Review: Thanks, Tim is an unsettling story that covers the themes of anxiety, social phobia and the need for acceptance. Jack is 17 but he is sociophobe. He strives for acceptance and wants to be least noticed by anyone. But with Tim, he is different. Tim is his gay best friend who is bubbly and cheerful unlike Jack. They both are cute together as a team and readers are hooked even before the formal introduction of characters is made. Tim is the only hope for Jack and he believes that everything will be alright with him in the end. The bottom line of the story is: Never underestimate yourself. People will keep judging but remember you're not born to impress them.
Notes: If there's one book that keeps making me cry years after reading them, it'd be this. This was hands down one of the best YA books ever! Noda has a way with words and the story was so raw and heartfelt, it's beyond words. Even when the book isn't on Wattpad or any other platform as I know it, it continues to be a soft remembrance for a book I always loved. The tragedy that strikes at the end and the hope it all brings together... it's beyond words. Tim's first introduction is "Hi, I'm Tim and I'm gay" or something along those lines. The way he was so himself around people, despite the backlash and everything... I simply cannot find enough words to express and pour my heart out for this work. I think "Butterfly Season" might be an extension to the same idea, however the author hasn't written much in it. But anyway, that's my rant. I love this book TOO much and I cannot stop talking about it.
