Lucy P.O.V {Boy do I miss doing that}
"Lucy...Lucy..Lucy!" I woke up startled, my heart racing to it's extent. My vision was blurred without my glasses, so I couldn't see who was talking to me. I put on my glasses and my vision focused, and I saw my little brother, Len, waving his hand towards my face. "Hey! You're going to be late for your first day!"
"First...day?" I yawned, staring at my alarm clock. It was already seven fifteen. My eyes widened as I grabbed alarm clock. "Is it already that time!" I quickly got out of bed, but ended up tripping over my own covers, falling to the ground. I could hear my brother give himself a face palm. "Now is not the time to be fooling around! Hurry! Cousin Mira should be picking us up very soon!"
"Alright, alright! Just help me find my uniform skirt!" I was rummaging through my wooden wardrobe, grabbing my brand new uniform shirt and vest. I was throwing my clothes all over the place, until I finally found it in the bottom of the pile. Len handed me my skirt, and I changed faster than I bet anyone has in the last century. I ran to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. My hair was a mess. "Great, just great," I muttered. I quickly brushed my hair and braided it into two like I usually do. I quickly brushed my teeth while yelling, "Len! Grab me an apple!"
After I spit out the toothpaste, I ran to grab my shoes and quickly put them on. Len threw me an apple and I caught it with ease. I took a deep breath and looked at our little clock in the middle of our house. Seven-thirty. I sighed with relief. "Just in time."
Len ran up to me. "Nice one, sis!" I smiled and gave him a high five. At that moment, we heard honking from outside. "Well, that's our ride!" We walked outside our house, locking the door behind us, and we saw our cousins Mirajane and Lisanna in the car, waving at us. "C'mon, lazy bones! You don't want to miss your first day, do you?"
To be honest, I just want it to be over soon, I muttered in my mind. But I stayed quiet as I sat in the back with Lisanna while Len sat in the front with Mirajane. Lisanna gave me a quick hug, and I hugged her back. "Are you ready, Lucy?"
I nodded. "I am...I hope."
"Aw, c'mon! You'll do great! For a girl who's had to learn five years worth of learning in just one, you've done a pretty outstanding job."
"Yeah," Lisanna agreed. "And you passed the entrance exam with flying colors!" I smiled and thanked her for her enthusiasm. I stared out the window and just sighed. It's been six years since the incident. You'd expect a girl like me to just get better in a matter of months, right?
Wrong.
I was in a coma for five years, and it was only last year I suddenly woke up from that long sleep. There were definitely several surprises when I woke up, one of them was Len. According to eldest cousin Mirajane, my mom was pregnant at the time and didn't realize until after the accident. While my mom was in labor, my dad was hit by a drunk driver and died instantly. My mother died of blood loss after Len was born. The Strauss raised him, but he was very well known about my existence and visited me every day. I loved my brother and always thought of him as my own child, despite the fact that Len was a blue-haired child like my grandfather, while I was blond like my parents.
We arrived at Len's school in less than five minutes. As he got out of the car, he opened my door and gave me a big hug. "Be careful, okay?"
I nodded. "Should I be telling you that?" Len smiled and ran off to his group of friends that were by the gate. My brother was sure popular only at the age of six. "Geez, what's up with your brother? He's only in kindergarten, yet look at how many girls are following him!" Lisanna laughed.
"He must get it from me," I winked, joking around with my cousin.
We pulled up at my new school: Fairy Tail Academy, one of the most prestigious schools in Fiore. I peeked out the window and saw girls coming out of limos and fancy cars, wearing expensive looking jewelry and book bags. "Do you really go to this school, Lisanna?"
"Yeah," Lisanna said, putting a hair clip on the side of her snow white hair. "Colleges look at this school like it's God himself! If you go to this school, then you can go to any college in the world! If you have good grades, that is."
"Great," I muttered. I walked out of the car when Mira called out my name. "I talked to your physics teacher yesterday. If there are any projects involving magnets, you will be immediately because-."
"Because of my pacemaker, I know, I know," I muttered. After accident, they had to implant a pacemaker in my chest because my heart rate was far too slow. If I'm anywhere near a magnet, the pacemaker gets corrupted, sending pain throughout my chest and possibly killing me. "Also, according to your math teacher, you're going to have to go to the senior class instead of junior."
"What? Why?"
"Your math was pretty high, so they decided to put you in calculous with the seniors."
I sighed. "Alright. Lisanna, I expect you to be my escort from class to class."
Lisanna giggled. "Alright then, let's go!
This school did not look like a school. It looked more like a palace! There was a chandelier on the ceiling the minute I stepped in the school. I gazed upon the school in wonder. "Whoa! Are you sure this is a school?"
"Positive," Lisanna smiled, wrapping her hands around me. "Come on, I'll show you to your locker." I nodded and followed Lisanna. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Maybe...this will be great. This might help me start over.
I pray to God that maybe I can return to my normal life.
Natsu P.O.V
I rode my bike to school when suddenly I was attacked by Gray and Elfman. "Ah, there he is!" They jumped on me, making me fall off my bike and hit the pavement. I grunted and laughed at the same time. "Guys, seriously! I just got yelled at by mom about keeping my uniform clean!"
"Start acting like a man, man!" Elfman roared. I stuffed a meat bun in his mouth and tapped his white head. "Enjoy that bun, will ya'?"
"Haha! Nice one!" Gray laughed, lifting both Elfman and me up. "C'mon, lets head to our lockers."
It's been six years since the incident. That incident scared me so much that I was forced into therapy. I never liked talking about that incident , or more specifically, Lucy. I realized then that I betrayed her. I didn't play with her anymore and treated her so coldly.
But soon, I moved on.
"Hey, did you guys hear the rumour?" Gray asked.
"No, what rumour?" I asked.
"A junior is going to be in our calculous class!"
"Whoa, really?" I asked, wide eyed. It was hard for students here to advance to classes, so this sure shocked Elfman and me. "Is it a boy or girl?"
"I heard it was a girl, and she's pretty adorable." Gray snickered.
"Adorable?"
"She has thick black glasses and braided hair. It's as if she's an elementary kid student!" My heart sank at the description . That reminds me of Lucy when she was younger, I thought. Gray must've noticed my sadness and pat my shoulder. "Hey man, I forgot."
"It's alright," I sighed. "Let's just head to class."
We headed to our class, which happened to be calculous. "Hey did you guys did do your homework! I need to copy!" Elfman pleaded.
"Yeah, hold on," I chuckled, grabbing my homework from my bookbag. Suddenly, I felt something it my back, squealing. "Ah! Sorry!" A girl squeaked.
I looked down and saw books and papers scattered everywhere with the girl trying to pick everything up. I crouched down to the ground and picked up papers for her. "Here," I smiled, looking at her.
"Ah, thank y-." She looked up, and I gasped. "L...Lucy!"
Her eyes widened with shock. Her lips began to quiver as she backed away from me. She got up and ran out of the classroom. "No, wait!"
I ran after her, calling out her name. This has to be real. THIS HAS TO BE REAL! I reached out my hand until I finally grabbed her shoulder, pulling her close to me. I examined her closely. She didn't look in my eyes, but I knew it was her. "Is it...Is it really you?"
At that moment, the bell chimed, announcing that it was time for class.
"I...I have to go," she muttered, trying to pull away.
And with that, she ran off.
"It's her," I laughed softly. "It really is her."
