was kind of adorable the way she was so excited just for a piece of food. I took out my wallet and bought the strawberry cake for Erza and a chocolate crepe for myself. They patisserie gave us our food, and we walked to the nearest bench. The minute we sat down, Erza immediately took a bite of her cake and sighed with serenity. "Oh yeah, that's the stuff."
I laughed at her. "How would you feel if I took a bite of it?"
"I think I would kill you," she smiled. I smiled back and wrapped my arm around her. Suddenly, she took a bite of my crepe without my permission. "Hey!" I laughed. She smiled and swallowed the dessert. "You didn't say I could have a bite of your crepe, did you?" I notices a smudge of chocolate cream that resided on the corner of her lip. I leaned in gave the side of her lip a slow lick. I could feel her jolt for a minute, but I could tell by the way she didn't reject me that she was perfectly fine with it. When I pulled away, her cheeks were a soft shade of pink. "T-T-That...was unnecessary," she stuttered, looking away. I grabbed her by the chin and brought her face closer to mine. She squeaked slightly as I brushed my thumb across her chin. I smiled and leaned in. She closed her eyes and slightly puckered her lips, not knowing that I was leaning in towards the cake. I took a quick bite and was immediately enticed by the sweet taste. When I looked back at Erza, she pouted angrily. "Pervert," I chuckled.
"Am not!" She exclaimed in her defense. "I thought you were going to kiss me!"
"Did you want me to kiss you?"
She looked away. "I'm not answering that." She took a tiny peek at me, and suddenly began to touch my face and wig. "What's up with you?" I asked.
"I don't know...I just wish that we didn't have to wear disguises."
My eyes fell. "Yeah, I agree. I prefer your long, scarlet hair than this short black wig. And I know you wouldn't be caught wearing this kind of dress."
"This dress is making me feel like I should be making you a sandwich, not doing martial arts."
"But it looks pretty hot on you, you've got to admit."
"Oh, that's assuring," she laughed, "maybe if I wear this to school you'll go easy on my essays."
"You deserved that B+ and you know it."
"Whatever," she scoffed, resting her head on my shoulder. I wrapped my arm around her and brought her closer to me. For a while, we simply just watched people walk by in silence. I could slowly feel the temperature dropping as day turned into night. I could feel Erza's arm grow goosebumps and make a slight shiver. "I think it's time that I take you home."
I parked in front of Erza's house and walked her to the front door. Before she even touched the doorknob, she turned around and surprised me with her lips on mine and her arms wrapped around my neck. I slowly kissed her back and wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her closer to me. I gently pushed her against the door and threw the wig off of her pretty head, making her long, scarlet hair fly out and fall perfectly. I ran my fingers through her hair as I passionately kissed her. We slowly stopped kissing and just stared at each other for the longest time. I pressed my lips against her forehead and pulled her in for a hug. I slowly began to walk away, Erza suddenly spoke. "Um...Do you wanna stay over?"
I froze mid step and turned around. Was she seriously asking me to stay the night? Did she even know what that meant? Before I could ask, Erza must've noticed the context of her question and blushed. "N-N-Not like that! Just...'ya know, watch a movie or something and then...sleep? My grandma always has men over, so she has men pajamas."
I could feel my face slightly burning up a little. "Sure."
Erza had handed me a muscle shirt and sweatpants and placed me at her home theater while she got changed and brought food. I couldn't help but search for my box of cigarettes, but then cursed when I realized I had left them in my apartment. Erza came walking in with a bowl of popcorn, a blanket, and herself in gym shorts and a tank top. I didn't know where to stare: her legs, her face, or her breasts. "I already popped in the movie. How does Insidious sound?"
"Didn't know you liked horror movies."
"There are still a lot of things you didn't know about me." Noted. She sat down next to me and brought the food and blanket closer to us. She rested her head on my chest as I leaned back on the arm of the couch. We watched the movie in semi-silence, with the occasional scream from Erza's mouth. She wasn't a horror movie person. But in the end, we didn't get to see the full movie. Erza had fallen asleep in my arms, and I felt sleepy watching her sleep.
I woke up to Erza frantically shaking me. I jolted up in the air, still half asleep and yawning. When I noticed Erza's face, she was in panic mode. "We overslept!"
"Overslept?" I asked, still not knowing what the hell was happening.
"My grandmother is going to be here in ten minutes! You need to leave now!" My eyes widened and I quickly hopped out of the lounge. I began to take of my shirt when Erza stopped me. "We don't have time for that! Just get your clothes and leave before my grandma sees you're here!" I nodded and grabbed my clothes from off the floor. We rushed upstairs to the main foyer and I rushed through the front door. "Wait!" Erza yelled.
"What now!" I yelled, but only to be hushed by a quick kiss from Erza. She grabbed me by the cheeks and stated, "I love you."
I couldn't help but smile despite the panic. "I love you too." I sprinted towards my car, hopped inside, and turned on the engine. I quickly drove down the street towards the light, only to see a white limo park in Erza's driveway. I barely made it, I sighed with relief. I suddenly got a text from Erza. I opened it.
Is a second date still open for the future?
I smiled.
Yup.
My phone chimed. She quickly texted back.
Good, cause last night was amazing.
