Things I HAVE Done In Pokemon

The second update for today! Sit back and relax as these are 10 Things I HAVE Done or owned in the Pokemon series.

1. I HAVE Completed the Pokedex Before

Something a great percentage of the fanbase haven't successfully done, I am someone who's completed the Pokedex in any given Pokemon game not once but MULTIPLE times and let me just tell you, don't do it. I've gone about purchasing both copies of a Game, trading with players online as well as grinding for 30+ hours in order to complete the Pokedex. I am a completionist at heart and that most definitely applies to Pokemon games. Yes, I am that person who's 100% the Compendium in Persona 5, found all 100 Hidden Mickeys in Kingdom Hearts 3, Found all 105 Wisps in Pokemon Legends Arceus and more.
The games I've completed the Pokedex in would be Platinum (As well as 98% of the National Dex), Moon, Ultra Moon, Shield & Legends Arceus. Would I complete the Pokedex in future Pokemon games? Unfortunately...

2. I HAVE Partaked in Event Exclusive Pokemon

I know what you're saying, ALOT of People have taken part in event exclusive Pokemon before. And you're right, what I Mean is that I've taken part in Events Exclusive to certain time periods/you cannot access in a regular playthrough of any game. This means you have to be present in certain real world locations, obtain download codes or pre-order games in order to obtain certain Pokemon. I was lucky that I obtained the Shiny Beldum pre-order bonus that came with Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire back in 2014. I also begged and begged my mom to take me to a Gamestop in order to download the exclusive Celebi event in Pokemon Soulsilver & Heartgold back in 2011. Thankfully Pokemon has cut down on having to go to real world locations in order to obtain certain Pokemon and instead you just need Internet & to pay attention to Pokemon events online in order to get Event Exclusives nowadays.

3. I HAVE Purchased Both Versions of a Game Before

This was due to me wanting to complete my Pokedex or to experience version exclusives first hand. Most people just purchase one of two copies of a game and call it good, and I agree! But as of nowadays I'm too much of a completionist and have my own WELL paying job that now I can comfortably buy both versions of a Pokemon game. As of now, I own the original Ruby, Sapphire AND Emerald (These were hand me downs from my cousin) I own Heartgold AND Soulsilver (A Friend gave me Heartgold due to how he wanted to trade for one of my possessions in return). I own Sword AND Shield. I own Brilliant Diamond AND Shining Pearl. And lastly, I WILL own both Scarlet & Violet next week when the games release on the 18th.

4. I HAVE Taken Part in the Splatoon X Pokemon Crossover Event

I swear I've never been more excited for a game in my entire life. I literally requested a day off work in order to partake in the Splatoon X Pokemon Splatfest ALL weekend long. I've never requested a day off from work in order to play videogames. I'm happy that I was able to take part in a Splatoon X Pokemon crossover event. Even if Team Water won in a landslide😅

5. I HAVE Pokemon Cards

When I was four years old, I used to collect Pokemon Cards. My parents would bribe me with Pokemon Cards in order to get me to study for school (I was undiagnosed as Autistic at the time, so getting me to study let alone understand what I was learning was a task in and of itself) and I continued to collect Cards until I was 11. I stopped collecting a long time ago but I won't deny that whenever McDonald's has Pokemon Cards as toys, Id beg my sister who works there to steal me a bunch of card packs. I still enjoy collecting them, but don't go out of my way to do so thanks to the scalpers out there but also how ridiculously expensive they are. Therefore, I just don't collect them anymore but I can admit that I used to.

6. I HAVE Pokemon Colosseum

Pokemon Colosseum is an underrated gem made by the Pokemon Company back in 2004. It was a collectible upon release, less than 2 million copies were made (when nowadays most Pokemon Games sell AT LEAST 20 Million copies) and as of today its next to impossible to get your hands on a WORKING copy of the game without spending $200. I was one of the lucky few to get my hands on a copy of Colosseum due to how my mother was a huge fan of the series at the time of release. I was yet a fan of Pokemon at the time, so the game was passed down to me once I learned how to read and have forever been in love with Pokemon since. Furthermore, I own TWO copies of this game! I decided to buy another copy of Colosseum within the last few years due to how my original copy has seen better days and that I wanted another copy just in case the original bites the dust. It wasn't cheap either but I did get it for less than $100!

7. I HAVE Captured Arceus

In order to capture Arceus in Pokemon Legends Arceus you not only A: Have to complete the main story. B: Defeat Volo of whom is one of the hardest Pokemon battles in history. C: Complete the Pokedex which is RIDICULOUSLY difficult. D: Defeat Arceus in Battle in which this battle is 100% skill based and a complete pain in the ass. It took me 5+ hours to defeat Arceus in battle over a few days and many rage quits. Capturing Arceus in Legends Arceus is no easy feat and I'm proud to have done so! In fact, I still have one of you guys to thank for trading me the final Pokemon I needed for my Pokedex in this game! I will forever be thankful for such!

8. I HAVE Completed a Pokemon Nuzlock

A Pokemon Nuzlock is when you play a Pokemon game with specific rules. Such as, only playing the game with traded Pokemon, only playing the game with Pokemon of one specific type, if a Pokemon faints you have to release it, etc. I have succeasfully played a Pokemon X & Y Nuzlock where my one and only rule was that I can only play the game with Fire Type Pokemon. I don't know why it was my 14 Year old ass's smart idea to play this game with entirely FIRE TYPES!?!?!?! I had fun with the playthrough but I won't deny how much of a headache I had with it especially when I encountered the Rock Gym Leader and Water Elite 4 Member. My team consisted of Delphox, Pyroar, Charizard, Talonflame as well as Dragalge & Hydreigon. Yes, Dragalge & Hydreigon aren't Fire types BUT there's not enough fire types in the game so I made them ONLY use Fire moves. If you ask me, that's fair. Would I attempt another Nuzlock? Yes. It was fun and a challenge. Would I do it anytime soon? Heck no.

9. I HAVE Shiny Pokemon

While I haven't ever successfully Shiny Hunted Before, I've gotten lucky over the years as I've by chance stumbled upon MANY Shiny Pokemon. Some shinies I've captured over the years includes Ratata, Pawniard, Golbat, Wimpod, Meditite and Eevee(That I later evolved into Espeon)to name a few. I usually find at least one Shiny per playthrough of any Pokemon Game be it I found one or the game in question literally gives you one such as in the Silver & Gold games where you can capture the Legendary Red Gyarados, in Black & White where Cynthia gives you an egg holding a Shiny Gible, the Shiny Beldum Pre Order Bonus for Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and lastly the Shiny Ponyta Mission in Legends Arceus. I've heard that there's people out there who still have yet to find any Shiny Pokemon. Well, I wish you all the luck!

10. I HAVE Dusk Lycanroc

Dusk Lycanroc is actually one of the rarest Pokemon to exist nowadays as this Pokemon was an event exclusive back in 2016 when Ultra Sun & Moon came out. Even then, this Pokemon was VERY limited in supply. I unfortunately missed out on said event BUT got lucky thanks to the GTS. I traded a Dialga, a RARE Pokemon exclusive to Ultra Moon at the time, in order to obtain Dusk Lycanroc. Jokes on him, I got that Dialga through a Wonder Trade! You can still obtain Dusk Lycanroc nowadays IF you play Pokemon Go. In which most of the fanbase doesn't play that game anymore so yeah...

Have you guys done any of these things before?
