Levy P.O.V
"Mom," I yelled from the top of the stairs, "did you pack my lunch?"
"Yes, darling! It's on the table! Now hurry!" My mother called. I quickly ran down the stairs, still trying to tie the ribbon in my hair. I jumped into my shoes and ran into the kitchen. My mom and dad were already in her their work clothes of suits and ties. "I gotta run!"
"Ah! What about breakfast!" My dad called out as I headed out the door.
"I'll skip just for today!" I ran out the door, sprinting to my school. My book bag was so heavy thanks to all the text books I brought the night before. "Damn, why are the text books so heavy!"
Suddenly, I could feel my phone vibrating in my pocket. I quickly answered it. "Hello!"
"It's not good to not have breakfast!" My mother's shrill voice yelled.
"Well, what else am I suppose to do! I have four extra credit essays to turn in before the first bell!"
"At least get a drink from the market! No milk or soda!"
"Fine!" I yelled, hanging up on my mom. I took a sharp turn to the right on the street, heading to the market. I took a deep breath, gasping for air. I looked down on my watch. Seven-thirty. "I'll just grab an organic juice box and be on my way. The school is only ten more minutes away." She went inside the market and headed to the fresh produce section. I looked around in a rushed way. I was so distracted in finding my favorite fresh apple apple juice that I accidently bumped into someone, knocking me and all my stuff to the ground. I groaned with pain. "I'm..so sorry," I moaned.
I looked up and saw a man picking up my books, putting them in my satchel. I stared at the man with confusion. He had the same uniform as me, yet he had long black hair, which was against the rules to have. I crawled up and and said, "Oh, I'm sorry! You don't have to help me."
He looked up at me. His eyes were so....red. Could eyes even be that color? He had piercings all over his face, and silver rings on almost every finger. "Here," he muttered, handing me the book bag.
"Oh, um...Thanks," I said. He nodded, got up, and walked away. I was amazed with his appearence so much that I was completely distracted. "Crap, what time is it?" Seven-forty five. "God damnit! I have to grab my juice and go!"
After I bought my juice, I sprinted to school, almost squeezing my juice box to death. I made it to school with five minutes to spare. I turned in my essays in a breeze. I sighed with relief as I began to drink my juice box. "Ah, sweet relief."
"Hey, Levy!" A similar voice called out my name. I turned and saw my best friends, Juvia, Jet, and Droy walking in my direction. I smiled and wave my hands at them. The three of them have been by my side since the sixth grade. Juvia was a transfer student from the West who didn't know how to speak English. I was the first to confront her and even taught her the language. Within time, she was one of my greatest friends. Jet, just like me, comes from a family of professors. But unlike my parents, his parents allow him a choice of his future. Despite that, he's always been by my side. Droy was actually a family friend who was like a brother to me. These three people were almost like my family. "Hey, guys!"
"I see you made it before the first bell," Droy smiled.
"Yeah, after almost sprinting to death," I sighed, taking another giant sip from my juice.
"Juvia texted you to make sure you'd wake up early," Juvia sighed.
"We all know Levy's a deep sleeper," Jet laughed. I punched Jet in the arm, laughing out loud. The first bell finally rang. "C'mon," Jet said, wrapping his arm around me, "Levy and I have Physics first."
"Juvia and I have World History. See you later," Droy smiled. We parted ways, heading off to class.
When we got to our classroom, Jet and I sat together and began socializing. "Hey, so I was wondering if maybe...you wanted to go see a movie this weekend."
"A movie?" I asked. "What movie?"
"I was thinking that documentary on Nebula 7-D4," Jet muttered, turning red a little. I smiled brightly. Jet was probably the best person to go see movies with. He always had a way to make me smile in the middle of them. "Sure!"
Jet's face brightened. "Really?"
"Sure, why not!" Jet smiled. The second bell rang, and the teacher, Mr.Drasenburg, walked in. "Alright class, we left off with Circular Motion and Satellite Motion. Can anyone remind me what those are?"
I raised my hand, and I was called on. "They are ways of describing Newton's Law of Motion and Kinematic principles when the motion of the object is moving in circles."
"Correct!" Mr. D exclaimed.
"Whoa, even I didn't know that," Jet whispered.
"That's because you read the latest Sports Monthly," I whispered back.
"Exactly: because it comes once a month!" I snickered at his comment. Throughout class, I was at a daze, since I learned all this stuff when I was a freshman. Suddenly, there was a knock on our classroom door. I looked to see that it was our principal, Ms. Grandine. "Sorry to interrupt, but could be borrow Ms. McGarden please?"
"Oh, of course."
"Ms. McGarden, please follow me." All eyes were on me as I slowly got up and walked out of class with books in my hands. I followed her to her office, where I saw a figure sitting on one of the chairs. "Levy, please sit."
I did as she commanded. I looked at the person stitting next to me and gasped.
It was the guy from the market!
Gajeel P.O.V
It's been six years I've actually been to school, and I'm already in trouble? Why the hell was I sent to the office? And why was the blue-haired girl sitting next to me? As all these questions roamed in my head, the principal, whatever her name was, began to speak. "Levy, you have one of the highest grades in the whole city, yes?"
"Yes, I do," she said proudly. So she's a geek then, huh, I snickered in my head.
"Well, Gajeel here, um..Hasn't really been to school in a while and is very behind on grades."
"I'm not that behind," I muttered in my head.
"You're a whole three years behind," the principal stated. "And, well, if you don't pass the next exam that happens in January, you'll get held back three whole grades."
My eyes widened. "Why the hell was I not informed of this!"
"You're father should've told you," the principal informed me. My anger boiled up at the mention of my father. I clenched my fists, trying to conceal my anger. "Well, Levy here will help you solve your problems."
"I will?" Levy asked.
"She will?" I asked in unison with her.
The principal nodded. "For the next three months, Levy will be tutoring you every other day after school."
"What!" I yelled, standing up from my chair. "Is that really necessary?"
The principal sighed. "Yes, it is."
"But what about me! Don't I get a say in this!" The girl exclaimed.
"I'm sorry, Levy, but you're the only one who's capable of it. This is my final decision, you two. You start tomorrow. Now leave my office."
"B-But," the girl stammered.
"Now!" The principal roared. I left her office with rage. I slid my hand against my long black hair with frustration. I looked over at the girl, who didn't look happy at all. I walked over to her and said, "Hey, Pipsqueak. You're from the market, aren't you."
She glared at me with her hazel eyes. "Yes, I am. And if I'm going to be tutoring you, you have to listen to everything I say, got it!"
I stared down at her and began to laugh hysterically. This tiny little junior just ordered me to do something! How hilarious! She pouted at me. "What's so funny!"
"Nothing, nothing," I chuckled.
She scoffed. "I have to get to class, and I think you do too!"
"Alright, Pipsqueak," I laughed.
"The name's Levy, not Pipsqueak! What's your name, Cinderblock!" She exclaimed.
"The name's Gajeel. Don't for get it," I winked.
"Oh believe me, I won't." And with that, she walked away, leaving her fury behind. For a tiny girl, she did pack quite a punch. I looked out the giant window and sighed.
Six damn years.
Six years wasted in a dark, cold cell.
It was only last week I was released from Juvie after being framed for the murder of my mother and the attempt of murder of my father. My father has full custody over me, but he doesn't pay attention to me. Besides there not being my mother, nothing has changed.
My mother.
I missed her deeply. I placed my hand over my heart and squeezed my blazer tightly.
But I already knew it was too late.
Too late for me to start over, to start a new life.
My life tumbled down that night.
And I can never get it back.
